  • Over 30 miles walking, 7.79 miles of bicycling. 12 miles to go!
  • BUMP-I see a lot of people doing this work out also and it is encouraging me to give a try. I look forward to seeing your results.
  • I really understand this. I struggle with this often and I can tell you that while losing weight will help some, it doesn't solve this problem. This is a problem of self worthiness, like somehow if you have what the other person has you would be better. Truth is the grass isn't greener on the other side. I am a 39 yo…
  • My dairy is open, sorry should have checked that first. I am 5'5", 171 lbs, 39 years old, BF% 31.7. The weight lifting routine I am following changes every two weeks to work the muscles in different ways. I have some degree of soreness just about everyday. I also tend to change what I eat often as I really like to cook and…
  • By the way, the first 4-5 lbs came off the first two weeks of joining MFP.
  • 23 miles so far, 27 to go
  • All the above ideas and more. I use Laughing Cow anywhere you'd use cream cheese. WWW.Hungry-girl.com has tons of recipes that use LC cheese, (and lots of other good ideas as well). You can make a fake alfredo with LC cheese. That is worth checking out! Hungry Girl calls it Girlfredo, but guys like it too!
  • I did think about if I was holding my breath and made a conscious effort to breath. I also put an ice pack on my neck and head during rests. Thanks for your thoughts. I forgot to mention that I did start taking BCAA's and wondered if that had anything to do with it.
  • 13 miles walked on the treadmill with 37 to go
  • Go check out bodybuilding.com I am following Jamie Season 's Livefit plan and I do it at home. I have to improvise sometimes but it works. It is free and when you look at the exercises you will see what kind of equipment is needed. I got myself a Gold 's Gym from Walmart, a barbell with weights and I already had a…
  • I would love to join, I'm looking for all the support I can get! Sometimes it feels like I'm killing myself to see very little results and I think what else can I do? Gain more support, that's what! I am 39, looking to lose a total of 40 lbs before my 40 birthday in August. Since the beginning of the year I've managed to…
  • Your weight loss is very obvious, keep at it. Remember you aren't doing this for other people you are doing it for you and your happiness and satisfaction at your job well done is what is important. You've worked hard, you know what you did and you can be very proud of yourself. When I first lost weight I had to lose…
  • Wow, I am so encourged by your progress. I am following the Livefit program on Bodybuilding.com and just finished my first 4 week phase. I've not had the kind of results number wise that you have. I've only lost about 3 lbs and only 4 inches lost. I am currently at 171.6 lbs and I am 5'5" and I think I have a very similar…
  • Put me down for 50 miles in March March 1st 2.5 miles.
  • Sorry, I'm a novice. See post below.
  • I started following a 12 week plan by Jamie Eason found on bodybuilding.com. The workouts fit your time frame and you build muscle which makes you look better. All of the exercises for each day are laid out, so you just follow the plan. I am still working on my diet, improving slowly, but I am seeing results from the…
  • I was going to recommend exactly the same thing! I am currently doing this program and love it! There are a ton of good articles on the bodybuilding website. I recently read that you should have approximately one gram of protein per body weight. I struggle with getting enough protein but have recently been able to get in…
  • In my opinion the best and most lasting motivation comes from inside yourself. Other people can provide support and motivation, but they can't always be there. If you realize that you are worth the hard work and want to be good to yourself it keeps you going even when things get hard. When I lost my first 85 pounds, my…
  • Three pounds in less than a week is really good. Be patient with yourself, it takes time. I've been at it for a month and Ive lost 5 lbs. Weight loss in reality is not like tv. You want to balance yourself so you can stay in it for the duration. In the past it took me 14 months to lose 85 lbs but month by month there were…
  • I've never had a problem with soda and rarely drink it, but I heard something about water that may help encourage you. I heard a doctor on nutrition say that adding 1 1/2 liters of water a day to what you already drink will actually cause you to lose 5 lbs in a year just from drinking the water because it boosts your…
