They're so right about ab fat...it sticks unless you change your diet and add cardio. However, I do find that I get a cute little waist (briefly!) when I really concentrate on getting my ab workouts in around my cardio and strength training. Doing lots of reps and several different exercises helps. Make sure you're getting…

You're so right (about the french fries and hockey too...my grandparents are from Quebec and no one understands that in the States)...i feel less like having that extra beer when I know that the counter is going to go up...You'll be --- in 5 weeks...want that to keep going down! :-)

Feels good doesn't it? Good for you that's awesome!

If I'm sweating or if my heart rate is up for an extended time, then I consider it heavy (cleaning bathrooms, vaccumming, shampooing carpets/scrubbing). If not, then I consider it light (dusting, doing dishes, picking up stuff the bf leaves on the floor, etc.).

Funny how they can sneak calories into salads...most entree salads at restaurants contain TWICE the calories of a piece of lean meat with two sensible sides.

Think I get a little too obsessed sometimes...need to cut back, relax....thanks for the support. That's why I posted, to get me out of my head. You guys are awesome.

I was never a huge fan of eggs either, so here are a couple of tricks I've figured out. 1. Add milk to scrambled eggs and omlettes (just a touch, not much). This adds fluffiness. 2. Know your texture....I hate burnt eggs, but kind of like poached ones. 3. Add flavor....cheese, spices, veggies, anything that makes it taste…

Can't wait to see tonight's pic! You're awesome, what are your best tips?
-
Use salad plates and keep some water on hand to sip!

I think that it's something that you have to get used to, unfortunately. I know that i came from a 'clean your plate' family, so as a result I think that I grew up OVER full, so now that I'm eating sensibly I feel starving. Know that you're giving your body what it needs, and your body will adjust. I also find that certain…

Get your workouts in! Also, try to sip a little slower, and go for a bottled beer instead of a draft, because it stays colder and for some reason, I feel like I sip it slower!

I find that when I'm stressed late at night I get cravings, and I want to 'treat' myself to get rid of the stress. So I keep snacks on hand that are still healthy, but are filling and feel like a treat. I love popcorn with a little bit of parmesean, or a whole grain mini bagel with cream cheese. It takes the edge off…

Curried Chicken Soup w/Rice...new recipe!
-
Top with a little parmesean and olive oil and roast at 350 until crispy...yummy!
-
I agree that the default protein settings are a little low. Do what works for you. For me, I know that I feel better when I eat a little less carbs and a little more protein.

Have a music mantra! Depends on my mood, but here are some of my favorites: "Stronger" by Kanye West "Waiting" by Carrie Underwood "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus....sad, I know, but it's so freakin' catchy! "Can't Make a Ho a Housewife" by Snoop Dog and several others...put on a song you love and jam!

You guys are great... Think I'm combining the advice for spicy food and chicken soup and trying a Curried Chicken Soup recipe that I found. I'll let you know if it's any good!

Thanks!

Get up and walk around (if you can obviously), read a fitness magazine, or hey, log into this site every time you feel a craving coming on. Getting your mind off of it can help. If you have time, try shopping in small amounts for food. I only have just enough food for myself and my boyfriend, so generally there isn't…

I feel this same way sometimes, especially about doing it two or three days a week then falling off. Honestly, so far this site has helped worlds in terms of keeping me motivated, because it's so easy to keep track of and the site community is so supportive. I also plan out my workouts and food beforehand because I feel…

Would love some support too! I'll friend you...I'm a 23 year-old looking to get back in shape!
-
Keep going strong and you'll make it!

Awesome job! I did the same thing when my boyfriend begged for McDs for lunch...got myself a Smart Ones and didn't have a single fry!

I have a hard time committing to eating healthy and working out too. I always start a program with the best intentions, then fall off the bandwagon. Here are a couple of things that are helping me this time: 1. Keep changing it up: do a different workout every day (this helps your muscles too!) 2. Get your mind occupied. I…

I'm new too! Added...and congrats on your first 12!

Chili....pack your recipe with veggies and beans instead of tons of meat, or make it with turkey. Gets the house smelling great too!
-
Sounds like a great recipe! I think I'll try it!

You look beautiful...hope you feel as good as you look!

Be very, very careful. Weight is a touchy subject for all of us, and we can quickly take a weight gain or loss very personally. Be careful that your weight loss isn't driving how you feel about yourself. Also, leave room to cut loose a little bit...just to give yourself a break. Then it's not an obsession. As a former…

Try switching up your workouts so it doesn't feel so routine. If I do the same thing for too long, I get bored and stop working hard. You could also try signing up for a 5K or other race to keep you motivated.
