Congratulations on that 250. You know you worked for it. Next time get 251. Every time you improve, even just a tiny bit, congratulate yourself. Remember that's 250 you wouldn't have burned sitting on the couch.

It's okay for the really heavy but for anyone who is less than obese it's far too fast.

Baked beans (preferably low sugar/low salt ones) on wholemeal toast. This combination gives the full range of amino acids that a body needs for tissue growth/repair and is an excellent source of fibre.

Beans on toast :)

Brush your teeth again? The minty freshness may help you stop feeling the need for sugar?

I'm onto day 9 and I would like to reassure you that the post work-out pain does get less bad! I recommend adding in a glute stretch to the cool down as that stops me feeling as achey!
-
That's awesome, well done!

When you're shorter, the boundaries between each category are much closer together than for taller folks. I wouldn't worry about it but use it as a bit of motivation. I started my weight loss when I tipped over into obese on my BMI and I'm now well into the realms of normal. Everyone said that there was no way I was big…

Once you've used the exercise ball for stretching, replace your desk chair with it - it forces you to adopt good posture!

Try couch to 5K - lots of people on here swear by it, and I have found it a great way to get my running ability up (I'm about half way through) http://www.c25k.com/

It's perfectly normal to be nervous about starting the gym. I found what really helps me is having my music on and being able to block out other people that way. I go with my boyfriend as well and I find it helps to have someone there to keep me going. The only time anyone has said anything to me was to check that I was…

If I'm pushing myself I can get into the 180s. I would say that if it's making you feel uncomfortable then slow yourself down, but if not then don't worry. The whole 'optimum heart rate for fat burning' thing is a bit iffy anyway.

Tinned pulses make a good source of protein fairly cheap if meat is too pricey. Keep an eye out for things on sale - if you have the time to get to the store regularly it's worth figuring out what time they reduce the price on the stuff that's nearing the end of its shelf life and swiping some bargains!

Just think of all the calories you burn taking the walk to the toilet!

Baked beans on toast.

From my HRM I do about 500 cals for an hour at mid intensity.

Yesterday was fairly typical for me. Cereal and a glass of orange juice for breakfast, a tuna wrap for lunch, fish and chips for dinner (oven baked not fried). A yogurt, banana and clementine for snacks. My diary is open if you want a nose!

ring doughnuts - all the calories fall out of the hole!

I'm a secondary (high) school teacher in the UK. I've found that the only way that it works for me is with planning. I gym on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I go to classes on Tuesday (pilates) and Thursday (zumba) nights. I plan all my food out for the week ahead but if I'm expecting kids bringing in cakes etc. I make sure…

I started doing a Pilates class a few weeks ago having used a DVD before and it's a much better work out having someone to correct my form. I've restarted the DVDs now and am benefitting much more from them than I did before. I really enjoy my class and it's improved my core muscles no end, as well as being really relaxing…

This! If you do need to lose when you're already at a pretty healthy weight I'd be going for the minimum possible weightloss setting (1/2lb per week) if you really want to be sustainable.
-
You can do it. You know what you need to do, so just get on with it. Next week you could lose this week's weight as well so it's worth the effort!
-
I'd say you need to eat a little more when you're doing so much exercise! You've got 1000 more calories if your diary is up to date. If you use up some of them you'll probably feel a little less worn down. Also, it might be worth upping your calories by a couple of hundred while you're worrying about exams - the brain…

Hi Christina, I've not got any experience with eating disorders but I just wanted to say that I really hope that you can find someone who will go through this with you. NyimaR

Drinking water makes me lose weight because the more I need to pee the more times I have to climb the stairs. It's easy really!

That calorie number is for the full English - not just the beans on toast! I had beans (reduced sugar ones) on toast (wholemeal) today at just over 300 calories. Beans on wholemeal toast give you the full range of amino acids your body needs so is a great food!
