It's the night time snacking for me, mostly out of boredom and habit >.< I save myself some calories for some healthy munchies at night now, but it's challenging to break the old habit.

@srcantgiveup Will do, the more the merrier :) @kristyntj I totally understand the frustrations of the weight loss rollercoaster. It's not an easy road to go on, if it were we wouldn't be here hehe And grats on your loss so far! I honestly think are some of the best keys to sustainability: planning, moderation and…

Awesome, will do! Can never have too much support on this journey imo :D

I'd LOVE to go to SDCC again, only been once and I got the comic con cruds within the first night XD The difficulty now is even trying to get tickets >.<
-
Always happy to give and receive more support! Also you can never have too many tasty recipe options in my book (big foodie here). I have 75lbs to lose and a long windy road ahead, feel free to add me :)

How much weight do you have to lose?

@Fitgirl_666 It's such a fun weekend! All the nerdiness, cosplay, comics and great foodie spots you could want. Walking around everywhere all day for a few days balances out the foodie dinners (we usually go to Trader Joe's before and stock up on healthy snacks and meals, but eat at some amazing restaurants for dinner) :D

@BluFoxxe Final Fantasy! And baby chocobo?! Haha you'll have to share pics when that costume is done, I'd love to see it. The long-term cosplay aspiration is to pull off a solid Catwoman. Not the most original idea maybe, but I figured no matter the material a skin tight body suit is also the least forgiving so it'll…

* I'd say no more thigh rub but let's be honest... they're glued together in a constant battle to separate. Like Siamese twins >.> * Wearing clothes I actually want to wear vs. things that camouflage my rolls. I'm a person wanting to look cute, not a raccoon hiding from predators. * Being able to look down at my toes and…

Tbh my motivation comes and goes in cycles, gotta find reasons to keep going even when the fire dwindles out ;) Easiest way to start is to not think of it as a diet! It often infers something temporary (and weight loss frequently reflects that hehe). Maybe try seeing this as a lifestyle change, something that will become…

Don't be scared of backsliding! Weight loss isn't a straight line, just because you veer a bit doesn't mean you can't figure your way back. It's going to happen, it's not going to be easy and that's okay. If it was easy it wouldn't be so worth it in the end :) My best suggestion is to start slow, make little changes,…

Omg that is an awesome goal... which I think I may try as well. But can I also have a goal of cosplaying at each one I go to? o.o And yes, ECCC is a LOT of fun and has literally exploded in the last couple years (I've been going for 5yrs so far). Nice! Have you been to ECCC before? So sad that this is the first year I'm…

Yeah it can be a bit tricky at first. Normally what happens is you click on someone and it takes you to their profile. From there you can send a friend request with an option to add a message. And don't worry MzJax, I fell off long ago and am only slowly easing myself back on. Hoping I'll have time on the weekend to cook,…

Boo to having issues but I'll throw a request your way :) Shorties ftw! haha

Hehe welcome to MFP! I'd agree that part of my downfall the last time was not having a large enough support network and not being active enough with it either. Makes such a difference to know there's other people going down similar roads. Added :)
-
That's great that you can get more active with your neighbour, having conversation to focus on can help make exercise more enjoyable :) I'd agree that variety is the spice of life, and that for health benefits I should really eat more fish hehe Eating out can sometimes be tricky, but you can get yourself used to picking…
-
I shall! It's awesome to have a good network of like-minded people, just having everyone around helps me focus so much more :)
-
I know what you mean, it's good to get the fire going. Now I just need to figure out how to push through when the fire inevitably dwindles out for a while >.>
-
Will do! I'm not hardcore on the workouts (yet) either, and honestly I figure if it gets you moving and makes you feel good, who cares! My main focus is cleaning up my eating habits and cooking for myself again, getting geekier and more invested in working out can come later. For now it's me and good ol' school Tony Horton…

10lbs is STILL something, so don't forget to pat yourself on the back for that :) Added! Nah you're not late to the post at all, anyone wants in is welcome :D I like your short term goal a lot, maybe also because it doesn't focus on the number but on a fitness achievement. Hmmm, I'll have to consider doing something…

Yup I've lost weight twice in my life now; once in my early 20's (found myself snugly fitting in a size 10 and freaked out and stopped haha), gained it back AND how and then lost a bit of it a couple years ago. Don't be discouraged by the number though! Tackle that beast pound by pound ;) I WILL! Haha It makes such a big…

I couldn't agree more, it's so good to see how many other awesome people there are out there who want to support each other in this! I'm not gonna lie, makes me a bit teary LOL MFP is SUCH a nice tool to have, so much customizability, it's exactly what I need. I'm also going to be attempting to log every day; the good, the…

Thanks, that's actually a really good idea! And considering how much I lurk in the Success forums... hehe Absolutely, I think that's maybe a slight difference in my mindset this time around; I want to make these changes PERMANENT, not temporary. I'm willing to struggle and take the time and do the work if it means I won't…
-
Yeah I think a big part of success this time around is actually paying attention to my progress: lbs, inches, taking all the pics. For myself it's about becoming more aware of my body, how it feels, how it fits in space, what it actually looks like. I think a lot of weight gain happened because I never paid attention to…

I am so jealous, I've wanted to go to PAX for ages but none of my RL friends are gamers >.< I do hit up Emerald City Comic Con every year with my geek girls though!

Grats on losing the weight to begin with! And I can appreciate choosing goals you're comfortable with. When I was at my highest of 225 I just went O.O and thought "... I need to lose the size of a preteen girl? Whuuut??" Suffice it to say it broke my brain lol Good luck with the trainer, they can be SUPER helpful and…

Would it make it easier for you if you brought your own healthy snacks and treats to work? Then while other people grab for a donut, you can grab for a piece of dark chocolate. Or there's chips and you can make your own sweet potato chips and hummus. Stuff that'll fit the salty/sweet/whichever cravings but will fit better…
-
Aaah that's cool that you have a reference to work from, I totally don't LOL Maybe I've fit into a size 8 before, but maybe I was 12 at the time haha Yeah I totally appreciate being more realistic about it; better to lose at a slower pace and enjoy a slice of cake when you want than deprive yourself and eat ALL THE CAKES…

It is seriously so cool to see how many people come out to support each other on these forums. Honestly, that alone is awe-inspiring to me. Added! That is a wicked drive to have, and pretty cool as well because I'd guess you have a lot more knowledge to get you going than people who are just beginning for the first time.…

LOL to the Donkey reference. You are CHOSEN! Haha To join our large and varied bunch of ragtags on our epic quest to HEALTH & HOTTIEDOM haha Fellow nerds are extra exciting to add, I'm not gonna lie haha I learned about a local swordfighting/archery/Sherlock Holmes bartitsu school and all my geeky alarm bells went off!…
