  • I know it sounds weird but check this out I'm 5'1" and started at 138. I eat 1300 on non workout days and more like 1700-1800 on good workout days. I'm losing about .7 pounds per week. That's about a pound every 10 days. When I tried 1200 with no exercise calories being eaten back (so 1200 net all the time) I didn't lose…
  • Have you tried HiiT in your carido? High Intesnsity Interval Training. basically it's like runing sprints at intervals throughout your workout. I do it on the elliptical. Go normal speed for a minute or so then kick it up to a crazy speed or for a bit then back to normal...backa nd forth. I'm sure you could find specifics…
  • If you all are saying you want to lose 2 pounds a week and have less than 20 to lose thatmay be why. 1200 is the least it can give you and when you don't have a lot to lose you can't get to a 7000 calorie deficit safely so it just gives you the minimum. If you post your hieght weight age and activity level I'll try to walk…
  • Okay so you take your BMR 1359 and multiply that time your activity monitor I'd say you're at least moderatly active if not Very active but I like to error on the low side. So your TDEE should be 2106 to 2344. So if you eat 20% less than that which is 1684- 1875 every day you should lose. A pound equals 3500 calories so…
  • What's your lifestyle like? desk job? very Active?
  • How do you measure your food? Could you be underestimating your calories or overestimating your burn? The higher the number get the easier it is for estimations to be off I think. Have you tried something inthe middle like 1500 or have you thought about geting a HRM one you wear all tehtime like Body Media to tell you…

  • If you feel good with that exercise routine by all means keep it up! However, you probably should eat back some exercise calories on those days. 2 hours of working out has to burn over 600 calories each time that leaves you with 600 calories net on that day or less. half of what your body needs to function? What do you…
  • It's all up to you. It kind of also depends on how much you are trying to lose. People within 20 pounds of thier goal usually start out at 1 pound per week or less, where as those with more to lose feel great at 2 pounds a week. Why not try the 2 pound s week level and see if you are hungry if you find you need more then…
  • .. Without knowing your stats (curent height, weight, age lifestyle) and goals it's hard to say. I eat just below my BMR b/c I figure estimation and rounding probably gets me to my BMR anyways. So my BMR is about 1360 and my goasl is set to 1300. I eat back almost all of my exercise calories. I would say eat 50 calories up…
  • OP here's the answer to your question since no one else is answering it. Yes, it really is not healthy to eat that few calories andhere's why: Every person has a basic number of calories they need to keep their orgins functioning properly (that why anorexic's suffer heart attacks and kidney faliure they eat so little thier…
  • Have you checked with a doctor maybe you have food allergies. Maybe it's just what you are eating that makes you feel sick not eating in general. I have a freind who couldn't eat wheat and until she figured it out it seemed everything made her feel icky. Just a thought.
  • I know some of the other people are sounding pretty harsh....they are just trying to help. I checked your diary and yes you do need to eat more. even very petite people usually have BMRs over 1200 that's why MFP won't go lower thatn that. Your BMR is what your body needs to function if you eat well below it for too long it…
  • This was just posted somewhere else it's perfect for you to:
  • If you never exercised before and you are now, and doing great by the way, your muscles are probably storing water and glycogen as they repair which masks any weight loss...it's still there if you check your measurements you might still see a change but it will take time for your muscles to get used to your new active…
  • Now is the perfect time to start eating back your exercise calories! Don't be afraid it actually works. I do it. Check my diary if you want...I eat 1300 per day and eat back exercise calories and I lose .7 pounds a week on average that's a pound every 10 days which is a good rate when you're close to your goa like we arel.…
  • No problem go to MyHome> Settings> Diary Settings> and choose public. Everyone will be able to see it and then later if you want you can change to private or just friends. Also let us know what your height, weight, age and lifestyle (sedentary vs active) is so maybe we can help you find some good goals.
  • I tried and I can't see your diary. Just b/c you don't feel hungry doesn't mean you're getting all the nutrients and fuel you need. You could just have een doing it so long you adapted.
  • Had to do some quick math...For the Americans around here. =) So you're 5'4" and at 156 now trying to get to 134. Okay. I see from your profile you're 18 years old so your estimated BMR is 1473, if you're fairly sedintary (desk job) your TDEE will be 1767 which means a 25 cut in calories for you would take you right back…
  • I love that you called us "Petites"! Okay I'm 5"1' right now at 131. Goal is 127 for now (I haven't been below 123 ever not even as a teen lol so 127 is awesome at 35!). I lose on 1300. I'm losing about .70 a week so a pound every 10 days or so. It's slow but I feel like when I go to maintenance it won't all come flooding…
  • Check out my dairy if you want I like easy stuff. For breakfast I do a protein smoothie or instant oatmeal and a hard boiled egg (for protein). The English muffin isn't a bad start try adding some protein peanut butter or maybe fat free cream cheese Lunch is often lowfat greek yogurt I often throw in granola but you have…
  • Yep exactly! MFP is set up to help you lose weight without extra exercise so if you do add some exercise (more than is in your activity level you set) you can eat more sand still have the same deficit. However, when you get closer to your goal you almost have to eat them all back so that you're not under your BMR all the…
  • Ummm if you're eating under your BMR you're not understanding the roadmap. You should be eating 80% of your TDEE. Your TDEE should be at least your BMR times 1.2. When you're close to your goal them numbers sometimes get closer together...but they should't cross.
  • I agree with iWaffle! Change your focus a bit. Try eating a good healthy diet maybe higher protein to promote lean muscle toning and then do more weights and resistance type workouts than cardio. I think you'l find that even if the scale stays the same when you have sexy shapely arms and a tight core and rear end you'll…
  • If that's you in ypur pic you don't appear chubby AT ALL and you pull off your current shape perfectly. If you look in the mirror and see a chubby girl you need to talk to someone and get some help before you go down the eating disorder path. You are beautiful the way you are I hope you see that!
  • Honey...you're 5'2" and 112 pounds you don't need to lose much weight. Even on the low end for a small frame 108 is low....so you were at 106 and you gained 6 pounds and you're freaking out? You might need to re-assess your goals. However I do agree with the previous poster. If you are sore form your weight trainin it is…
  • I get the same thing! Every time there's a new emloyee we have doughnuts or cookies, there's food around all the time not to mention a fully stocked "snack closet" for all emoloyees that's free. Now they try to keep the snaks fairly helathy but there's always cookies or goodies. Then we have clients bring in lunch a lot so…
  • Okay that helps a lot. So 1300 isn't terribly low but you need to eat back your exercise calories. a deficit is already built in to the MFP system so by not eating those back you're really only getting a baseline of 700-1000 a day and you body craves 1500. So fo a while it worked and your body was happily using it's stored…
  • Thats great 50 pounds gone since March! Way to go. Maybe it's just a plateau...lots of people hit them. When you say you watch intake...what does that mean? Have you been counting claories, weighing or measuring everything or just kind of cutting back portions? Obviously whatever you were doing worked very well for a while…
  • Can you give us a little more info. Height,, age...BMR and TDEE if you know them. How much exercise, what kind and do you eat back exercise calories?
  • Whoa! Eating 1300 and working to burn 300-600 a day. Are you eating back those calories? If not that's putting you at around 1000 calories a day at most. What's your BMR? If for a while you were netting well below that and losing it was because you had plenty of fuel stored up to use but sometimes your body starts to think…
