URL for the recipe is below. I often use chicken broth instead of vegetable because I don't normally have the veggie handy. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/coconut-curry-pumpkin-soup

You guys are going to love me, lol. I use limited amounts of meat and lots of herbs and vegetables. We also do 2 turkeys because the price is good: sandwich meat stir fry pot pie turkey & rice soup turkey noodle turkey cabbage rolls turkey stock After I've stripped off as much meat as I can from the bird, I crack the bones…

I've just gotten back on track bout 3 weeks ago. After the two weeks with no scale movement despite my trainer punishing me. Trust me, my heart rate is up there!. I'm pretty sure the food is OK but I decided to go on Herbalife. I started this week. Friends of mine have each taken off 50 lbs on the program so it's worth a…

I've been off the bandwagon for awhile but the point is to keep trying. 2 weeks ago I hired a trainer to see me 4 times. It is a good way to get into a routine and I can hire him for more sessions as I need to challenge myself. With my calorie intake I should loose a pound a week. I've GAINED 8 lbs since I've started…

I recently read some things about diet soda and it quoted real medical studies as opposed to the nutty ones where one person had a reaction one time and it set the bar for the tin-foil wearing masses. Here's what I've learned: 1. Kidney Problems An 11 year study at Harvard Medical school with over 3000 women shows a…

My family has always went with, "Eat what I put in front of you or don't eat" I am happy to report my husband and daughter are still alive.

I am on board with the diet coke. I know a few people and also know of others who've hit the diet coke hard and ended up with cancer. Kind of odd to have so many with the same cause of death.

LMAO For some reason I'm getting a mental picture of that cartoon character Maxine. She is standing on a treadmill in her robe with curlers in her hair, a cigarette is hanging out of her mouth and a steaming cup of hot coffee is in her hand. Time for bed, I'm getting loopy.

Once a week usually but the scale I was using belonged to my husbands grandmother. She was staying with us for the winter. It moved out when she did. I gots to by me a new scale. I would get the slick one that just beams my weight to MFP but there are sometimes I want to weigh in the next day because I know I've got some…

They are an international grocery chain. I shop there frequently and feed a family of 5 for an average of $75 a week. That would be us, the In-laws, and our teen. This low expense is also due to the fact I grow a lot of my own and all the neighbors are Amish. I get free food all the time. <inserting shameless bragging>Last…

So much for no excuses *eye roll* Since this post I recovered from a cold that had me in bed for 3 days, had back pain on the left side and recovered from that for all of a day before my right side with that lovely sciatic nerve began acting up. Yup, nothing but couch, bathroom, drugs, repeat as needed for almost 2 weeks.…

I am working myself into exercising more. 3-5 days a week right off the bat would make me quit pretty quick. I'm doing a Zumba Gold class every Thursday right now. It is lower impact and there are weights used during the class so I get cardio & weight lifting. As the weight is coming off I am adding more activity. We all…

WAIT, what?! You are in Michigan? I'm in Michigan down by the Ohio-Indiana border. Where are you? Wanna play?.....or shop?

I have a Fitbit zip and love it. I just clip the thing between the "girls" in the morning and forget it is there. Nope, wear it and make sure you know what time you are getting on and off the exercise machines. Here's the deal, when you register the FitBit with their site and set it up on MFP you will have more options on…

I do quiche in muffin tins. Individual portion sizes are frozen and can just go in a single large zip lock bag in the freezer. Other than that I just chop the vegies and pre wash the lettuce. I grow most of my own vegetables. Beyond a few small items like the quiche there is rarely room in the freezer for premade meals. : )

My 'sins' change with my mood. Today was a planned thing. Fried Ice Cream and 5 cups of coffee for breakfast. This was followed by rapid house cleaning, an hour of Zumba, raking the yard, and a 2 mile walk. It is almost 10 pm and I'm still vibrating. I see Advil in my future.

Ate fried ice cream for breakfast and had 5 coffees. I FEEL GOOD! One hour of zumba and a 2 mile walk to burn it off. 12,300 steps so far today ladies. see that dust up ahead? that's me.

Planning is key. Get a good idea of what the menu for the week will be and spend some time prepping. It is a snap to cook if your vegetables are already washed and cut, just sitting in the fridge waiting to be thrown in the pan. I also make soups and casseroles to throw in the freezer to be used the days I'm to busy or…

I've replaced all my dinner plates with smaller 8.5 inch plates. My portions look much larger now. lol.

I haven't been a deliberate clean eater until this year. I still buy some processed stuff and don't turn my nose up at a an occasional pizza but overall the food is fresh. At the moment I am seeing how I can do with completely clean eating on a vegan diet. Honestly it's mainly to experiment with food because I like to…

Starting weight (SW)248.8 Current Weight (CW) 244.8 Goal Weight (GW) 145 Portion control is easier as I become more comfortable with proper sizes and weights. My biggest struggle has been the temptation to go to the local restaurant. It's this tiny little dive that has recently been rented by a professional chef. OMG the…

Curried Butternut & Kale I'm sure there's probably a recipe out there on the web for this if you look. In this case, I was fooling around in the kitchen and came up with a meal I'll definitely make again. It's quick and easy. There are no real measurements, sorry. I was winging it. Peel and cube a butternut squash and…

I guess I'm in SE. I tend to think of myself as being in South central, Michigan, I'm 3 miles from being dead center and only 6 miles from both Indiana and Ohio.
