Aunt Flo doesn't come visiting any more but I still retain fluid on a 4-6 week basis.

For everyone on thyroid medication: Do not consume soy. Soy messes with thyroid medication.

Stress will raise your blood glucose. So, will pain and illness. The best you can do is stick with your diet, exercise, get enough sleep and monitor your blood as you deal with all the "stuff". I understand "stuff". I will keep you in my prayers.

I love almond milk. I buy the unsweetened. I plan to buy the unsweetened vanilla when I see it in the store again. Lately I've been adding vanilla, splenda and nutmeg to it for a very seasonal 40 calorie "egg" nog. Yummy. I've also used it to make a low carb, dairy free pumpkin pie. It works great.

Read up on it on WebMD. They are still studying its affect on diabetes. It should not be taken with insulin and will interfere with thyroid medication.

This thread: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/476124-myfitnesspal-net-carb-tracker?hl=net+carb+download#posts-6586833 has a download link that will get your food diary to track net carbs.

I always subtract fiber from total carbs. Fiber has no effect on blood glucose.
-
The fiber goal on MFP is a minimum not a maximum. You should try to get AT LEAST that amount.

Just tighten the elastic at the waist.

I vote for number 4: Need more fiber. I think I just flushed at least 2 lbs.

At this point stop focusing on getting off of insulin and focus on eating right and getting you blood glucose levels stable. You need to eat a balanced meal of carbs, protein and fat every meal and don't skip meals. You probably need to eat 35-40 grams of carbs every meal as long as you are on insulin. Regarding not being…

Looking at your diary I see that you are not eating enough food or calories. You cannot control diabetes by starving yourself. Your calorie goal needs to be at least 1200. I wouldn't go lower than 1500. And, you need to meet that goal. You need a real diet plan not just a "let's see if this works" plan. Talk to your doctor…

Yep, I can see why it's hard to stay on such a low carb diet.

You can get a sizer that will keep the ring on your finger.
-
Enjoy it. It will slow down.
-
Can you wear it on a different finger?
-
That is huge. Well done.
-
The only thing the same is your smile.

My food diary is open so you can take a look at it. I keep my carbs at around 5% of my daily intake. Going that low carb is only good IF IF IF you are not on diabetes medication or are ONLY on Metformin as Metformin will not drop your blood glucose into dangerously low levels. Otherwise, you should not go below 30%-40%…

You did not gain 3 lbs of fat in a couple of days. It can easily take a week to drop back off. Drink more water.

If you can keep them in the 80s then keep them in the 80s. I'm working towards being there myself. That's going to take me losing more weight. But don't panic if a food choice puts you up to 110 occasionally. Just modify that choice, don't eat it or cut it in half.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I understand how life circumstances can throw you off you diet course. Depression is a difficult condition. High carb foods will contribute to depression. Exercise helps fight depression. I know that eating healthy and exercising is the last thing you want to do when you are…

How long have you been working at getting your blood sugar under control? Are you on medication? I was ignoring my diabetes for about a year and a half until early May. My fasting blood sugar at that point was about 250. I went back on a super low carb diet to bring it down fast because I was facing oral surgery. In about…

I took a look at your food diary. It is more likely that the Atkins meal replacement bar is what's upping your blood glucose. It does mine. The other item (in the same meal) that would raise mine is tomatoes.
-
It just proves how addictive carbohydrates can be. Great reading.

No. You are not eating enough. Never set your daily calorie goal below BMR. Set your calorie goal between 10%-20% below your TDEE. At 20% you should be eating at the least between 1700 and 1950 calories.
