You look fantastic and I'll bet you feel better ,too! Since I'm old enough to be your grandmother, I'd like to say to you young people, it's so smart to make the effort now. You might have felt in good health when heavier but those problems build up and cut into your enjoyment further along. So- great accomplishment for…

I love the NSVs that involve being able to DO things. "Life", Pogo once said, "is doing stuff." When our bodies let us do more, we live more. Great news!

Way to go; it's not just how one's body looks but what we can do with it! Very nice NSV!

We already had our Thanksgiving here, in Canada, a month ago, I'm here to say enjoy your special meal but I prefer not kidding myself that it was not eaten. There are no free days for me, just occasional parties, with everything counted.

PS Feel free to add me as a friend if you want.

I'm 64, here since August and have lost 15 lbs, 7 to go, and though the weight comes off slower than in my 40s (or younger), it *does* come off, if you just follow the process. I love MFP and- it's free. I am confident that now I can maintain my new healthy weight, too, because logging is so easy. Welcome and best wishes!…

No TV for 26 years, and don't want one. Avid reader and watch dvds or download movies on PC. When I had a TV I'd just watch whatever was on (and claim I didn't!) It's just like food, if someone 'serves' it, you'll take it in. We raised 2 boys without it and now (in their mid-20s) they say they don;t want one either. We…

No to pics, as am not sure I could get good comparison (lighting, pose, etc.) from month to month; yes to measuring 1x/month. Did that out of curiosity when noticed my clothes were loose. And I also "measure" by a pair of jeans.

You've got some great advice here, starting with Dave198 (that's just what I'd say, too)! Hope you can sense my good will in these words: we all get attached to our drama, our fears and our past failures. But that's an old story, and if we live that way we're prisoners. Your new story is here, with MFP's straightforward…

Tallk about hard work paying off! You are amazing, fabulous, inspiring and thank you so much for posting this!

Hi, Lora! Don't give up without showing up! I see you have no info on your profile, no ticker that shares your goal. So, I suggest, in the spirit friendship and support, that you hang out for a little bit here. Make a comment a day to someone, and if you like you can send me a friend request. I'm new here too, and in the…

Hi, here's another smack! At 37 down you are already noticing significant changes. And (to me most important of all) you have changed your eating habits. You know how and what to eat, you are no longer in the grip of old habits and mindless eating. IMO *that* is the breakthrough. Now you have the work, but also the joy of…

Lots of good advice here, but here is one not given yet: "Cheat down" when you eat. I learned this decades ago at WW. Instead of taking an extra couple of almonds or bites of this or that, cheat *down* and take just a smidge less. Make your measure on the scant side. I found the "TLBs" (tastes, Licks and Bites) really do…

I'm 64, and yes, it is harder than in preceding decades, but I'm also more willing to take it slowly. Just in my first month here and really like the online diary. Also, 3-4x @ gym for treadmill/weights, and yoga at home. We can't give up, and what has motivated me this time, more than dress size, is a surprise discovery…
