  • I originally bought them in the store in my gym, but when they wore out, I ordered a new pair online. I have Flex Sports Neo-Pro sports gloves. They're padded well and have a nice grip to them. They're inexpensive and my first set lasted me almost 5 years before I purchased a new pair a few years ago.
  • I say for sure with the 2.5lbers. Why do they have to look SO tiny?!
  • You'll just need to try some and see what you like. I can't stand to have my feet get hot while running, so I like the thinnest socks possible and quite honestly the best sock that I've found was some no name generic sock from Target that worked amazing (for me). I also have drymax's that are okay, contains more heat…
  • I typically only run, but my 2014 goals are trying a sprint triathlon and I'm also doing the Ragnar Relay! My only NY Resolution was to try a new race barring injuries and those are definitely both new to me!
  • Well done!! I feel like you could have written my story :) I'm the same height and same pre-pregnancy weight. I had my 3rd (and final) baby in March '13 as well! Good luck with your fitness goals for 2014!
  • I used some calculator that I found online. I ate maintenance my first trimester and then I bumped up I think 200 calories for my 2nd trimester and another 200 my 3rd trimester and I ate back my exercise calories. The bump up in calories came from the website and were specific to me, so find out what you should do…
  • I'm definitely the opposite. I have 3 kids and I exclusively pumped them all. It worked for my family and I didn't find it to be too time consuming. I had a good supply out of the gate and didn't need to worry about supply issues, so I did not have to pump like crazy, I pumped 4 times per day and had more than enough to…
  • I was eh on the book and the workouts. I had been heavy lifting for a long time going into the book and wanted to try someone else's approach and I didn't care for the results. I also run a lot, so I scaled that way back and followed the recommended HIIT and it was too little for what I had been used to. I did enjoy some…
  • When mine reads 0, it's mostly due to my lack of getting it wet enough on the front end. The other problem I have, especially in a boot camp, is I'll stretch my arms overhead or something and it will move out of range of motion or whatever it does. I would get so irritated by it that now I make sure it's wet and then I…
  • If I don't properly wet the chest strap, I get false readings with mine as well. Do you wet it first?
  • Well I can definitely relate to you. I go to the gym at 4 a.m. as well because of the husband/kids aspect of life. I prefer to not eat before I workout, but I do have a basic protein shake right afterwards and before I crawl back into bed. I have to get up and get going for the day by 7, so it's not like I sleep for too…
  • Nice work!! -delivering on Tuesday via scheduled c-section unless I go early -baby #3 - lifting probably 2-3 days per week, cardio 3-4 days and a walk on days where I do nothing. Cardio days are typically swimming, elliptical or bike at this stage. -eating is getting challenging, I think I'm at the stage where I'm like,…
  • I travel extensively for work as well, but all in the US. I pick hotels based on their fitness centers or affiliation to a local gym. Also, I'm fortunate enough to consistently to go to the same locations, so I tend to stay at the same hotel week after week. I need to lift weights. Do I not lift as heavy while on the road?…
  • We are having our third child right now, so we've kept the nursery as is. We purchased gender neutral decorations with the first and have utilized that with the 3. I bought cheaper furniture. Is it fantastic? Absolutely not, but I put a convertible crib, regular dresser, book case, changing table (free standing) and glider…
  • It will happen this week at least! Are you still on track to be induced by Thursday if no babe?
  • I am so ready to be done! 18 days and counting...My SIL who was due a day before me had her baby this past week. I'm not expecting to go early at all. So still 18 more days to go.
  • I would disclose it and see what their policies are. While they can't guarantee it, they may have a policy where it's not completely unheard of to take time off either or they would be willing to work with a delayed start date. You never know unless you ask and if you're honest up front, it will just make things easier. I…
  • I run both of my dogs. They're of different fitness levels. My oldest is an almost 10 year old rott mix and my little one is a 7 year old lab / beagle mix. We have always walked them together since the youngest was a puppy and I started running them shortly after. The little one has more energy and in better shape, so she…
  • We have the beachbody mat and use it on a carpeted floor. My husband uses it more than I. It stays in place and we haven't had any problems with it. The problem we found when we were shopping for a mat is that to get an asorbing mat for cusion and one that doesn't move, the price point was really close to the Beachbody…
  • I eat back my exercise calories and I updated my calories with each trimester. I'm currently 37 weeks and up 31lbs, which for me (this is my 3rd child) is normal for my weight gain average.
  • My OB told me to leave mine at pre-pregnancy and that the additional calories was nominal so not to worry about it as I put on weight.
  • I'm not familiar with the strong lift program, but I've done regular weight lifting as well as NROL4W and I'm 3 weeks from delivering my 3rd kid. My upper lifts didn't change much as I progressed throughout my pregnancy. I had to do some adaptations, i.e. incline press instead of bench, etc, but not until around 20 weeks…
  • This! I don't eat them all back. It's just some times impossible on long run days. Recovery after a long run, I make sure my meals are 4:1 carbs to protein, other than that, my goal is 40/30/30 for carbs/fats/protein macro levels. And I'm also not trying to lose weight and never really got into the whole carbo loading…
  • I hate when I hear another woman say she wants to "tone up".
  • I use MuscleTech in chocolate or vanilla. I workout at 4 a.m. and have a scoop mixed with water immediately after my workout. It's low in calorie by itself, but if you're looking for a meal replacement, then I add in milk, pb and spinach for more calories.
  • I only do tire flips during boot camp, but I can easily do them. The key for me is to getting under it in a good starting position with a good hand position and it easily flips. Really concentrate on the whole lift with your legs, not your back bit.
  • Definitely this!! Don't stress, you're so close. Have you tried one of those pregnancy calorie calculators instead of using maintenance to find out your number of target calories? I have my profile set to maintenance as well, but I manually entered in my maintenance calories based on a pregnancy calculator that I used and…
  • I didn't have any problems with leaks with the breast flow and the avent classic, but I know that others have complained about Avent ones leaking. Also - side note on the Lansinoh bags or whatever they're called, I used these exclusively (I have a medela pump), but a little tip I found was to just slice of about 1/3 inch…
  • Hopefully you're both able to have your VBAC's, but I can tell you that recovery after a scheduled c section is really easy compared to what I went through with my vaginal delivery with my first son (only because of the problems that I had delivering him lead to my scheduled c-section with my second son). So if you have to…
  • I don't play basketball, but I'm married to a former college player who still plays actively at our club and in various leagues. That said, I bought his last inserts at REI. I can't remember the exact name, but they were the type that he had to bring back in and they cut them to his feet and he loved them in his shoes. He…
