I've been playing woodwinds (clarinet/oboe/sax) for over 30 years, but my real loves are my harps: I have two Celtic lever harps (a 22-string lap harp and a 36-string floor harp)... hence the user name!

Every day, sometimes twice a day depending on when I work out. I have very fine hair that gets icky if I don't wash it after a workout, and dry shampoos don't do a thing for me except make my scalp feel itchy. I make sure to use a really good quality shampoo and conditioner (my faves are Big shampoo and American Cream…

I still have donuts on a regular basis... but the difference is that I get the ones from Holey Donuts. They're shipped frozen and kept in the freezer until you want one. It's a win-win for me -- they're out of sight but there when I want one, they don't taste like they're low fat/low calorie, and they're so freaking…

Mustard and potato chip sandwiches... have to be made with French's yellow mustard, Ruffles, and plain ol' white bread. It's been my favorite treat ever since I was little

I have one every day Monday through Friday for lunch... and I assure you it hasn't stopped me from losing weight. That being said, they *are* rather high in sodium, so I compensate by making sure the rest of the day is sensible. For some people the meals themselves aren't enough, and if this is the case for you…

Can't stand her... it's not just the "scripted" things she's said but some of the things she had called the contestants behind their backs. The hypocrisy made me want to punch her right in her obnoxious face. You couldn't PAY me to do one of her workouts.

Yep -- this. I've had mine since November of last year, and except for showering and charging it is ALWAYS on me. In fact, I love mine *so* much that I bought a second one just in case (G-d forbid!) something happens to the one I have! I use my Polar FT4 to calculate the calorie burns for when I do my cardio and…

I had an entire container of the banana peanut butter Greek froyo last night... OK, so it was one of those itty-bitty 200 calorie containers, but it was GOOOOOOD!!! :)

I've had mine since November, and I *love* it!!! Synchs just fine with MFP and is a fantastic little motivator... http://www.fitbit.com/user/22M2DV

I've been doing it since last August -- and I absolutely LOVE it! The previous poster was right, and you WILL sweat, and you WILL get sore, but it is *very* important to make sure you take the time to learn the proper technique. The day after my first workout my legs were so sore that I was taking the stairs one at a time…

<This IS me with my husband. Just about ALL of my profile pics are the real me, because quite frankly I don't care who sees them. They're far from inappropriate, certainly NOT "hot" or "provocative," and I have no issues with posting them here. I'm not going to hide who I am.

It's the nature of the internet, sadly... we're supposed to be here to support one another, yet some feel the need to exert dominance or something by being snarky. People can get pretty darned nasty when they can hide behind the anonymity of a computer screen. It's like they've forgotten what it was like to be new here.…

I swear by Nectar Sweets by Syntrax... the chocolate truffle and vanilla bean torte are AMAZING. I mix one scoop with 8 ounces of water and 8 ounces of unsweetened almond milk - only 135 calories, 25 grams of protein, and a while lot of yumminess!

MFP doesn't control the advertising -- spambots do. They pick up on keywords and adjust the advertising that way. For example, I clicked on this thread, went back to my home page, and *I* had a Pizza Hut ad... And one for a women's online clothing store I visited last night. Think of it as a test of your willpower

From Somerset, but transplanted in West Warwick, RI now

Agreed.. not to mention a good way of punching out frustrations and burning a few calories in the process! Although I *do* cheat most of the time and toss everything in the bread machine...
-
I kept hearing so much about this "wonder bread" (no pun intended) I decided to pick some up at the grocery store today. I was *not* impressed. It's OK.. just not all that great-tasting to me, and the stats are no better than the whole grain honey wheat bread I usually eat every day. It also came out the consistency of a…

The responding poster must have gotten a bad item, because I have had ZERO issues with my Fitbit. I find it rather accurate at estimating steps and stairs, and the calorie burn *must* be right on -- because I lost my last 10 pounds after I started tracking everything with it. I'm sure there are FAR more people here with…

526 here.... I think I've crossed the line from "commitment" to "needs to be committed!"

Easy to understand common sense... :flowerforyou:

Really? "Skinny fat?" I have a bit of a "pot belly," do mostly cardio with some kettlebell for my workouts, eat grains/flours/sugars/processed things EVERYDAY (with the occasional cheeseburger thrown in)... And have 19% BF. Not to mention well-defined muscles everywhere else. Try again.

I keep a few on hand for those days when I'm just short of my protein goals for the day and can't possibly eat any more. I usually do about half the container (2 ounces/22g of protein), and refrigerate the rest. They remind me a little of Jell-O shots :)

::raises hand:: I'm 43 with no kids -- not for lack of trying through years of infertility treatments -- but loving' life now with just me, m'love and our dog!!!

Bought it, tried it... can't stand it. I'm going to try using it in baking recipes, but I'm not very hopeful. I'll stick with regular, all natural, full-fat peanut butter - just less of it!

"Out of respect for my husband/boyfriend/SO?" Seriously? I don't know about the rest of you, but my husband isn't a narrow-minded, self-centered, controlling man who would be offended or hurt if I were to have male friends on an internet forum. Most of my RL friends are men, and he has no problem with it in the least. It's…

^^ This. Oh, yes... 100% this.

Depends on the man, and whether or not he has the confidence (and legs) to pull off the look. I finally convinced my husband to get one a few years back that he only uses for ren faires... it's the Donegal County tartan in honor of his Dougherty heritage, and he looks HAWT in it! I say go for it!
