  • It's so true. I've been so upset that the scale hasn't been moving and I've always kind of known why, but now I SEE why. So true about your body, too. Just because you're not logging it doesn't mean it goes away, even though we wish it would! haha
  • When I was in college, if I got stressed, I would lose a bunch of weight because I'd be too preoccupied worrying about other things to eat. Then I graduated and moved back home, got a desk job, and gained a bunch of weight. However my metabolism was still in great shape and my first job had a gym inside the office, so I…
  • I'm in. I need some accountability: Todays Date: 9/30/13 Current Weight: 141 lbs Goal Weight by Halloween: 130 lbs
  • My husband is very supportive, and I do all the shopping so if there's junk in the house, it's because I shopped while I was hungry. He also needs to really watch his cholesterol so that helps too. However if I make something that looks "too green" I usually get an earful of whining, but he's entitled to it since he hears…
  • The really nice thing about my school was that the gym was open 24/7, so I conditioned myself to go work out anytime I started feeling stressed or overwhelmed with all the schoolwork. I worked out almost every day in school for at least an hour. As for the cafeteria, I guess I never really felt that tempted to go overboard…
  • I am WITH YOU on this!!! No pinterest after dinner, and I've banned myself from watching the food network as well! I always try to ask myself the question as I'm headed into the kitchen: "Am I really hungry or just bored?" Also I don't really keep junk-type snacks in the house any longer.
  • I have to agree that US sizes are not the best barometer for keeping a goal size in mind. I'm a different size in every store, and sometimes my size varies in the SAME store... Old Navy for example is ridiculous. Anyway because of that I'd rather focus on my goal weight and goal measurements.
  • Started at 146lbs. Goal is 130lbs. I've been stalled at 140 since February. Feel free to add me!
  • thank you everyone!!! To answer your question: my calves were BURNING. I definitely didn't hydrate enough the night before, either because I was way dehydrated the rest of the day. On top of that I misread the "end of mile 2" sign for "start of mile 2" - so I thought I still had two more miles to go when I only had one! I…
  • Thanks again for all the responses. I just looked up my chip time and I finished in 31:54 on Saturday. I did SO much better than I thought I would, and I can't WAIT to sign up for more races!!!
  • I use the Fitbit and love it. I think from the research I've done that the Nike Fuel has some more tracking tools but I"m not sure. I just love that I get a "weekly progress report" in my emails each week telling me how many steps I've taken and how many minutes i've exercised. also if I hit my daily step goal, i get an…

  • Thank you everyone, all this advice is great. I think I will try to run outside today or tomorrow. I walked the same race last year so I'm SUPER pumped to be running this year, even if it isn't for the whole race. Progress :) :)
  • Great job!!!!!!

  • My husband started lifting with me in the evenings :) He doesn't really need to; he's naturally very muscular and skinny but it's really nice to know he's supporting me. I always get text messages from him throughout the day telling me how proud he is of me and all the hard work I'm doing. If I go to the gym to go for a…
  • Thanks for your reply on this. I felt like a total idiot posting but you helped me clarify for myself!!! :)
  • I used to daily because I read a study somewhere that those who weighed themselves every day were more likely to reach their goal number- but I found that I fluctuate so often that it doesn't do anything but frustrate me. 1x/week is perfectly fine for me!
  • Okay. Thanks so much for responding and I'll start weighing everything. I'll also adjust my calories and macros... see you in 4 weeks!
  • open, sorry, thought it was public.
  • Ham, keilbasa, turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. Oh did I mention quiche lorraine and hashbrown casserole for brunch?! I feel so horribly bloated, but my weigh-in day isn't till Thursday so there's no point in viewing the damage until then. Back to the gym tonight to do some extra penance on that treadmill :)
  • I'd love to join!!
  • I bought a two-piece bikini and have it hanging up in my closet as motivation. I plan to wear it memorial day weekend to show off my new bod!! :)
  • Peer pressure. "Oh just have one slice, it won't kill you."
  • Do a search on YouTube for "23.5 hours" -- it's a great little short from a doctor who's leading an initiative to get people up and moving. He takes the usual phrase "can you dedicate 30 minutes a day to being active" and spins it on its head, so instead, try asking yourself, or others: "Can you limit your sleeping,…
  • Friday is HERE!!!! I've already logged what I know I'll be eating tonight as well as my planned workout to hold myself accountable. I'm determined to stay on track this weekend! Good luck to everyone! :) :)
  • That is EXACTLY what I'm going through!! I think it's time for me to *grow up* and drink less. I was so hungover from St. Patty's day festivities, and you just feel AWFUL. Log, log, and exercise.
  • Thanks for the reminder :) I should probably be a little more forthright with my friends and family. Thankfully I don't have a massive amount of weight to lose, but many times people perceive that I don't need to lose anything, and don't take it seriously when I say I'm really trying. That adds to the pressure sometimes.…
  • Good idea to keep it as a goal in mind!! I should write it down in my planner. (I can't live without that thing!!!)
  • I've been signed up on the site for a while but just started religiously using it, and I love it! Please feel free to add me, I find the support on here very encouraging and motivating!! :)
  • Keeping your momentum of motivation up is probably the most difficult thing. Like many others I'm trying more to focus on making a permanent lifestyle change that includes healthier habits that will result in weight loss, rather than focusing on just losing weight. Each week I try to add something to my goal rather than…
