For TDEE I set my exercise level to "little/none," and subtract 20%. This way, when I work out, I eat back my exercise calories. I chose this route so that I didn't have to estimate my weekly activity, since it changes often due to my schedule. That being said, my TDEE-20% is about 1680 calories.

I'm in the same spot as you... I started at size 16 and bought a pair of size 10 jeans from the Gap this week! I've been at a size 12 for what seems like forever (probably 2 months), and you're right about the weight coming off more and more slowly. For size 12 I bought two pairs of jeans (I had some size 14 dress pants in…

Weight fluctuates up and down each day, be careful with daily weigh ins. You're not going to lose 9 pounds in 9 days.

The most honest advice I can give you is that it's unrealistic to lose that much weight in that short of a period in a healthy way. The general rule of thumb is that 2lb/week is safe and maintainable. IF you have a lot of weight to lose (50+ pounds) you may be able to lose a bit more than that weekly. I think you're…

I have a B.A. in Advertising and a B.A. in Spanish Language & Linguistics Going back for an M.B.A. in Brand Management in a couple of years (that's the plan, at least). Happy to be successfully working in my field and paying back my loans (slowly).

I bought a fitted shirt-size large-about a month ago from The Loft (when I started I was XL+), and yesterday, my boss told me that it was WAY too baggy! I hadn't noticed, but then I looked in the mirror, and holy cow!! I am avoiding shopping until I'm closer to my goal weight, but it felt GREAT to know that I probably…

It's always insane to me that people are disappointed to hear that you're working your butt off to exercise and watch what you eat, and haven't found a secret pill to melt it all away. Like, c'mon. This stuff ain't easy!!

My brother has done this diet many times in preparation for his wedding. He sees extreme weight loss from this program, but because it is so extreme, he hasn't been able to maintain any of his weight loss. This kind of diet doesn't become a lifestyle change, which is usually necessary to maintain weight loss.

EXACTLY. Her success should be the focus, this isn't a place to bring others down.

SW: 185 lbs GW: 160 lbs Goal Loss: 25 lbs My goal is to lose 2 lbs a week, and this goal is modest. I should lose 34 lbs. in the next 17 weeks, but I want to set an attainable goal! More is always preferred!

I started it today, also. I thought it was a good workout, but with simple enough exercises that I didn't feel incapable to completing the moves. Definitely got me sweating and I was ready to sit down by the end! Let me know how it goes!

Thanks! I love the ideas. Definitely will have to try some of these. I usually just drink black coffee in the morning (because it's so few calories) but every once in a while, my agency treats us to Starbucks! I appreciate all the suggestions!
