I haven't read the whole thread so possibly this has already been suggested but if you go to see the specialist, I am sure he or she would find it helpful to view a month of your eating and exercise patterns. I'd never checked it out before but at the bottom of your food page there is a link to a printable form of the…

How about you give them to me? I am about to leave for a dinner party. I could burn 1,000 calories. No problem.

Wings and ribs.

When you hit the button to say you are finished for the day your friends get a message on the newsfeed. That invites feedback and keeps you on our mind.

I am on the mainland now but was in Fanny Bay till 2009. Heading back for a visit in a week or so. I miss the island.

I am from Canada (west coast) and I have MFP friends from the US, Australia and Great Britain. As I write this, I am having my morning coffee and checking out my Australian buddy's diary...she has finished her day completely. One of my English friends is back from an 80 minute walk. Another has completed her aerobics…

My experience is similar. My Fitbit gives me a positive adjustment on days when I am baking or cooking a big meal...The layout of my kitchen is not very efficient so the steps add up. My setting is for sedentary....I think if I'd chosen even moderately active, I would not get a positive adjustment.

What are his credentials? Not all "trainers" are created equal.

Yes it is. Oops....meant to quote before adding my comment. This is in response to photogrrl's question. Shade of Grey the cat mystery is a real book.

This past summer at the pool, it seemed everyone was reading this book. Well being a lady of a certain age, I feared that a show of prurient interest like this might be considered unseemly so I ordered a copy for my Kindle...even more discreet than a brown paper wrapper. I got into the book right away though it wasn't…

I'll come with you. Do we all start the same place or from where we are? I am in Vancouver BC, Canada....should I start walking east? North? South? Not doing west...too wet.

Well first we will see if I can find high boots that are the correct shade of taupe. If I can then the plan is to buy those and some tights to wear with the tunic length sweater that I have saved since 1992...I love that sweater. But boots and tights would definitely be a new look for me. A friend has issued a challenge…

I  London...but I am from Vancouver, Canada. My daughter and I were in London this past July 1st and were astonished to run into a big Canada Day celebration in Trafalgar Square. So here we are in London. On July 4th many businesses were sporting a stars and stripes theme. Now that is a truely cosmopolitan city.

Eat dinner....so far you have had no veggies and only one fruit serving. There's been no appreciable calcium source. Have a proteinm, a starch and at least two veggies of different colours. A glass of milk would be great or maybe some Greek yogurt with some kind of fruit. I think you will find that comes to close to 600…

One of my MFP friends who I see every day.

My diary is open. Feel free to take a look.

I notice that the stationary bikes show a much lower count than MFP would give me.

Butter and cheese are #1 and 4 on my "most used" list here.

I love grapefruit but it is a strong taste and I can understand that there are bound to be some people who dislike it. What shocked me was that when I gave a taste to my dog to "show her" that she shouldn't try to bum food, she loved it too. She turns her nose up at mushrooms and cucumber but I'm sure she'd gobble down my…

^^^This. Maybe it's a Canadian thing. I read it as Tim Hortons too.

That has always been the big question for me. I am 68 years old so no way I am going to look hot if I drop my excess weight. At my highest I had a BMI of just over 25 and I walk a lot so there were no big health issues. I felt dumpy...but a lot of my peers were equally dumpy. Finally my knees started hurting and the Dr…

Hey Miss Susie, want to be friends? I reached my goal weight just this past Thursday so this is a topic that is near to my heart. You say you’ve never got to this point before. I have…many times. And I have never succeeded at it for any significant period of time. (Not what you want to hear, I am sure.) This time, I am…

I'd love to see before and after pictures.

Yes....glad you mentioned hormones. I wondered about that. I am the mother of two adult children. (45 and 43) My kids have never been at all overweight. Nor do they work out. It seems though that with the slightest exertion they start showing off wonderful muscle definition. Their dad is very overweight but when he was…

I had polymyalgia rheumatica....inflamation of muscles and joints and I was reluctant to go on steroids so tried Dr.Weil's anti-inflamatory diet for several months. It may have helped a bit. I finally saw a specialist who put me on predisone. The condition is time limited and is gone now thank goodness.

Oops....didn't realize you were a guy and my suggestions were kind of girly.
