Each pound is eaqual to 3500 calories so you would have to have a deficit of 3500 calories in a day to lose a pound of fat. So it would be really hard to do that. You could lose a pound of other things though like water, or muscle. Sometimes at first the weight seems to come off f faster and that's often water weight.

It's really his choice but I find that sharing my fun NSVs with people makes them want to join me in living healthy. Not just the pounds I lost but....other NSVs like the definitionin my biceps and abs....I'm sleeping better...My skin has never been this healthy....running is so much easier now that I've lost a few pounds…

Probably not. These are all just estimates But for you, your BMR is 1278 and at sedentary (x1.2 activity level) that would be 1533 for maintenance. I'm guessing you really are more than just sedentary so you'll be fine at 1400 and 1500 even. Try adding calorie dense foods so you're not eating more in volume realy but…
-
If I understand you correctly you are saying 1800 is your normal maintenance so if you lounge around today and eat 1800 calories you want to know if that will affect you? No it shouldn't. If you were ill for several days and missed several workouts that were already built into your maintenance number that might be a small…

If you're worried aboutit the njust do a little at a time and do it slowly so you know when to stop. maybe go to 1300 for a couple weeks then up to 1400 for a couple you may still lose but at a much slower rate and when you get close to your 1600 you should level off but remember those are just estimates your real…

You seem to be doing okay. What I noticed is that you have a lot of low calorie processed breakfast foods....cereal and breakfast bars these are usually higher in carbs and low in protein. Not always a bad thing but there are better choices. You might try changing your macros to a higher protein percentage than what MFP…

Here you go again caring more about what other people think of how your weight loss plan. You need to stop this really. Make your profile completely private and just do this for you. You ae the only one carrying around this extra weight is really going to hurt so you have to do it for YOU. 2300 is fine and if you go over…

Yep....^^^ This. If you only have 9 to lose 1 pound a week is not very realistic. Also depending on your height adn weight 1200 might be below your BMR (it's below mine and I'm a shorty 5'1" 130 pounds). Check out the BMR calculator here under the aps tab and see if maybe that is it. If so raise your calorie goal to your…
-
Hello, Yes with only 30 to lose 1 pound a week is a better goal. also have you figured out your BMR? There's a calulator on here under the aps tab. BMR is the amount of calories you need for you body to function....to keep your heart and lungs going and all tht other stuff you forget burns calories even if you don;t move a…

They have a lower salt verion....but I think it tastes a little different (maybe that's just me) so I stick with the regular kind it's less than 20% of my sodium for the day so in some cases the need for easy low cal protein outweighs the sodium intake. Plain yogurt is alo a good potato topping that has less sodium. =)

Looking at your profile....you're young and you are looking to lose less than 40 pounds total. You don't need ot worry your skin will bounce back just fine . Keep doing exercises that work your core and if it will make you feel better get some skin firming lotion to keep your skin healthy. I use some every day....I'm not…

Honestly, you need tot alk to a professional about this. Your need for approval from others is way off the charts. Are you losing weight for other too? Where does it end? If you're not doing this for you you're setting yourself up for failure. Hmmm is approval from others is that important...then I highly disapprove of…

If you are logging exercise on MFP and going by the calories they are telling you you burned then trying to eat those back...I can see how you would have trouble, those estiamtes seem to be very high. Most people only eat back about half of their exrcise calories unless they use a HRM. Also please consider taking a rest…

About 200 for drinks and more like 500-750 for party snacks. If you drink vodka or Rum with diet soda you can have 3-4 drinks throughout the night on 210 calories so that's what I stick with. Then just try to keep the snacks healthy if they have a veggie tray go there first. Pizza is okay if it's one slice on thin crust…

I see this all the time when someone starts at 1200 a day it does work for a while which is why I never tell someone not to do it but then there comes a point where your body is sick of using it's fat stores to survive. If 20% less than your TDEE is 1554 it's probably a safe bet that your BMR is over 1200 as well (heck…

Neither! HRM are the only way to really know. I'd say the treadmill estimates for me were about 25-30% over.

I know it sees weird b/c you alwasy hear cut your calories to lose weight. MFP is set up with a built in deficit form dieting alone. So when you eat 1270 your deficit is already built in if you don't eat back your exercise calories you are just depriving you body of fuel. Most people have a BMR above 1200 so lets guess…
-
Probably b/c your BMR is 1352 right now. If' you've been eating 1200 for a long time and nothing's happening it's b/c your body thinks you're nuts and it wants more food. (j/k you're not nuts but your body needs more especially in days you work) I would suggest upping your goal to 1300 (the extra 50 will probably work…
-
Well looking at these numbers you could change your MFP goal to 2 pounds a week goal and be okay. As long as you are eating at or above your BMR and eating back exercise calories (but not all if you're not using a HRM the calulators online are WAY off) you should be fine. Your BMR using the MFP calculator is 2642. You can…

You have to eat more. You have 50 pounds to lose still before you hit your goal (from your ticker) so there's no way your BMR is 1200 or below. You ate a protein shake, oatmeal or eggs...can't be more than 250 calories.... tuna and crackers.... again not over 250. then a small hamburger even from McDonalds that's under 400…

I'm always the one to say don't eat below your BMR. I agree with the other poster is just doesn't make sense. However, for a short period of time at the very begining it sometime helps to jumpstart weightloss and motivate peopel who have a sunstantial amount to lose. So if you want to start at 1400 for a month that might…

Who cares what it "looks like" it's a number and it's working for you. Everyone is different. Do what works for you. PERIOD. Did you choose a higher activity level? MFP is set up to let you eat back alories from extra workouts so if you workout for weightloss 6 days a week and put your activity levler at the highest level…

A couple other suggestions.....Start tracking sodium if you are eating out even now and then you'd be surprised how much sodium you're getting this casues excess water retention and can mask some weight loss. Of course you should also curb the fast food some and try to eat more of the good stuff. Another thing that helped…

LMAO Too funny that people who know the OP have chimed in. Yes I had the same problem at first (and I had just started a new job! eek!) took about 3 weeks. So don't be too worried it should be temporary. Word to the wise though after your body gets used to the new eating habits if you go one weekend trip and slip…

Had to do some math since I'm in the US =). You're about 5'4" and 124 pounds and you want to get to 117 So with so little left to go it's going to come off very slow! Your BMR is about 1285 so really I would not drop to 1200. If that feels low to you keep it at 1250-1300. Also eat back some of your exercise calories if not…
-
Okay....well personally Ithink if you're trying to lose almost 150 pounds total then 1200 a day is not really enough....but that's another topic. For Thanksgiving my plan is to burn more calories daily by doing extra little things like: take a walk before/ after dinner with the family, play with the kids more. not even…

Clarification: BMR is your Basal Metabolic Rate. This is the amount of calories you burn just being alive...breathing, and other basic organ functions. So this is what they would feed you if you were in a coma. There are several BMR calculators and they ask basic age, weight, height and gender questions. So for example I'm…

In most cases the goal for 2 pounds a week is below your BMR. If this is he case for you, then I suggest you change your goal to net your BMR. If you're just using the calculators for calories burned only eat back half if you want to know for sure get a HRM (or add it to your Holiday wish list) that wasy you can eat them…

MFP os just a calculator you put in numbers and what you want to lose and spits out numbers on how to do it. But we are people not numbers so sometimes we have to adjust a little. No biggie. I think you're on the right track. I personlly don't think eating below your BMR works all that well when you don't have a lot to…

I'm 5'1 and I always feel a little better with some curves. So My goal right now is 127. I've been as low as 124 but I really prefer to have better muscle tone and be a few pounds heaveir. If 124 was comfrable to you then shoot for that but if you are unhappy with how it looked or feels maybe you should focus more on body…
