I say walk as much as you can. It is cheap and not hard on the body. I started walking 2 miles a day and now I can run more than 5 miles at a time. I started a year ago and it does pay off if you stick to it and push yourself everyday. I have lost 29 lbs since I joined MFP and had lost 21 lbs before that. Good luck you can…

I accidently became a runner. I started out walking faster and faster. One day I decided to jog and would jog for 3 minutes or so at a time. Now I regularly run 4 miles and sometimes 5. I hate the first 1.5 miles or so until I get a good sweat going and I think about the fact that I can run over a mile..........3 miles.…

I remember my first mile! I started running a 2-3 minutes at a time about a year ago. Now I am running 4-5 miles a day and running my first 5k on Sept 7th. WTG running your first mile. It gets addicting and they day doesn't seem right when you don't get that good run in. Good luck and congrats.

Thanks for sharing! I can relate to not wanting to go to the doctor, I have done the same thing. Avoided having my Type 2 diabetes checked. Avoided my yearly physical and on and on. Just because I got fat! You are an inspiration to all of us on MFP, keep up the good work! and THANK YOU!

Hi Everyone: I am 51, feel free to add me anyone.

I have also done WW and gained it all back......More than once! Feel free to add me. MFP is a great tool and I have learned to do things in moderation. I found WW restrictive and the meetings boring! Good luck

I have an office job in IT as well. I count calories and workout at least 4 days a week. I work out (usually run) for an hour. I try to keep it simple. Calories in calories out.
