I used to stay up late at night, too. But now I go to bed by 8 to 8:30 at night, and my Fitbit buzzes and wakes me up at 4:15 in the morning. I have some coffee, read, wake up, and then get outside walking at 5:15. Something I've discovered since I've become a "morning" person (I put that in quotes because I'm awake but…

Grimmeanor, please don't apologize. That's EXACTLY what I needed to hear! Thanks so much!

I have the Fitbit Flex. I don't mind having things on my wrist. I love how interactive the app is and the information it gives you. It also sends me an email when it needs charging and it also sends encouraging messages to let me know how close I am to my goal. The other day it froze up on me, but I did the restart their…

I hear you, and I have the exact same problem. I stay motivated for a little while, then I lose that motivation and gain it all back and then some. Congrats on the five pounds! That's a great start!

The only thing that has ever worked for me is just not keeping it in the house. If I have to go out and buy it, it's usually enough of a deterrent to just do something else until I don't feel the need to eat anymore. I know it sounds corny, but have you ever tried taking up a hobby that will re-focus you? Knitting keeps me…

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments. I've had a successful eating day and I went for a lovely walk outside (the first day it's been warm enough to do so in about a month, and I enjoyed it). It helps to hear that there are other people who have fallen hard and gotten back up. And I'm so glad to read that my…

Get up earlier. I get up at 5 a.m. because I know I won't exercise after work.

You're fantastic. I rarely read an entire long post, but yours just sucked me in. Your words actually give me renewed confidence. Thanks so much for this!

Those lunges left my legs shaking for hours. And I think I must have done the Superman right because I felt like I was going to hurl afterwards. LOL

I'm Deborah and I started yesterday. I couldn't quite get through the entire workout, but today I finished No. 2. A little afraid of Phase 2, though, as she keeps saying she's taking it easy on us in this first round. Doesn't feel so easy to me!

Hi, everyone! I just started the Body Revolution. I've done the 30 Day Shred and saw some pretty good results. I started BR yesterday. I stopped about two-thirds of the way through, but this morning I got through Workout #2. I haven't been doing the extra cardio in the evenings, but maybe I'll see about giving it a try…

I would really love to be down 30 by April. I'm still working on losing 10 that I gained back over the last couple of months, :(. But I'm about halfway there, and then I really want to make my first real progress in six months. I'm with you!
-
It's great that you see that you're making progress even when you don't think so. I've been stuck for months, and I get down on myself pretty often for it. But I also stop to think every once in a while that I haven't gained any of my 47-pound loss back, and that's pretty major because it means I have changed my life in a…

"You have a long way to go." This came from somebody at work after I had lost the first 25 pounds. I saw the same person today and he told me, "You're looking really good!"

This is brilliant and I've shared it with everyone I know. Thanks!

Thanks, chatogal. Those words really do help.

[/quote]I call it "being on a break" and like anything else that one does religiously for awhile, it's okay to take one. One thing I do with clients at this point is sit down and assess what we've done, look at pictures where they were and now, reaffirm their goals and then change up some of the exercises or program.…

I did the 30 Day Shred, so I know what I'm talking about. You will gain muscle doing that program, so your weight might not change a lot in the direction you want it to. BUT DON'T GIVE UP! It's an awesome program and I was so impressed by the muscle I gained from doing it. It will help kick your metabolism up, too. I'm…

This is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing. I felt like I was reading my own thoughts for the last seven months, so it's good to see there's someone else out there experiencing so many similar emotions and still achieving their goal!

Jillian Michaels's 30 Day Shred. Lots of strength and cardio in there. I built some mad muscles doing that one and lost inches, too.
-
I wear gloves and I don't care what anyone thinks of it. I don't care what anyone thinks about anything I'm doing in the gym. I'm there for me.
-
If money is a consideration, give Jillian Michaels's 30 Day Shred a try. You can get the DVD for $10 or even look at it on YouTube for free. You'll get your cardio and your strength training all in one shot.

I did it and YES it does get better. It never gets easy, and even when it get better it was still hard. The aching will get better. Just do the best you can. If you know you're working as hard as you can, that's good enough. Don't worry if you can't do what those fit women in the video are doing.
-
When I did the 30 Day Shred I noticed that my sides and hips had started to firm up. Defninitely lost inches.
-
Yep. She outweighs me by about 50 pounds, maybe more.
-
Ready for some irony? She's my twin.
-
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. On the plus side, I was so angry this morning I ran an extra long interval at the gym this morning.
-
LOL! Best EVER!

This is sound advice, and I definitely understand what you're saying. But I've been laughing at myself all my life, trying to deflate the pain out of fat jokes. I finally feel like I don't HAVE to laugh at myself because I've worked hard not to be the butt of the joke. But I hear you; I can't control her actions, just my…

When I did the 30-day shred, it took me about a week before I could get through the entire DVD without stopping it so I could heave for a few minutes. If you have to stop it to breathe, do what you have to do. Just start it up again when you can, and eventually you'll get stronger. Good for you for not giving up!
