  • Kiki from NC, add me if you like! <3
  • I started using the HRM count instead of MFP's count in March. The numbers on my HRM are bigger than the ones on the website, and I've lost 18 lbs using those calorie counts. I think the HRM is more accurate as long as you program it to your own specifications (weight, age, etc). Either way, the key that works for me is…
  • I wear my HRM only for my workouts, but I've noticed that both the gym machines and MFP don't come anywhere close to what I've actually burned during a workout. I love that it's much more accurate and it's helped me to calculate my calories in so I can lose weight quicker. I stick closer to 1550 calories/day but burn…
  • You can all add me! I have an open diary, even though I eat the same stuff pretty much every day, so I'm not sure what ideas you'll get from me. My goal is to be down 40 lbs by November (I also have a Disney trip coming up) and I'm pretty committed to this website so I'm on here often. Had a "fell off the wagon" weekend…
  • I haven't had any crashes, but my timeline is always wrong. A status that showed up as logged in "five minutes ago" will show up the same way hours later. It's a really good app, but def needs some tweaking.
  • I LOVE the Centergy class- it looks so easy but it's such a challenge. Power is fun as it's a mix of cardio and lifting but I think you get more of a benefit from the cardio than the lifting. Thanks for the input!
  • IF I am correct (and I may not be lol) it's avoiding processed foods and the chemicals in them. I read somewhere earlier that "if it's a plant, it's ok to eat, if it comes from a plant (factory), it's not". Basically I am overloading on the salads and brown rice and fruits, but I'm using Olive Garden salad dressing, which…
  • I know NOTHING about digestive enzymes, but having done a Disney trip about 4 months ago, I offer just a little advice - start walking now. You may have heard this advice before or even know from a previous trip, but you will do a slightly insane amount of walking there. Start training now, you will build up your endurance…
  • Same height, 213 as of this morning. Started off on MFP with a bang in August, then slowed, then forgot about it, then got on a scale and realized I weighed more than when I originally started. So yeah, I'm back and could also use some help :)
  • Cadbury Royal Dark is how I get through my ugliest days. That oreo one sounds evilly delicious.
  • I injured my back a few years ago when I slipped while pushing something heavy. It shouldn't have messed me up, but I ended up herniating two discs and dislocating four vertebrae. This is a link to some of the exercises my physical therapist had me do. With my injury, once it's done, there's really no fixing it outside of…
  • Welcome! I'm also in TX and always looking for people nearby to complain about the heat with :) Feel free to add me!
  • Ok, pics were WAY too big the first time. Maggie, a rescued border collie mix who thinks she's a lap dog. Loves kids, chicken, and sleeping on the couch. Adores chasing cats, but always lets them go so she can chase them some more. Favorite dog ever.
  • gonna try this again :)
  • I just made brownies using applesauce instead of oil. Chocolate craving is out of control!
  • That's awesome! Much more control than I would have - way to go!
  • Was living in Denver, working nights, and Tuesday was a day off for me. Woke up when my phone started ringing - friends in Virginia were calling to ask if my parents were ok. They don't live in NYC, but in NY state, and everything was so chaotic in the first few hours, I couldn't get ahold of them because the phone lines…
  • Only thing that comes up under "Crunch" is something involving Thomas the Tank Engine. So, that video won't be helpful lol. But thanks for the suggestion!
  • I want other people to look at me and think, wow, she's inspired me to get healthy too!
  • I do, because I no longer have the same over-confidence about surviving crashes that I did when I was a kid. The chances you will be in a life threatening accident are slim... but the chances of SURVIVING a life threatening accident if you are wearing a helmet are much higher than if you are not. It only takes once. And…
  • I keep Dreyer's Fruit Bars in the freezer (might be Edy's where you are) - the strawberry ones are 80 calories and they taste AMAZING! You can also get them in no sugar added form, but I'm just not that good :) For chocolate, I freeze Rolo's candy and allow myself one or two a day - 28 cal/piece.
  • k.d. Lang - Constant Craving = God Sent Gravy .... didn't make a whole lot of sense at the time, but that's what I thought it was when I was a kid!
  • Everyone can make up their own mind on this topic, but I suggest you watch certain documentaries on it, like "Food, Inc" and "The Vanishing of the Bees". Educate yourselves on GMOs and decide if genetically modified food is something you want as part of your diet. I bought both regular Gala apples and organic ones on my…
  • Didn't have time to read the whole thread so hope I'm not repeating someone: 4-6 chicken breasts (frozen or thawed) 1 packet of italian dressing mix (dry) 1 cup chicken broth Combine all ingredients, cook on low 6-8 hours. Serve over brown rice. I'm going to try it with a quinoa/veggie mix next time :)
  • I'm new - I'm not here to diet but to change my lifestyle. I am not a vegetarian, but I do enjoy some vegetarian meals and would like to add more to my recipes. Feel free to add me, I'm on here constantly :)
  • I eat usually about three hours after I wake up. I won't get hungry until after I've moved around a bit, taken the dog for a walk, worked out, etc. It's been like that since I was a kid.
  • I started yesterday, did day 2 today, and I haven't been this sore in a long time, shoulders and quads are burning even while sitting down. It's a GREAT workout tho - just be prepared to hurt for a bit. Advil is my friend.
