  • Can't wait to try this. Loved the suggestion of adding mini oreos for my husband's shake.
  • Most of the mixes I have downloaded are varied bpm, but it was more about song choice for me.
  • You are very welcome! If I think of anything else, I'll add those. Good luck!
  • Yankee Candle store in Williamsburg - really neat place to walk around Williamsburg Pottery Virginia Air and Space Center Virginia Aquarium (VA Beach)
  • Yorktown Victory Center - indoor and outdoor activities (right near the beach at York River) Nauticus - admission includes guided tour of USS Wisconsin
  • Drive Colonial Parkway along the York River. There is a small clean beach at the end with showers, bathrooms, restaurant. Norfolk is not more than minutes away. There you have the marine museum, water taxi across to see shipyards. Virginia Living Museum - kids loved it. I'll think of more, we are there all the time.…
  • Check my profile pics. In the blue shirt I was probably 300-315. The most current is the orange shirt at 155. I am 5'6".
  • 530 tomorrow, but I plan on being here as long as they let me. It keeps me accountable, and I don't ever want to fall back into old habits.
  • www.rockmyrun.com Free mixes. You can choose type of music, length of mix, clean or explicit lyrics, bpm, etc. You can preview track list for each mix.
  • 1. Strange Brew 2. Clue 3. Smoky and the Bandit
  • So powerful and true. Thanks for sharing.
  • True, I worked HVAC for a few summers. They had me up on the roof changing filters a lot. It was definitely a weird tan, as I too wore gloves and a hat.
  • I used to have mine private, but I think it is open to everyone now. I have never had anyone say anything negative. I guess if I ever do, I'll rethink making it private.
  • Thanks! I started on MFP on November 8, 2010, so it has been a little over 18 months. Best thing I have ever done for myself!
  • Officially 289, but most likely 300-315. I didn't want to go anywhere. I didn't want to play with my kids. I had 2 or 3 things I could fit into. I was miserable. I will NEVER go back.
  • My instructor finally found a great solution to the problem of children. We have a VERY large room, and we probably have close to 100 people or more every week, which brings in a lot of children (big and small). Small children were always under foot, big ones wandering in and out to the bathrooms, etc. So the last few…
  • The only thing that annoys me about my zumba class is that my amazing instructor decided to grown up and get a job when she finished nursing school ;) Now she cant teach as many classes. She is an awesome instructor, and so far, I think that has ruined me on all other instructors. As far as overcrowding, when she taught at…
  • I ran my first 5k in April at 29:28. It was road race with a really tough graveled trail (uphill) in the middle. I'm hoping to have a better idea when I run my next 1 in June(? Hopefully). Of course I'll be dealing with heat & humidity, but I hope to shave off a couple of minutes.
  • A lot of people on my fl build up to 30-50 days and then reset. I have several that are around 100 and a couple in the mid 200's. I will hit 520 tomorrow. I don't think that number has too much meaning for everyone. I know just as many people that never go over 5 days in a row that are way more successful and dedicated…
  • Thank you! I think there are a lot of people that needed to hear this tonight, I know I did :flowerforyou:
  • Welcome to MFP! I have been here 1-1/2 years and it is the best thing I have done for myself. Good luck to you!
  • Love running but definitely need to change things up. Thanks.
  • Pinterest has become my new go to for finding recipes, food blogs, etc. Here are a few: http://www.eat-yourself-skinny.com/ http://www.katheats.com/recipage http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/ http://dashingdish.com/recipes/ http://danicasdaily.com/recipage http://www.thenakedkitchen.com/
  • I don't have current measurements, but at 289 pounds I was in a 26/28. I'm sure prior to starting with MFP I was over 300 pounds, because I could barely fit in 28's. Now at 154, I am in 8's and 10's.
  • Another Amy here. I get Aim, Aims, and even the occasional Amous. I don't much mind. On the other hand, my 10 year old daughter is Eva, and she will NOT tolerate anything but Eva. Not Ava, or Evie (2 ways - either like Chevy or long E). From the time she could talk, she would put someone in their place if she was called…
  • When I started zumba I was 250+ pounds, and no matter how I wanted my body to move, it was just not having it. I found an instructor that I will follow to the ends of the earth, and I hung in there. It took a long time for my body to get it, but eventually it did just that. Once you learn the basics, the new steps will be…
  • Basketball/baseball - VCU Since we don't have football - Virginia Tech
  • Absolutely, beginning in August of last year the losses slowed WAY down, then by November - no movement. I have just started seeing losses again, but they are slow, and don't come every week. I upped my calories, and that is what made things start moving again (for me at least).
  • Not incorporating strength training/lifting on a regular basis (from the beginning) is my biggest regret. Do it, and do it now! I would be in much better shape had I made it an integral part of my workouts from day 1. I am making it a priority now, but I cringe when I think of where I could be.
  • I have found running outdoors much easier on my body, the treadmill was horrible on my ankles. I did have a couple of weeks of adjustment to the road, but mostly because as someone else said, I was running like I was mad at the road. Outside, I can listen to my body, and adjust my pace as needed.
