My NSV for the week was that twice while running in the neighborhood, I just got so hot, I took my shirt off and finished the run in my jog bra. There was a time where I would have rather gotten heatstroke!

I'm doing on on the 17th and it's also my 2nd 5K ever.

i read wheat belly and frankly, it gave me the motivation (regardless if the facts are accruate or not) to cut out a food substance that was a trigger for me. When eating wheat based products, I overeat. Period. Cutting them out and replacing them with fresh veggies has made a world of difference in my satiety, my diet and…

I am Paleo compliant about 80% of the time. I don't get hungry between meals. I don't eat as much as I used to either. I also don't have the digestion issues and swelling I used to have.. In addition, had some bloodwork done last week and my cholesterol is about 140. I eat mostly animal protein and fats and vegetables. I…

If someone asks and you don't feel like getting it to tell them "lots of diet pills and vomiting" with a little laugh. Bet that stops the questions.

I bet you could make a fortune selling those.

I did the same thing. But I don't beat myself up about it. I ate light all day, Halloween Candy ended up being my dinner and I've drunk lots and lots of water since then. Today, I'm eating extra light again and I'll be sure to get some exercise in. It will be fine. If we quit everytime we weren't perfect, I think none of…

I'm going for 40 miles.

I started the C25K program and always ran outside. I completed it, ran my first 5K and decided I didn't want to stop so I signed up for another one. Anyway, I recently had to start traveling for work. Unfortunately, the city where I was staying was not safe to run outside alone in the dark (the only time I had available to…

Was talking to a coworker the other day who mentioned this one, but she wasn't using it as an excuse -- she has recently taking up jogging, but says it kind of sucks b/c she has to go to the bathroom the whole time. She is 50+ and blames it on having her kids. :)

My last day was October 6th. It felt wonderful. I think back to that first run. It hurt so badly. I could barely make the 60 seconds of running time and I wasn't sure I'd be able to do it again. But mind over matter, I persevered. Each week, I continued to surprise myself. I run my first 5K on Saturday, October 13th and…

your choice, but just freaks me out -- the thought of something that is not ME trapped in my body and I can't get it out.

and if you can't afford or find a foam roller, a pool noodle works just fine as well.

IT Band. Cross you left foot over your right, lift your left arm and bend to the right to stretch it before and after running. My doc prescribed anti-inflamatories and told me to ice it after every run. Has gotten a lot better.

If you think you are having a hard time dealing with it, imagine what she must be going through. She is the one that is having to look death in the face. Anything you feel, no matter how uncomfortable, cannot compare. It's hard, yes. But be strong for her. Take advantage of every heartbeat b/c as long as her heart is…

Absolutely! Especially as it is overused on competition shows.

I never thought I could do it either. And Day 1 was extremely hard for me. But you know what? Day 2 was just a little bit easier and each time I did it, I surprised myself. I just finished W8D2 this morning -- 28 mins straight of running. Even though I did it two days ago, I still question if I can do it. And you know…

I am not a morning person by any means, but I run before work. I am also doing C25K. I started out in the evenings, but I live in TX and had to wait until late in the evening to avoid heat stroke. As a result, as the workouts became more intense, I found I couldn't fall asleep. So I started running in the mornings. It…

Dear X, I don't think how you realize how angry your posts make me. It just really gets to me to see post after post moaning about how you have to work 3 jobs while your husband stays home and won't even babysit the kids and then moaning about how you have no money and then moaning about how many days until you get your…

Also don't forget to invest in a good running bra. They can be pricy, but if you are gifted in that dept, it's just as impt as the shoes. Otherwise, you end up clutching your chest the entire time.

THIS! I tried to do C25K with my husband. But when I'm ready to go, I'm ready to go. Became quickly apparent that if I had to wait for him to be ready, I'd never get this done. So I just do it alone and just finished W7D2.

Per my fitbit, I typically run at 5.1 mph.

Massively. I even sweat (and drip) from the bottoms of my kneecaps.
