Eggs are a perfect food.

Are you in the USA? In the USA we use mg/dl. I think the UK uses mmol/L. Here is a site that can help translate the difference: http://healthy-ojas.com/diabetes/a1c-glucose-chart.html A mmol/L of 7.5 would equal a mg/dl of approx. 135 mg/dl.

My cholesterol was never in an unhealthy range but it was sitting at the top of a healthy range. All my numbers have come down except the HDL which went up one point (a good thing). I don't remember what my total numbers were 6 months ago when I started back on a keto diet but in the last 3 months my triglycerides went…

Please, someone, anyone, tell me about a "diet" or "eating plan" or "lifestyle change" that will keep the weight off if I stop following it and eat "normally" again.
-
Absolutely eat to your meter. You will then find what food items you can eat and what you can't. I've learned that I must eat very low carb to feel good, to keep my bg under control and to lose weight. Actually, losing weight is the big bonus payoff of keeping my bg under control. There are many foods that other diabetics…

Klor-Con - Potassium 10meq twice a day If you look at my food diary you will see the amounts of supplements I take.
-
My doctor gives me a prescription for potassium (Clor-Kon). He also has me take calcium, magnesium and a daily vitamin. The calcium I take has D in it.

Excellent article.

3 pounds in 4 weeks is excellent progress.

I walk, outside and on the treadmill. I also do strength/weight training. Keep to low-impact aerobics until you've lost a significant amount of weight. You don't want to damage your knees in the process. Strength training is important to keep the muscle the excess weight has already given you. As you lose weight your body…

How could I forget this wonderful NSV? Yesterday instead of driving to pick me up from work, my husband walked the dog to my work so that we could walk home together. That alone is an NSV. But, additionally, I walked up a hill on the way home that in the past would leave me winded and my heart racing. I frequently would…

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/george-stella/low-carb-praline-pumpkin-pie-recipe/index.html Hands down the best pumpkin pie. I cut back on the amount of splenda in it especially in the pecan crust. I have also replaced the heavy cream with almond milk to make it non-dairy. If you want non-dieters to stay out of it,…

Drink water, water, water and more water.

My doctor was so happy with my numbers: Everything went down except the good cholesterol which went up 1 point. Yeah.

My plan is closest to South Beach phase 1. My glucose levels can't handle phase 2 foods yet.
-
I do not have cheat meals. Diabetes does not give a pass on cheat meals nor does it take holidays. It can take days to bring glucose levels back down from a cheat meal. Cheating on a low carb diet will bring back the cravings ~ not worth it.

That has always been my goal as well -- 1 more pound. I have been successful at reaching that goal 62 times. I just want to weigh less next week than I do today.

Tell him about the weight lifter that keeps hitting on you at the gym.

You're doing great. Stick with what you are doing. Weight tends to come off in chunks. It's not unusual to go a couple of weeks without losing and then have a week where it just melts away. I went 3 weeks barely losing 1 pound then in the last week and a half I dropped 6. If you stick to your plan the weight eventually has…

One more thing. LOL! I do not believe you have a sugar addiction. What you are most likely dealing with is insulin resistance/pre-diabetes. Have you been tested for gestational diabetes? Having babies over 9 pounds is a good indicator of gestational diabetes. Your "sugar addiction" is actually a response to your body not…
-
Additionally, never eat sugary treats or fruit without protein. Sugar spikes your blood glucose, your body responds with excess insulin, your blood glucose drops too fast and you crave sugar to bring it back up, you eat too much sugar, your blood glucose spikes again, your body again responds with excess insulin, your…

Try smaller more frequent meals. You are probably having a blood sugar drop in the late afternoon which sets you up for the binges starting between 4 and 6. Have one of your small meals between 3:30 and 4. Divide your supper into 2 meals. Eat half with your family and the other half later in the evening. Try to eat every 3…

May 1, 2012 I had an appointment with an oral surgeon who said I needed to have one abscessed tooth and 2 wisdom teeth removed. I had a week and a half to get my blood glucose levels under control. I had been ignoring my diabetes for over a year. May 2, 2012 I tested my morning fasting glucose level. It was over 250. I…

How many weeks away? Did you tell them why you need an appointment? If not, call them back and tell them. Try to get in sooner.
-
How long has it been since you increased calories? If that has only been a couple of weeks then give it another week. If you don't see movement then drop your calories by 100 and give it another week. Drop calories by 100 each week until you see movement on the scale. Also, with PCOS severely limit your dairy intake, avoid…

That is a lot of weight to lose in 11 days considering you were not extremely overweight. I believe a visit to your doctor is in order. If you did lose that much weight you need to make sure all your enzymes and other blood work is good. If it was a lot of water then you need to find out why at your age and weight you were…

Yes. You subtract your fiber intake from your carb intake. The second post in the following thread has a link to an add-on that will make your diary track net carbs for you. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/739608-daily-food-diary-how-can-i-convert-it-to-keto

How low are you taking your sodium. On a low carb diet your sodium tends to deplete. Some low carb diets recommend drinking bouillon every day to supplement your sodium. Dizzy could mean you need sodium. Have some bouillon and see if that doesn't fix it.
