@PrincessBelle2 I love to cook as well! It's made life waaaay easier when it comes to eating super tasty healthier foods. Sending an add! @rbratt06 Yup I played Guild Wars 2 when it first came out, but sadly my group of friends quickly cracked out and surpassed me and I've no one left to play with now so I haven't touched…

@ljs385 I've been slowly getting into sci-fi more, definitely want to find some good sci-fi books/series to read. And oooh I know the pain of finishing Skyrim XD I spent most of my time fussing with my house and mountain-goating with my horse. Yay for Bethesda's weird physics haha @dubird LMAO that's awesome…
-
@NicolaMichelle93 I can't believe how many scientists are on here, I'm nerding out just thinking about it XD And I love that, Wonder Woman in training! Added ;) @Faithful_Chosen Sweet, accepted it. Haha love it, joining the fellowship. It's always nice to have more hobbits on my list haha
-
@dubird Sounds lovely! More gamers are always wanted and welcome hehe, sending a request your way @heathengirl I actually have Zombies, Run and recently got the 5K trainer. Despite the weather turning to poop around here, still been thinking about using that instead of the normal C25K trainer hehe @danielleeu I've never…

@jbouton40 Ooooh didn't realize it was so far in! I'll definitely have to check it out this weekend  @rbratt06 Hogwarts classes exist? Haha that's amazing. Love fantasy big time as well, actually trying to explore more fantasy novels, been ages since I've properly read anything. Added!

@enkiemonkey That is awesome! Civilization is a lot of fun and I've played it quite a bit with friends. Don't' know that I'm good at it but I have a blast regardless hehe Added  @SeriouslySta Wow, congrats on your losses so far! That's definitely an inspiration for me, considering that my first major loss was a…

@alxinhim2 There's something kinda extra fun about having more geeks on your friends list for sure. Adding you  @CSARdiver Those are both really great TV shows, and love the dual scientist awesome. Of course when I think scientist I think Dr. Frankenstein and insane cackling but... XD A family Spartan race is a…

Neuroscientist? Ok that's gotta be one of the coolest jobs I've heard of so far hehe Not a gamer is totally fine and I'm with you on being sick of not eating well and not being active. It's amazing how much it really drains you and makes you feel sluggish etc. Can't wait to get some energy back! Adding you

Last night was Lemon Dill Salmon + Greek Quinoa Salad. Yummm!

Nearly the same as yesterday but slightly prettier and re-portioned things to make it a bit lighter overall. @LilSweet2015 The bean curd was from my local Asian mart, although it should be pretty simple to make. Here's the recipe for the Korean Beef, it's really quick to make! Korean Beef* Extra lean ground beef (500g) *…

@Narcissora Yeah I like veggies (greens I need to work on) so it's not the biggest deal. When I was first looking at reviews it'd said that this was a good 'starter' bento to ease people into the normal bento boxes. I knew these were larger than average but I'd had no real concept of the sizing or how much food would fit…
-
@Narcissora I actually really like it and it wasn't a problem at all! The top tier is meant for veggies/salad/dry snacks which is great because my veggies can breathe. Also both tiers are larger than the average bento (600mL each) so I think next time I'll be using more greens/veg as filling.
-
Finally got around to making my first bento! Not the prettiest but I've gotta start somewhere hehe I eat most of my food at work so it's hefty as it includes breakfast, lunch & snacks. Breakfast (184 cals): Greek yogurt & fresh raspberries Lunch (615 cals) - Jasmine rice, Korean Beef (new recipe, so good!), a couple pieces…

Nerd or geek doesn't matter, everyone's welcome! Sending a request your way ;)

Now I'm just at the start of my journey, so take it for what it's worth but self-image and self-worth has been something I struggled with for most of my life. I think it has a lot to do with overvaluing ourselves based on physical appearance. Think of ALL the other non-physical qualities you have and value in others;…

Welcome! Awesome to have you here, feel free to join our group if you haven't already. The more geeks the merrier

@Brynne1234 Done and done, always nice to have more geeks ;) @jessicasrsly Nice, we have very similar stats. Added you as well and welcome!

@squidvicious666 Webcomics, nice! The only one I ever really got into was Penny Arcade, been reading them almost since they first came out. And welcome to MFP! We just started a geeks-losing-weight styled group, and you're welcome to join if you're interested: Just click here to check it out. Throwing a friend request your…

@subzero22 Welcome, nice to have you! That's a really good idea to break your goal down into smaller goals, definitely finding that makes it much less intimidating. Another geeky gamer, yusss! Throwing an add your way

(Just in case anyone is watching this thread and missed the separate post I made a bit ago, we've now got an official geeks-losing-weight-and-generally-being-awesome-together group ;) Clicky here if you'd like to join!)
-
@divinekittycat Sending a request your way! Battlestar Galactica is a series long recommended to me, I'm really going to have to look into it. Fencing always reminds me of "Princess Bride", and I'm the kind of nerd who'd keep saying "My name is Inigo Montoya... you killed my father... prepare to die!", I'm sure to the…
-
@abetterluke Dang, thanks for the forewarning! I'll make sure to check it out on one of my solo chill evenings haha @samgamgee @kandell Yeah that's my main concern about making a group, I've no problem doing it I'd just like to make sure it's something people would want and use regularly. I think it could possibly be more…
-
@Ellarai Another geeky gamer girl, yessss! Internet five! Haha And another Twitch viewer? That's awesome. Fully agreed that I need to get off my butt and get moving, trying to find ways to work around my gaming geekery and not have to sacrifice too much of it ;) Considering yourself added! @starbucktigh Geek girls ftw!…

Another option is that if fresh produce is more expensive where you live, look into buying frozen fruit & veg. They work great steamed or in soups/stews/casseroles, and the frozen fruit works in smoothies or healthy baked desserts. Like @Laurend224 mentioned above, buying dried goods in bulk as well as your lean proteins…
-
@treyswain3 Oooh that's a really good idea! I really like the idea of having some of those epic soundtracks fueling my workouts, glad you shared that! And added you
-
@ninthnarnian No problem at all! Stumbled on it when I was looking for fun ways to keep track of different things. Still tweaking it to make it work better for me but I really like the general idea of it
-
@Magseye Yeah unfortunately it's just a 16-bit representation, like an old school RPG style so your little avi won't reflect your weight loss. But you can get them weapons and gear. Also forgot to mention that if you fail to do dailies or tasks you've set for yourself, your character loses HP and can die. It's just a fun…

@sparklecomet There's also an app that I've been considering using which could possibly work. It's called Habit RPG. Basically it's a to-do list kind of app; you set whatever habits you want to form/break, a daily to do list and/or one-time things to do. You have a character that you can then level up, and you receive XP…
