Oh oops just peeked at your profile. So not knowing how tall you are your BMR is 1600-1800 a day. Honey you need to eat way more than 1400 especially with that workout routine.

I would say yes but a better guess would be to get one like the Polar FT4 on line. The ones at those big box stores..well you get what you pay for. I got a Polar this week cost about $60 and arrived in less than a week. Although it might not be that far off depending on your size and age do you mind posting your current…

The OP deactivated thier account...can't imagine why.

Good responses! I usually just go to the database and poke around sometimes people have recipies in there for almost exactly what I thought I ate....sometimes I got to a recipie site that has nutrition value and search for it and the pictures help me decide Then I pick something from the database that's close. Is it every…

That does make a difference petite people just need less and burn less. You didn't specify how much you are trying to lose...if it's uner 15 pounds it's going to take some time. I'm 5'1"and 35 also but I don't run. I've been netting around 1300 and doing intense workouts 2 times a week and cardio (elliptical or a long walk…

You know I feel like this just happened to me too. I think maybe I was so out of shape the the workouts I was doing really through my body for a loop and it soterd water and glycogen like crazy b/c it was sure I had lost my mind and would need them. After about 6 weeks my body finally decided this was going to be okay and…

Yep I agree. If you're not using a HRM the exercise calories areprobably a little high so no need to eat 100% of them back. I put my projected exercise in during the day if I'm going to exercise late and I eat most of those exercise calories before hand. It kinda forces me to work out b/c Ialready eat the calories so I…

As long as it fits your calorie goal and macros....I say go for it. After a good workout I often don't feel like eating a big meal and it's good to get extra protein right after a weighs workout,...but my protein smoothies have more like 275 calories. 110 total sounds low for one meal.

I see a lot of people say they have only 15 pounds to lose and they want to lose it yesterday. Well of course their calories are set to 1200 b/c that's as low as it will go. For me I'm 5'1" and am only trying to lose about 10...so yes MFP gave me 1200 calories at first and I got some haters too. Just do what works for…

I'm not an expert but if you're willing to take a slower path on those last 7 pounds it sounds like a good plan to me. That's what I plan to do when I'm close to my goal. I feel like if I go from my deficit straight to maintenance I might gain a little and be disappointed. So a slow easing into it sounds better.

If you jog, walk and do the elliptical that's all cardio I think you need to mix it up with some weights or even exercise that uses your own body weight. I found a deal for 12 boot camp classes and they were a good kickstarter if that's not an option I also bought a kettlebell dvd to do at home which is a good mix of…

It may not affect your weight. it all depends but for me red meat takes a while to um move through so a 8oz steak is all still there the next morning. If it were me I'd move my weigh in a day just this once....but that's just me.

Honestly I think your goal of 140 is great goal. But you really should do it at the 1 pound a week or less rate. If your goal is to tone up your arms and tummy then yoga and core work along with some cardio to burn some extra calories might be good. Helps with flexibility too it's not a fast fix but it does give good…

I would say it's okay to feel full. the only time I wouldn't eat a full meal to cap off calories for the day is if it was too late in the evening. As long as you aren't gorging on unhealthy foods at 9pm or later you should be fine. That said if you're not hungry there's no need to force yourself to eat.

Well thanks but I think we all need to thank 2hobbit for their post pointing to the road map and pinpointing your TDEE and what 20% less than that would be. AWESOME INFO! Also you can up your calories but if have been netting less than 1200 for the last 2 months do it slowly...and maybe just upping slowing in general is a…

This is very true! If you have a HRM and a scale you can get really good at this. 1200 probably isn't bad if you've lost 3.5 in 2 months because the closer you get the harder it seems to be. Just stick with it but I do agree you could probably increase your net cals a little and be okay. If you don't feel hungy though you…

If you really have eaten the same things every day for two months maybe you just need to shake things up. Have you tried a high protein lower carb ratio? Or calorie cycleing (where you have a goal for the week and have some high days and some low)? What kinds of workout are you dong mostly cario or are you lifting weights…

I had been at the same weight for 10+years and about 5 years ago dropped 20 pounds and it took me forever to realize I reall was smaller I'd see people and think "I'm bigger than her." when in reality they were the same size I was I just could't see it. It took me the better part of a year to re-align the truth with my…

Yep. I thought it was only 3 weeks but looking at my progrees report here it was a whole month! My measurements changed so I knew eventually I'd see in on the scale. but on eof those weeks was TOM and I also was retaining water in my muscles b/c I was working then harder than htye are used to. Just this week the scale…

I like this activity calculator at caloriesperhour: http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php It says for 1 hour of Vigorous Tae Bo you burned 925 (for Moderate 740). It takes into account weight but not age. My guess it that's still a little high. Probably some of that time was warm up and cool down. The only way to…

If' you're out of shape the soreness can't be avoided you just have to keep working at it. If you feel your muscles getting tight right after a workout ice them. Crushed ice in a ziplock bag wrapped in a towel about 20-30 min, and unless you have other reasons not to you can take a pain reliever (I go with advil). If…

If you keep the same exercise routine yes It will change some not massive amounts though. But lots of people feel like working out more as they lose weight. However I don't think the MFP calories change as you update you weight that may be a manual process you do every 10-15 pounds or so.

Yep I see it! You're doing good. For a lot of people the face and other places like fingers, hands and feet are the first places the fat disappears from. I think this is kinda annoying b/c I wish it would start on the problem areas...but you have to look at the bright side and know that the process has started and it will…

So the Polar Ft4 is really that much better? anyone have the bronze one it seems to be the cheapest but I'm not sure about the funky color for $60 I hope to wear it for more than just a working out! lol

Really? I needed this topic! So you all like the New Balance....watch e-bay is going to run out after this thread! lol

Okay I always get: skim or 1% milk bananas fresh fruit (grapes and cantaloupe are awesome on the go!) greek yogurt (have yo tried it with extra fruit or granola or nuts for some crunch?) oatmeal (the low cal quick packs are good too) Cheese sticks chicken breast/ pork/ or ground turkey whatever is on sale veggies broccoli…

Is your workout partner a professional? A trainer or nutritionist? I doubt it. So tell them they are nuts! You don;t have to starve to lose weight actually quite the opposite. You need to fuel your body to lose weight. Just a very rough estimate your BMR has to be over 1600 which means 1300 a day is way too little for all…
-
You're getting close to your goal have you re-calculated your numbers recently? I swear if I wanted to I could change mine with every pound...that's probably a bad idea but as you way less your caloric needs will change too. Also the closer you get the slower it seems to go but you can do it, just don't give up.

I know I have been reading up on this lately. So many people bicker about building muscle when you start a new exercise program and finally it clicked. I'm not actually building muscles but I'm working them harder than I ever have and apparetly my muscles think they are helping by retaining water. lol I can't remember if…

I know it doesn't help to hear this but it probably is water. You said you faltered this weekend so you probably had a bit too much sodium, add to that the fact that you have been working your legs really hard (uphill rides etc) not only are you retaining water in general because of the extra sodium, but your leg muscles…
