I have always been an early riser and enjoy going to the gym early. There are not too many people there (usually the same ones).I get up at 4 am and am out the door at 4:15(after feeding my two cats).I work out for two hours with four of my friends. It makes the time go by quite fast. I am retired so the time element…

Are you drinking a lot of water? It really makes a big difference. If you need to you can add MIO flavoring to your water, to give it taste.I actually buy the walmart brand,it is just as good and cost less. Good luck on your journey...

I enjoy the challenge of the machines, to see how long i can do one. I also do strength exercises. I try to switch them up a little so i don't get…

Good advice and info thanks.I have been using the strength machines at the gym also and want to start using free weights, but there are no instructors there at 4:40 AM, so i'll have to go in later in the morning and see one.Don't want to hurt myself by doing them wrong...

I got a weighted hula hoop for Christmas last year.I think that it is actually easier to keep up because of the weight. It is quite a workout. I started using one at a gym actually. You have to use it a little at a time til you get used to it. My sides above my waist were sore for a while.I think that it is like using any…

It is really too bad that people will not listen to sound advice on here. They probably know that it is for their own good, but are set in their ways and don't want to listen.I read an article on Sparkpeople a while ago that was on exercising. It said that too much exercise is not good for a person. It can cause all kinds of…

I am doing NS and i eat 6 times a day.Mid morning i have a protein snack(string cheese/yogurt/p-nuts/etc) then in the afternoon i have a carb(small bagel/pop corn/etc) With portion control, veggies and fruits it is doable.I usually have a huge salad for lunch with 2 ounces of protein in it. Hope this helps.

Alice, that is so true.We got ourselves into this situation and with self determination and the help of friends on here to support we can get ourselves out. It boils down to how badly we want to achieve our goals. This will be a good thing to remember especially during the holidays when life gets hectic. If you are going to…

I like the steel cut oats with a little raw honey. It takes a little longer to cook, but well worth it.I also just bought some whole grain quick cooking oats at w-mart. I haven't tried them yet but i'll bet they are really good, with 5 grams of fiber..Yum.

It seems like there is a lot of salt in everything. I try not to eat salt and find that a lot of food has too much as it is, for me anyway. Guess it is used as a preservative.
