Not getting the connect between rat feces and Paleo. I'm sure paleolithic caves were infested with rats, and any stored food would likely be covered in rat droppings. Rats are not a modern invention. btw - if you eat organic, you are going to be getting a lot more than rat feces on your food. Cow feces, sheep feces, pig…

Pssst - shaleyn was not being serious. Don't add raspberry ketones! How long have you been stalled for? 2 weeks of no loss isn't a plateau. You say you've lost 39 lb in 52 days - that is a lot of loss very fast. Over 5 lb per week! Normally, healthy loss is around 1-2 lb per week, if you have a lot to lose. Your current…

Age : 46, male. Before & after weight : Max was about 210 lb. Maintaining at about 168 (+/- about 3 lbs) for 1 year. Start & goal reached date : Started losing weight about 2 years ago Best strategy for removing weight : Eat and drink less; move more. Cutting down on the beer was a biggie for me, but I never cut it out…

Interesting. Here is a link to the PDF of the original article for those interested: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3168743/pdf/125_2011_Article_2204.pdf The idea for the study was sparked, apparently, by noticing that patients having bariatric surgery had improved blood sugar levels 1 week after surgery - too…

Was it blinking yellow for the traffic from the cross street? If so - you treat the red as a stop, but they only treat it as a caution, and have right of way. Course, if it is flashing red on all sides, then it is a 4-way stop. One of my pet peeves is when people treat a flashing yellow as a stop, instead of a caution.

Check Craigslist for used equipment. I got an olympic barbell set plus a power rack for about $300. I think free weights give you a better work out that a machine... but your goals/space/budget etc will help determine what you should get.

Greek Gods has 6 g protein and 10 oz carbs per 6 oz: http://www.greekgodsyogurt.com/html/ynonfat.php Chobani has 18 g protein and 7 g carbs per 6 oz: http://chobani.com/products/non-fat-plain/ Fage is similar to Chobani: http://www.fageusa.com/products/fage-total-0-percent/ I actually like the texture of the full fat ones…

Is it a flaw? Yes. Is it a fundamental flaw that invalidates everything else he has to say? No. I don't condone homophobia or misogyny in my friends; that doesn't mean that sometimes some of my friends come out with homophobic or misogynistic comments. Not everybody is perfect in every way. Plus Rip is right about gloves:…

Whey has been purified from milk, so yes, it's the same protein as found in milk. Not the same as protein from a steak. Whey is supposedly "fast digesting", so it isn't intended to keep you full for long periods of time - it's untended to be a pre- or post-workout supplement. To this end, some of the powders you buy will…

As awesome as I am, most people I meet are not going to love me. Some of them won't even like me. But I do hope that they respect me for who I am and what I do. In a relationship, you need both. But then I'd say if you love someone but don't respect them, you are doing it wrong.

Me too! On the off chance I do match, you can be sure my gf got me dressed that day!

I had to cut down on carbs because of pre-diabetes. But I haven't given them up! And I'm never ever ever giving up beer :drinker:

DL is over 1.5 x body weight, and squat is getting close to 1.5 x. I can bench press my girlfriend's body weight - does that count?

A high quality PROTEIN shake is going to be low calorie and high protein, with very little in the way of carbs or fat. Protein can help keep you feeling fuller longer, so if you have a tendency to snack on crap in the morning at the office, a protein shake beforehand might help. You can also find "meal replacement shakes"…

Sprints are good, but I don't think they are a magic drug. Also, I doubt you got that much benefit from just one sprint session. You are probably just getting fitter overall (which is a good thing).

Can I change my username to "Moderation"?

I'm going to read the report, but the bit I bolded struck me from your quote. Are lifestyle commentators truly excluded, or are they simply not interested in the science? Because I'd have to say it seems like the latter to me...

Even distilled water has some stuff in it. Better get distilled, de-ionized, reverse osmosed 18 milliOhm water.

Of course sweat is needed, but excessive sweating isn't about getting a bit damp while walking outside when it's hot. I'd have a shower, put on antiperspirant and a fresh shirt and have soaked armpits 10 mins later. Doing nothing except sit in an air-conditioned room.

If they have a lot of body fat to go, they will continue to lose that, and gain strength (but not a lot of muscle) until strength gains from neuromuscular adaptation stall (these gains can be quite significant!). If they don't have a lot of body fat, they should be eating near or at maintenance to avoid muscle loss!

I have hyperhidrosis under my arms. "Clinical strength" antiperspirants from the drug store didn't help. My Doctor prescribed me 20% aluminum chloride hexahydrate I apply at night (3 nights in a row at first, then once a week). Seems to have stopped the sweating for me! I'm not sure if it'd work for your area, but I'd…

True, but you need to pay out thousands of dollars and be hooked up to a lie detector or it doesn't work.

Lol! One of those two...

Urine is non-toxic - although it contains waste products (urea, creatine, salts and ions) these are not harmful in the concentrations present in normal urine. Most urine is also sterile, unless you have a urinary tract infection. Even then, the number of bacteria per urination will be quite small. And they are getting…

Drink good craft beer. Just don't drink too many of them. Make them fit into your macros. I lost 40 lb by primarily cutting down on my beer consumption, but never have I cut it out.

When I do HIIT, on an elliptical, I usually just go for 30 mins (1+1) and call it a day. If you do it properly, you'll be exhausted, so won't get a good second workout in anyway. I like to be fresh when I hit the weights, so I can lift as much as possible. I did do the "lean body" workout for a bit though that had you…

That's why I always pretend to be on the phone when I'm checking out: so you can't ask me for my phone number or email, or try to force another credit card on me...

Why? Do you feel it's only doing you good if you suffer? Your liver and kidneys probably work just fine as it is. No "detox" diet is going to shift anything from your body you wouldn't normally get rid off. And who cares about losing water weight? It fluctuates anyway. Focus on losing FAT.

Do they have to be pink too? :noway:
