Don't panic. It's probably mostly water weight. Get back on coarse and it should drop off in a couple of weeks.

I was looking at your list again. I think it would be less intimidating if you grouped related points under separate headings. Some suggested headings could be: logging, grocery shopping, monitoring, fitness, eating out, etc.

Great work. You are in control.

I believe you are contributing your increased cholesterol to the wrong thing. Your diet isn't open so I can't see what you're eating. But, eating all the bacon and eggs I wanted resulted in my cholesterol dropping significantly. If anything, you should ditch anything labeled "low fat", "non-fat", "fat free", and "reduced…

Lots of good info and suggestions but, if I was new to it I would have found that list overwhelming. I probably would have started with: 1. Throw out anything labeled "low fat", "reduced fat", "non-fat" or "fat free". and 2. Buy bacon. LOL!!

PCOS is insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, a precursor to Type 2 Diabetes. It means your metabolism cannot process carbohydrates/glucose properly. To successfully lose weight and manage PCOS you should go with a low carb, moderate protein, high "good" fat diet.

I loved reading about your transformation.

Welcome!

Welcome to the group.

Unfortunately the only way to get those numbers down further without adding more medication is to decrease the amount of carbs you eat more and increase your good fats intake. You have to be consistent with it and as you keep your readings low throughout the day, the morning ones will start to come down.

I've also blanched asparagus and served it cold with a vegetable dip. Yum.
-
Asparagus cooks really fast. I sauté it in butter or olive oil. I get the oil hot then toss in the asparagus. As soon as it turns a bright green it is done. Delicious. However, overcooked asparagus is gross.

I did make it. I step on the scale Christmas morning and that 1/2 pound was gone.
-
I hit my Christmas goal on Christmas. Yay.

Since you only have about 10 pounds to lose and it's all in your tummy the answer is weight training. Eat well to maintain your weight now and lift weights to strengthen all of your muscles. Work on strengthening your ab and back muscles. You might lose that 10 pounds or the 10 pounds may stay as you add lean muscle. Don't…

You probably need more calories. Your macros are great. Just increase the volume. And, sometimes I just have hungry days. On those days I just eat more of what I can eat. I don't worry if I go over on calories a bit but I keep the macros the same.

You could have been "insulin resistant" for years. Insulin resistance is a precursor to Type 2 diabetes. IR comes with a host of metabolic issues. It is also called PCOS, Syndrome X, Metabolic Syndrome and a couple of other names I can't remember. Some of the symptoms of IR are hypoglycemia, gestational diabetes,…

I just remind myself that the short term pleasure of eating what I should not have isn't worth the long term results. I've fought too hard to find the right macros to get my BG into a good range. If I indulge one day it throws it out for several days. Not to even mention the cravings come back with a vengeance. It's easier…

Very well done. Congratulations.

If you are not in pain, call your doctor in the morning. If you are in pain, go to the emergency room.

I can usually find menu items that fit into my diet plan. What now bothers me about restaurant food is the sodium content. I don't normally focus on the amount of sodium I consume but I am now finding that after eating at a restaurant I retain excess fluid for 3-4 days. That's a lot of salt.

I couldn't taste the cauliflower in the meatloaf or meatballs.
-
I've ground up raw or frozen cauliflower in the food processor to use in place of crumbs in meatloaf and meatballs. Works and tastes great. I haven't tried it but I bet coconut flour would be great on chicken fingers.
-
Wonderful! Praise the Lord for your great accomplishment.

I've dropped 2 more pounds this week. Just as I thought I would after carrying excess fluid for over a week. 1 more pound to lose in order to reach my Christmas goal even if it is past the 15th. 1 less pound is all I want for Christmas.

I'm a dozen krispy kremes away from losing an Irish Setter.

Technically, meat has a small amount of carbs. I refuse to count carbs from meat.

9/15 Challenge starting Weight : 279 12/15 Goal Weight: 255 Current weight: 258 Lost: 21 pounds. I am the same weight I was a week ago. I only have 3 pounds to lose to meet my Christmas challenge goal. Unfortunately, even though I stuck to my diet throughout last week, last week was the week my body decided to retain…
