  • That' sounds reeeeally low, especially with workouts 7 days a week. Have you tried a gradual decrease? Like start at 100, if you don't lose, go down to 80, etc. I went too low once and was a zombie after a few weeks.
  • Hi! I also have Hashimoto's, diagnosed in 2011. I use MyFitnessPal daily to keep up with my macros and make sure I am eating enough of the things my body needs to be healthy. I have recently started blogging about my experiences, trials, and tribulations with Hashi's, and would love to invite any of you to read and respond…
  • The first year after being diagnosed with Hashi's, my endo increased my Synthroid dose four times. On the fifth time, I went to someone else and got prescribed Armour. I now take 30mg in the morning and 30mg at night, but my t3 is low, so I'm thinking I may have to add Cytomel. I cannot take Levothyroxine, it makes me…
  • I have Hashi's also, diagnosed in August 2011. I was on Synthroid until last month, when I finally found a doctor that would listen to me and prescribe according to symptoms and not just numbers. The new doctor put me on Armour. I feel better, but no weight loss. I have been completely gluten free since January 17, and…
  • I've heard several friends mention the Shaun T workouts, like Hip Hop Abs, etc, (something music based). And Zumba makes the time pass quickly, too. But, for me, making myself go, as mentioned several times above, and also writing out a workout schedule. I've found that if I write in the exact days and times that I plan to…
  • I agree with go2grrl....I would definitely up your calories, your body may be in fat-storing mode, wondering when it will get its next meal. I upped my calories by two hundred, kept my exercise the same, and actually lost weight. Also, are you taking additional supplements?
  • I have found that drinking the Celestial Seasonings caffeine free hot teas at night when I get a craving works well for me. I keep 3-5 different flavors on hand, and choose them according to what I crave. The Sugar Cookie Sleighride that they have around the holiday season is great, and so is the Sleepytime Vanilla…
  • I do! I was diagnosed in 2010, after being absolutely exhausted and gaining almost 50 pounds in one year. I was put on Synthroid, which I do not feel has helped me in my weight loss, and honestly, I'm not so sure it helped me with my symptoms either! The biggest thing that has helped me is my diet...I eat very few…
  • Hi! I am hypothyroid also, with Hashimoto's autoimmune, and I am 3 weeks gluten-free. Much like myalienbody said, I had signs of gluten intolerance nearly my whole life, but had no clue that was a potential problem. About two months ago, my gluten reactions became worse. Pasta and breads became my worst enemy, even though…
  • Keep working toward your goal! Don't stop because it isn't happening, it won't make you any closer! When you start to fall off the wagon, don't beat yourself up over it, get up, dust off, and start fresh again. I know that it is a struggle, and I do know a little about the disappointment and failure you are experiencing.…
  • Hey! I work from home as well, and I have found that if I plan my snacks, and even separate them into little bags (just like I would if I had to take them with me somewhere), I stick to my food plan. If I give myself full rein of the kitchen and the ability to get in any cabinet, pantry, or my fridge--I will surely…
