I live in central New York (Syracuse, NY) We have quite a few state parks and local parks that have great trails, we also have 2 local ski resorts nearby. There is a HUGE mall currently called The Carousel soon to be remained Destiny USA, plenty of free walking there! In the summertime we have our lakes and beaches with…

Hi Katie, If you do see The Devil Inside, let us know what you think, I love horror/sci fi flicks and heard this one scares the pants off you- even for the die-hards. I saw the foreign flick of the Lady with the Dragon Tatoo, but didn't see the American version, the foreign flick was excellent! Would like to see the…

Women eat too much chocolate? Seriously, isn't it because of their metabolism? Plus they don't have to deal with the "monthly" issues where you gain 5 lbs. in one week just because it's that time of the month. Then you get discourage cuz you may crave salty foods, like that's gonna help!

I have treadmill that I wore thin! Lost 52 lbs in one year (gained 1/2 of it back though :grumble: ) I have a piece of equipment that works your legs/calves. You sit on it and it has handle bars, you push back and forth have no idea what it is called. A pilates machine. A suzanne summers thigh buster (remember those). An…

Awsome advise! It looks like the Wii is the way to go, I can't wait to get better and have fun exercising

Great ideas on the stretchy bands, weights and the medicine ball. Yes, I'm the one who has the workout items, use them a couple of time and then put it aside. I want to invest in the WII, everyone raves about it but will I use it consistently? Today after work, I'll schedule a 15 min. upperbody workout (slow and easy).…

Hi Gemma Turn off the TV and get on the computer! I had foot surgery two months ago and I'm just beginning to "sloth" around. I did not turn the TV on and instead used myfitness pal to it's FULL potential. I added friends (who really helped me when I was really down on myself) I joined a group forum that works for me and…

Quote from earlier post: I've began using MFP late last year while attending WW. I continued to attend WW because I liked the camaraderie. I'm looking for a different support group now...perhaps TOPS? Haven't quite gotten into the hang of support via internet. Any suggestions? ******************************* I started…

Hi, feel free to add me. Having friends on MFP makes a HUGE difference. I find I am logging in everyday and completing my diary, if that's not motivation I don't know what is:drinker:
-
HI! Feel free to add me as a friend, you'll be surprised how you stick with it when you add friends. I've been a member since November 2010 and was always on again/off again. I've actually stayed with MFP because I started adding friends and using it to its full potential! Awsome website, great support. Good luck on your…

Some ideas to lower the calories when you're drinking with friends: try wine with ice or maybe drink water between drinks. I try to keep it for the weekend, but if its been a tough day I'll have one to unwind.

Hi Melissa, My name is Kathy and feel free to add me for support. I too have been on WW and lost a lot of weight, but find MFP just as successful.

Hi Audrey, My name is Kathy and you can add me as a friend. The support you get from MFP is great, I've been a member since November 2010 and have been on-again, off-again. Having friends does help me stick with it this time around! If anyone is looking to add friends, feel free to add me on:smile:

You're doing great! As long as you're exercising in some way, watching your portions and writing it all down you'll make it through this holiday. Just take it one day at a time
-
After thinking about it, I thought I would post a personal challenge - my challenge it to lose 1 lb by Thursday's weigh-in. So here's the stats: Total lbs to Lose: 21, by next Thursday 20 lbs.
-
Weigh in on Thursdays! I'm due for a change and looking forward to the challenge for this week. Count me in as well :flowerforyou:

This has happened to me also, you are aware of it and that's half the battle. I've been taking it one day at a time, no more "snacking" after dinner, drinking more water, try to log in every BLT (bites, licks and taste). You'll get there, you did it before and that's an awsome accompishment!

If you're new to fish, my suggestion would be go with a mild fish like Haddock or a Tuna Filet. Tuna Filet is best grilled, Haddock baked.
-
The key is to know only you can make it happen, you did it once and you can do it again! MFP is great support and I know you will succeed if you put your mind to it and seek help when needed
