My husband likes to tell me, "When it hurts, hurt it back." He's mostly saying that when I'm breaking my *kitten* doing calisthenics, but I think it applies to depression, too. Try doing something that makes you feel more in charge, like having a light calorie day or even doing your own calisthenics in the house if it's…

Since you mentioned your friend's weight, I would be inclined to think you already knew the answer to this one.

I wake up at 4:30 so I can be out walking by 5 to walk an hour before getting ready for work. It can be done.

This is true. I was in the same situation. I need to lose about 100 lb (sad to admit), and when I started the new diet and exercise regimen I lost 15 lbs the first three weeks. But now that loss has slowed WAY down, so I think I'm back to aiming for a pound a week.

I'm in Gurnee, too!

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out. I was completely lost on that remark.

What does having ovaries sound like? I'm not sure what you meant by that. If your issues are somehow related to your ovaries, I'm sorry to hear it. I know that can make loss more difficult.

I lost 15 lbs in three weeks, and now I've been hovering at the same weight for about a week. It's been frustrating, but I think I'm just putting on muscle due to all the exercise I wasn't getting before. I'm trying not to freak about it because the first 15 came off so easily. One pound in seven months doesn't sound…

My husband and I are doing this together. We started a little over a month ago. We take long walks together when time permits (otherwise I go by myself during the week). We shop for healthy food together and he frequently cooks for us. He tells me all the time how proud he is of me for doing this, and he points out little…

Thanks for all the helpful feedback. I liked the suggestion about sharing with my husband. He said the same thing. And thanks for making me feel less awful for wanting something not so great for me once in a great while.

Holy abs, Batman!

Thanks, everyone! I couldn't do it without this site and everyone here. My husband turned me on to MFP; another reason he is great.
-
You look great! MFP is one of the greatest things on the internet. I'm taking so much away from having joined this community and watching people like you succeed. Thanks so much sharing!

I just joined MFP today. My husband and I both want to get healthy. I'm trying to get myself mentally prepped for this because I've failed in the past, but I don't want to end up a big mess like my mom, and I've been told I'm headed that way if I don't make changes. Looking forward to talking to people here. I really think…
