  • Fabulous job! Even more than the physical changes, the changes you've made in your confidence, self worth and attitude are awesome! Very inspirational! Well done, keep it up!
  • Another walking advocate here. I could walk for maybe 5 minutes when I first started. Now I walk at least an hour every day on purposeful exercise walks and make it a point to take extra steps during the day whenever I can. That means parking far away from stores, getting up and moving around while working, etc. It helped…
  • Wow, well done, incredible transformation inside and out! You look fantastic and I'm so happy for you! Thanks for sharing your story. :flowerforyou:
  • I really like that quote: "we can't outrun our forks". Thanks for sharing this article!
  • Wow, well done! Thanks for sharing your story! It's really inspiring to see folks in our age range making successful life changes like this, it's never too late! :flowerforyou:
  • I am 5'1", lost 129 so far, still working on it! Before: After: Here is my one year progress story: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1075986-55-years-old-1-year-126-pounds-lost
  • I've lost 129 in just over a year and still more to go. No surgery, no gimmicks, just concentrating on a healthy lifestyle. BTW I'm short and 55, if I can do it, YOU can do it! :flowerforyou: Before: After: Here's the story of my first year: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1075986-55-years-old-1-year-126-pounds-lost
  • I would say "act as if". If your actions (that includes diet, exercise, caring for your health physically and emotionally) are those of a healthy person, you will become a healthy person.
  • Feeling so desperately tired all the time, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis in knee, high blood pressure, uncomfortable in my own body physically and mentally. Ugh, I never want to go back there. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1075986-55-years-old-1-year-126-pounds-lost
  • Hi there, I am in the process of losing over 160 pounds. I'm a bit further along in the process, but would love to be a motivational and supportive friend to others trying to lose a significant amount of weight. Here is my first year on MFP; if I can do it, you can do it too!!!…
  • The part I like the best is when they have the private detective guys watching them after the people think the filming is done. And when they're meeting in the restaurant and the wall opens up to the big table of the food they've eaten all week. Wow, nowhere to hide from that. Sometimes you need someone to force you to…
  • Love love love Costco! They have high quality items at a great price! Canned tuna Frozen Ahi Tuna Frozen Tilapia loins Frozen raw shrimp Frozen wild caught salmon Raw almonds Raw walnuts Raisins Great fresh produce! Berries, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, oranges, melons, on and on Chicken breasts (packaged ready for the…
  • This for me too with the addition of feeling a healthier, stronger and more empowered.
  • Definitely for me too. My hair is longer than it's ever been and my hairdresser even remarked how incredibly fast it's been growing. My skin also looks really nice. I can't attribute these changes to a specific food, but rather a combination of eating really healthy choices, getting a lot of water and being more active.
  • Hi Helen, What a great introductory post, welcome! With such a great attitude, I predict success! :flowerforyou: Kat
  • I'm 55 and proof it can be done! I've been at this just a bit over a year and having some great results. Still more to go, but well on the way. • I'm 55 (how did that happen?) and I've lost 129 pounds so far, last week was my 1 year mark on MFP. I am 5'1" and have lost steadily, slightly slower now than in the beginning, but still moving along. Here's my story: <a href="http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1075986-55-years-old-1-year-126-pounds-lost"> I have…
  • I just wanted to thank everybody who posted in here, you really made a huge impact on me! It was great to look at my own journey through other eyes and it's really motivating to me that you took the time to wish me well and share your thoughts. I will come back here often and reread your comments. Thank you so much!…
  • Super results, well done! You look so happy! :flowerforyou:
  • Outstanding accomplishment, well done! :flowerforyou:
  • I love them! I have yet to try one I don't like. I split them in half and use that as a portion. Very filling and a nice treat of protein and fiber. Nom nom!
  • Congratulations, well done! And great advice! :flowerforyou:
  • Big walker here. My main exercise is walking. When I first started, I could only walk for about 5 minutes, but now, I feel like I can walk endlessly! I'm also a late discoverer of dogs, and now my Morkie is my constant walking companion, he's so energetic! I live in rural area, so we have great walks up and down the lane…
  • Thanks for the coupon! Quest bars are excellent, worth it in my opinion. :drinker:
  • Walking is great. It feels good to get outside and little by little you can build up to longer walks. It's energizing!
  • Wow, that looks interesting and delicious, think I might try it. Thanks for sharing! :drinker:
  • When your children are now older than you were when you had them. When you reminisce about the smell of a fresh ditto. When you remember watching TV in black and white, with a rabbit ear antenna that was built in, and there was no remote, you had to get up and actually turn a knob to change the channel but there wasn't…
  • OK Ladies, I am going to make a valiant attempt to catch up. I’ve been really busy with work this week, but did manage to meet the goals I set this month (so far). I survived the dentist visit, although I was 2.5 hours in the chair of doom getting the plaque removed. But, all things considered, not too bad. Next week they…
  • Mine is open to friends. I love getting new ideas from my friends' diaries, and also when they see what I am eating sometimes they send me a new link or recipe for that food. It's disappointing when a friend does not share their diary, but I respect their decision. I tend to choose my friends carefully, so I really haven't…
  • Oh poo, I've fallen behind! I apologize ladies! :flowerforyou: On track with my goals thus far this month. Went to the gym again today and made the appt with the trainer for tmrw, that was one of my goals. Starting to get nervous about the dentist appt Weds, but still going! Even though it's hot & humid 90's, still walked…
