  • Haha you're probably right. I'm not going to worry about it just yet, I don't want to pile on too many things at once. For now I'll keep lifting and losing the rest of the padding. Maybe incorporate some more LISS as suggested above but more to keep active rather than a strict program.
  • Thanks everyone for their input. I've always hated the gym because I kind of equaled gym with long boring cardio sessions that nearly killed me. I'm new to lifting, but so far I absolutely love it and for the first time in my life I'm actually looking forward to going. It's not a chore to go. I guess I will need to find a…
  • I've got my own mini rant. Went for a physical a couple of days ago and told my doctor that I lost some weight and she didn't even acknowledge it. Not how much did you lose, not how did you lose it, no well done keep going, just absolutely nothing. And that is after her telling me each year that I should lose weight. At…
  • Thanks. Maybe that's the way to go then instead of spending big $ just so to get the wifi capability when I don't really use any of the other features.
  • Sorry if my op wasn't clear, I'm looking for a new scale.
  • I appreciate the troubleshooting advice but I've been using this scale for years with minimal issues. It's not working right lately that's why I'm looking for a replacement and suggestions of what people use.
  • Yeah I replaced the battery about a week ago and set it up again from scratch but it's still all over the place.
  • Well success :) It's a beautiful Sat afternoon here and I figured the gym might not be too busy to give this squat rack a shot after watching a bunch of videos. And sure enough barely a soul in the gym. Successfully did three sets in the squat rack with just the bar though. But I feel kind of empowered and I think I can…
  • I found this article great to help with my gym anxiety when I started : https://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/a-beginners-guide-to-the-gym-everything-you-need-to-know/?t24=true
  • For me it came down to really wanting it. I've tried countless times to lose weight only to gain it all back and then some. I'm lazy and I like to eat and even though I was unhappy it wasn't enough to get me going. In April I really looked at myself and my future and what I want and something clicked. I set myself a strict…
  • If you keep insisting logging wrong calories it will take a very long time. 1 cup uncooked rice is not 200 calories. Not even close
  • Thanks for the infos ladies. It's definitely exciting seeing that weight disappear like that. Haha I hope to notice some squishy fat at some point closer to my goal too. ;) Onwards and *down*wards, I'm almost halfway.

  • I lost 25 pounds so far and I can't see the difference. I put on my old pants and I'm amazed but looking at myself I see no difference at all. Our brains are deceiving because we look at ourselves in the mirror every day. Best thing you can do is take pictures and you will be able to see the loss.
  • I used to row in college. Many many hours were spent on the ergs as we called them. As others have said, low resistance and typical work out for is was steady state for distance or interval training with different splits/stroke rates. We never completely stopped or did sets though. You get into a nice groove after a while,…
  • Thank you so much for everyone's comments! I've read and re-read them so many times now. It's exactly what I needed to hear. So grateful to you all. I'm proud that even though I was feeling so down and I'm still kind of the same way but I didn't let it affect my eating at all and I'm determined to keep it that way. That…
  • I weigh daily to get a trend. The fluctuations used to drive me crazy until I started you use an app called happy scale which gives you a trend rather than the exact weight each day. I also weighed myself hourly one day out of curiosity. It's really quite fascinating how much the weight jumps around in a single day and I…
  • Thanks for that! I'll get some and see how it works! Great advice for my issue thanks so much everyone!
  • Thanks for the great recommendations! Things are moving but my god I'm miserable. I feel like I don't ever want to eat again, but I'm sure that'll pass. I will be trying some of these suggestions and make sure this doesn't happen again. Curious what the scale will say, I feel like I'm *** pounds.
  • Thanks! I just checked it's 300mg of magnesium oxide that I take
  • Thanks sunna, awesome post. My thyroid was normal just a couple of months ago but I'll look into the rest of things you mentioned. Great resource
  • Thanks for your input, I'm not low carbing at all, so that should be ok. Not really no. I eat some hard cheeses, little bit of milk in my tea and some butter or sour cream for cooking. I don't like it very much to be honest.
  • Not taking a multi or extra iron. I'll make sure to keep an eye on my fiber intake, although it isn't any different than the last 3 months. Well this is like the second time in my life I've resorted to a laxative. I don't think I'm in danger of being dependant on them. I do take magnesium as well for restless leg but I've…
  • Hmm no, I've never been much of a coffee drinker but that's worth a shot a for sure. Would a little espresso be enough?
  • Thanks monstar4kc for sharing your experience. That's really good to read actually. How long did your plateaus last? And how much have you lost in total if you don't mind me asking? I guess what I need to fix are my expectations and just believe in the process. It will work, it simply must if we truly eat less.

  • I don't exercise much as I said, it's really just the steps and I aim to eat about half of those
