I'm not a mum but I have had some good success with mfp, and happy to share any tips and add to your motivation if I can, good luck, I'm sure with the right mindset you'll soon be giving your daughter a run for her money :)

If you have the right mindset you can do it, the first month can be hard, but once you see the achievements, you'll be on a role and with a bit of luck develop a lifestyle that keeps your mind happy as well as your bum toned! Good luck, and feel free to add me :)

Hi Vanessa, I'm Lori. I've been counting calories for over a year and built up my exercise from a weekly swim to now daily runs, swims, and/or strength training. I'm thrilled with my success and happy to share any tips I can. Likewise,I could do with a second wind of motivation as I'm struggling to lose the last 10lbs. The…

you can premake these and stick them in the microwave (or eat them cold flying out the door). They are low cal and high protein and will last a few days in the fridge http://foxeslovelemons.com/make-ahead-breakfast-muffins/

I guess age is just the most plausible way to explain your lack of consideration. To quote Oscar Wilde ' I am not young enough to know everything'

A really refreshing post! I am 5'4' and it I'm pretty sure I would look ill if I were to get to the 135 or whatever it is to be the perfect weight according to BMI, I could do it if I were just skin and fat and not have any muscle. Good to see someone else know that skinny doesnt equal sexy. Better to be happy and healthy!

I take Iron and Cod liver oil supplements but only a few times a week, vitamins mostly covered in diet

I reduce portion size so I can have another meal/starter and allow 20 mins before the main. If I'm still hungry before bed I find a weightwatchers yoghurt (loving the crumble ones they do) appeased me

I'm a scientist and I quite agree with you, and fail to see how you 'attacked' anyone maybe they should chill out and have a drink .....as part of a balanced lifestyle of course :)

I started on 1400 and the weight just didn't shift, move to 1200 and it dropped off, but this was before I started to exercise much (and I still don't do a lot) where I found I could eat the extra calories I burnt (approx 400 a day) for the same weight loss affect. I can not drop below 1300 on exercise days though without…

100% Ginge :) Redheads unlike any other hair-colour seem to either be totally loved or totally despised through history. In some cases, adored for carrying the 'royal' genes, in other cases hounded as witches, if your interested in a brief history I would recommend the Little Book of Red Hair.

I get something similar from time to time and it is nearly always from people who could stand to lose a few pounds themselves

IMO, everyone's allowed a treat, taking true control of your diet means you can do this without letting yourself get lurred into more, but this is something that has to happen before addiction takes hold. If your past this point then yes, avoid temptation completely. If your generally fit and healthy and just looking to…

Currently at 150. I am aiming for 140 which seems to be in the middle of BMI suggestion. I am not a naturally thin person, and enjoy have feminine curves, so I think if I went any lower I would look gaunt and not feel very sexy. The trouble with 5'5' is BMI range is pretty wide. Height to Waist ratio seems a better guide…

Yup, I'm from the UK where no one drives an automatic. I can't imagine why anyone would want an automatic, takes away all the fun : - )

Thanks for all your replies and helpful advice, I hadn't realised how much one can fluctuate in a single day. Looking at this link, it might not be the scales but the time of day I have been weighing. http://scoobysworkshop.com/how-to-weigh-yourself-accurately/ Will stick with the ones I have for the time being, making…

vodka and soda water with a dash of lime cordial is a good option for drinking out, drinking at home I stick to dry wines with a low % (eg., 11%)

Not sure if you have cracked this problem by now but would recommend you try to save 100kcal from the day when your not hungry and about half hour before bed have a muller light. It seems to sooth the tummy and the mind, the former by offering those necessary calories to ease the rumbles, and the latter, as you know a…
