Welcome! Feel free to friend me. Also, MFP set you at 1320, but it's going to be a huge shock to your system to drop to that. When I started my weightloss journey it started me a 1350. I changed it to 1500 and the weight came off MUCH faster. Maybe try 1600-1500 when you start and really try not to eat less than that. The…

Does it work the butt, love handles, and thighs too? I love ab workouts- my second favorite to running, but just wanted check. :)

Thanks everyone! I have done a ton of research and had a very long conversation with my doctor. I spoke with my boyfriend about our future plans for children and we are planning on trying to conceive in around 5 years- we want to get married next summer and me go to graduate school and get that completed, then start the…

1) Allergic to latex and lamb condoms are expensive 2) pull out method is only effective 30% of the time

^^^^^^ Toodloo THANK YOU. I have vicodine leftover from my wisdom tooth extraction if the pain is really as bad as what everyone says. Then again, I have a really high pain tolerance- i.e. I was up and cleaning my house the same day I had my three impacted wisdom teeth removed. Didn't phase me at all really. Hope that my…

Thanks! According to my insurance, my IUD would only cost $10 because it's taken care of at the doctor's office. I figure $10 for 5 years is better than $120 a year for pills. My doctor didn't say anything about the failure rate, but I will definitely ask about that.

Oh one other thing, up your protein to 30%, fat 30%, and carbs 40%. More protein is actually shown to promote fat loss, as for the fat, it's okay to eat 30%, just make sure it's good fats from dairy, meat (fish is a good one), nuts, and olive oil is super healthy!

Thanks!! I already have bad acne and have been on medication since god knows when and I'm taking Biotin, which seems to have helped. I keep thinking that my pill was what made everything blow up on me. We shall see though. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed on this one!

I just started using TDEE- 20% just last week to take off my last 10-15 lbs. I have gained 3 pounds since doing it, but my nifty scale reports it is just water weight gain from the increased calorie intake. I do have another friend that has been doing this for over 6 weeks and has lost 1 1/2" around her hips even though…

I agree! I have a good friend that was about the same size as you and she gained 15 pounds over the course of a couple of years, but to be honest, she grew into her body. She no longer looked like a teenager, but a healthy woman. BUT because you do want to lose weight and nothing is going your way. You should try a couple…

Thanks guys! I weight 140 and right now MFP has me set at 135 grams of protein. As for what kind of Whey Protein it is it contains both Concentrate and Isolate. It has very little sugar and is says that there is sucralose which is the only "bad ingredient" I see out of all the ingredients.
-
That helps a ton! Thanks! Has the protein consumption helped you reach your weight loss goals for the most part?

I'm 5'3" and have always had a very muscular body so according to BMI, most of high school and all of college I spent overweight. I am easily stressed and in high school and college I over ate- not to mention our cafeteria food sucked. All through high school and college I did workout about 3-4 days a week. During my…

MFP has my limit set at 39, I feel like that is really low and it's hard to stay below or at it especially since one piece of fruit puts at almost half my intake.

If you are going off of your TDEE you will not eat your exercise calories back. My TDEE is 2500 and I am supposed to eat 2000 calories in order to lose 1 lb a week. According to MFP I have it set at .5 pounds lost per week and my activity level is higher since i go to the gym 5 days and week and usually burn a minimum of…

If you are trying to lose only 10 more lbs then you'll want to set yourself to 1/2 lb a week to lose so that you can set your body up for better maintenance to stay at the same ideal weight once you hit it.
-
When I first started MFP it told me to eat 1350 cals and that was a HUGE struggle for me so I upped it to 1500 cals and suddenly the weight started coming off and QUICKLY. There would be a week that I wouldn't lose and then the next week I'd lose two lbs. It will not be steady, but up your calories for sure! I had been…

That's exactly how my weightloss was. The weirdest part was the big 2-3lbs loss was after when I had a little over what my daily intake should have been. <---I meant to quote the guy directly above me. Oops.

That's an awesome weightloss! It took me about 5 months to lose 25 so that is really good! Keep it up and if you plateau for more than 3 weeks that's a sign that you need to change something. Right now I am 15 lbs from goal so it is harder to get there, so I am working on cutting the carbs to lower body fat and lean out my…

I am in the same place right now. I would suggest measuring yourself though because while you might not be losing weight, you may be losing inches. To help burn the extra fat, I just started a new tactic of eating 100 grams of carbs for 3 straight days and 1 day normal carb intake. It's not low enough to make you crabby…

Those shiritaki NoOodles... NASTY and they DO NOT fill you up what-so ever. Oh, and Sun Chips- You can totally disagree- I don't care, but they taste like flavored cardboard.

I would love to go a pool, but the nearest gym with a pool is 30 miles away and cost $30 a month to go to so I'm out of luck as I don't have that kind of time or money. I am dodgy about trampolines as I have never had much luck with them : / Thanks guys! I am going to an orthopaedic this week though to have it looked at.…

I will try the donkey kicks though for sure! Thanks!

I work with a trainer, so I am doing my squats correctly and currently I can't do any high step ups because of the pressure. The doctor says the cartilage in my left knee doesn't like to stay in place so I have to use a brace for knee intensive things. I seems to be helping a lot.
-
Thanks guys! I haven't thought of jumping rope and am actually surprised I never thought of it... I'll try it and make sure I use my knee brace just to make sure I don't hurt myself (I wear it when I run too, just to add support). I'll check out all the other things! Maybe they'd be nice workouts to do on my non-running…

I usually go to the gym 5 days a week and it's always after work. Unless I have a super busy week, then I make time in the early morning with pilates or something. I regularly burn 600-800 calories each day I workout. Somedays I'll eat back my calories and other days I don't. It's depends on how hungry I am that day. I…

Oh man, I just went to a calculator online and that could very well be why I have plateaued in my weight loss even though I am close to goal. My TDEE is 2502. Thanks for the heads up! I will make an effort to each more and let myself enjoy an extra helping of healthy food if I so desire. I the only problem is I am not used…

Hey! I used to be a college student and I live in Iowa :) I graduated two years ago and look back at my college career and wished I would have eaten better. With that I have managed to change the way I eat and managed and working out with changing my diet both leaned my body out and REALLY helped destress me. I am more…

My suggestion would be to have a small pack of low calorie treats i.e. popcorn, rice cakes (my personal favorite-seriously, the apple cinnamon are fabulous), or some healthy cereal with LOTS of fiber). I had a similar problem where I boredom ate as well. So what I did was I ALWAYS kept a large jug of water next to me and…

Thanks for your input! That's kinda what I was thinking, but the idea is certainly tempting at times.
