Dawn effect is when your blood sugar is dropping too low during the night/early morning when you are asleep. Your liver compensates by dumping glycogen into you blood stream thus giving you a high reading when you get up. The solution as has been suggested is eating a snack before going to bed that will prevent the initial…

Unsweetened berries topped with whipped heavy cream lightly sweetened with Splenda or Stevia.

Like many have already suggested, eat more fat. Full fat everything. Add extra butter to veggies, olive oil on salads, mayo, coconut oil, fat bombs, etc.
-
That happens a lot at McDonald's. I've learned to always taste my tea before adding Splenda.

It's not normal to react that violently to carbs after going keto. It could be that you are wheat intolerant.
-
Go ahead. Get a big spoonful and enjoy it... slowly... in front of her... every day. Make sure you smack your lips a lot and moan with pleasure. And... don't forget to thank her.

AMEN!

It depends on what you mean by "reject" and what kind of carbs you ate? If it was wheat based and you haven't had any wheat in a month and you "rejected" it by getting sick then there's a good chance that you just discovered that you are wheat/gluten intolerant. A lot of people discover that intolerance after eliminating…

Eating low carb and getting your blood glucose level down to a normal level can actually help with depression. High blood glucose levels will promote depression. I agree with Poodleaise, insulin can be a good thing. After reading about the side affects of many diabetic medicines I have come to the conclusion that if anyone…

I had a small piece of cake for the first time in over a year on Sunday at a wedding reception. My ankles have been swollen ever since. I'm hoping it will be gone by tomorrow. However, are you retaining fluid or does your digestive system feel bloated and uncomfortable? If it's the latter then you may have just discovered…

Come clean my house and you can log it all you want... double even.

You'd be surprised at how many vegetables I can eat at under 20g net carbs a day. I am also eating berries. I do take magnesium which helps prevent constipation and usually I take a fiber supplement. Lots of water and a high fat macro helps as well. I'm pretty regular.
-
Net carbs.

Look up doctors in your area that you are considering and send him/her an email. There's nothing wrong with inquiring or interviewing a doctor before becoming their patient.
-
I have to stay around 20g a day to lose weight and control blood glucose.
-
I post my blood glucose results in the notes each day. I added entries under "Check in" to log my weekly BG average and A1c tests.
-
By day 5 you will feel fantastic. Drink lots of water. Keep your sodium intake up. If you feel dizzy, drink broth. Keep your fat macro high.

It is funny. LOL!

Buy a used refrigerator for your room and put a lock on it.

DrDivaLove, You are a beautiful girl. Don't let diabetes destroy you little by little. It will take you organ by organ, body part by body part. You have the power to stop it. I understand denial. I was diagnosed 9 years ago. That first year I lost 70 pounds and got it under control. Then I started to cheat just a little…

My guess is that you may just have a bug which is causing you to feel yucky. Because you feel yucky you may have been eating less which is giving you lower BG readings.

Someone posted a long time ago that they ordered chicken alfredo and requested that it be over steamed broccoli instead of pasta. They said it was very good. You can also ask for their gluten free menu. It also has low carb suggestions.

I eat a lot of sugar free jello too.

I made a yummy rhubarb dessert that is totally keto friendly as well as gluten free. Neighbor gave us some rhubarb out of his garden. I love rhubarb pie. I just can't eat sugar or pie crust. So, I made this up today: "Buttery Rhubarb with Whipped Cream". Melt 1 stick of butter (1/2 c) in a skillet. Add approx. 4 cups…

You are now too small for that blouse. You don't just lose weight in your bust, waist and tummy. You also lose weight in your shoulders, back, everywhere. Since you lost weight in your shoulders and neck the blouse hangs lower. You're not losing your mind. You're losing your fat. A great NSV.

I see a big difference. I started at 325 pounds. I understand the frustration of not seeing much difference for a while. Other than my face I didn't see much difference until about 50 pounds. I felt the difference. My clothing size didn't change until 40 or 50 pounds but they kept fitting better and better. Then all of a…

While I'm definitely a low carb advocate and I do keep my carbs very low, unless you have a metabollic issue there's no reason for you to cut your carb intake lower than what you are already eating. With that said, you mention that carbs make you feel heavy, gross and bloated. Rather than cutting the amount of carbs you…
