Hi. I'm a mom to four. Ages 24 years, 5,4, and 3 years old. I just kept adding on extra pounds with those last 3 pregnancies that were so close together. Then I never lost all the "baby" weight. My stats: 5'2 180 (gulp) My biggest hang-up in my weight loss journey is that I am an emotional eater. I'm a bored eater. I'm a…

I'm definitely able to get into my own zone while working out. Sometimes if I "wake up" I'll even be looking right at someone (may even be a woman) without really seeing the person. I'm thinking about anything but that person. Maybe he's staring into a mirror someone right beside another person and it only looks as if he's…

I've done a water zumba class. It was definitely a good workout and much easier on the knees than regular zumba. I have lots of knee pain during workouts that require a lost of bouncing around (I even have to modify the zumba moves while in class), but the water zumba didn't hurt my knees at all. good luck!

I forgot to say that after you press it you can go ahead and cut it into 1 - 2 inch squares before marinading.

Soft tofu is best for things like salads I think. Extra firm is best for frying and sauteeing. For best results, place it in a colander (if you don't have a tofu press) then place a bowl, etc. over the whole piece and add something on top of it like a 16-24 oz can of veggies/beans to weigh it down. Let it sit for about an…

I do know that if i eat too few calories then your metabolism will slow. I was concerned that with my daily calorie goal being 1440 and I exercised to earn 600 calories extra that if I didn't eat those then my body would start holding onto the calories because I wasn't getting enough. If I have 1440 calories to use for the…

Thanks for all the great info. Now I feel I have a place to start without worrying too much. I can "tweek" it as I go along :).

Actually running on a floor with some "bounce" should be easier on body than running on a hard floor with no "give"t o it because it lessens the shock absorbed by the body each time your foot lands. try getting an exercise mat or some shoes with some cushion to use just for inside (if you don't wear your shoes inside your…

the decreasing number on the scale is only a mental image we hold onto because it's a way we are use to tracking with a weight scale. As long as you're noticing a physical difference as far as losing inches and gaining strength I'd say you're on a good track and should stick with it. A pound of muscle takes up much less…

I hook ankle weights right above my knees while i ride on an stationary bike. Since the bike is no-impact it doesn't bother my knees so much. Make sure the seat is adjusted properly though or it can cause knee pain anyway. Also, I do zumba but I just eliminate the "bounces" and twist and modify the steps, but I also use…

. It's easy to let those pounds add up and not realize it until you see "THAT" pic..the one where you say OMG..is that me? The bright side is that you caught yours before you gained a lot:smile: I think you've made awesome progress. I can really see a difference in the before and after pics, and you have a great sense of…
