  • Bullet proof coffee. Plus eggs if you're not too far over on protein. Or, my personal favorite... a lot of bacon with mayo.
  • I think you were very fortunate to end the night with only your heart broken. He sounds like a very unstable and potentially dangerous person. I'm sorry this happened to you.
  • I have been in ketosis for a year. I have type 2 diabetes and PCOS. My macro ratio is 75% fat 20% protien 5% carb. I get the majority of my carbs from low glycemic vegetables. I'm with Albert as being one of the most glucose intolerant people on MFP. Even a little bit of fruit will raise my blood glucose levels above…
  • Can you make your diary public so that we can get a better idea of what you are eating?
  • Leg quarters would work very nicely.
  • I can fry/grill/broil up a steak and steam some cauliflower faster than anybody can boil up a pot of pasta. Most of my very low carb meals are cooked and ready to eat in under 20 minutes. What takes a lot of time is if you are trying to create a low carb version of a high carb meal.
  • You don't have to suffer from ovarian cysts to be PCOS. Ovarian cysts are just one of many symptoms of this metabolic syndrome. The name PCOS is actually very outdated. They just haven't come up with a more accurate one. I do concur that an endo is the best choice of specialist to treat it.
  • You'll find the heavy whipping cream in the dairy section near the half n half. Any low carb sweetener is okay for keto unless you are also eating Primal/Paleo.
  • What Al said. I try to eat 75% of my calories in fat. I eat eggs, bacon, cheese, coconut oil, nuts, dark chocolate, avocados, meat, steak, more meat and I regularly fry my eggs in lard. My lipid panel is great. My triglycerides dropped dramatically. Eat your eggs... the whole egg. Enjoy those yolks. They're good for you.
  • I looked at these. Every one of them contains soy. I second, third and fourth freezing your own food. Make extra and freeze the leftovers in individual portions in small containers. You'll be amazed at how quickly you build up a supply in your freezer.
  • I aim for about 20 g net carbs a day. I was put on a ketogenic diet by my doctor. Originally it was less than 10 g a day. That was too restrictive. When I joined MFP and adjusted my macros the lowest I could set it was 5%. That gives me about 20 g.
  • I also recommend eliminating soy from your diet as much as possible. It's in everything. Even watch for it in cosmetics and beauty products. Soy is a plant estrogen. It will mess with your hormones and your thyroid and soul cysters don't need any more stuff messing with our hormones.
  • I've had THEO. It is very good. It's just a little bit pricier than Green and Black or Vintage Plantation in the store where I get them.
  • I have PCOS. It has developed into Type 2 diabetes. I have lost almost 100 pounds since the beginning of May 2012. I eat a very low carb (ketogenic) diet. It's the only way I lose weight and control my blood sugar. I was recently put on Metformin for the PCOS. I was also prescribed spironolactone (Aldactone) which reduces…
  • Green and Black 85% or Vintage Plantations Artisanal Chocolate 90% are my favorites. I have some almost every day. They are almost the only one's I've found that do not contain soy.
  • I wish I had been diagnosed PCOS and knew about a low carb diet before I was diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic. Maybe I wouldn't have spent 2 decades weighing over 300 pounds. I tried low calorie diets. I would lose 20 pounds fairly quickly, stop losing and then gain it all back plus more. I finally stopped dieting altogether out…
  • All of the goals on MFP are for you to reach. They're not a goal to stay under. The goals are what your body needs.
  • Without seeing your diary I can't give you specific advice. However, KDIPIAZZ is right. You have to look at the amount and type of carbs you are eating. Carbohydrate control is the only way to achieve diabetic control without medication.
  • I try to find meat and veggies on the menu. If needed I order a burger without the bun. Sometimes the appetizer menu has the best low carb options. Italian restaurants are tough... it's pasta everything. Ask to sub steamed broccoli for the pasta and choose alfredo. Order breakfast anytime of day. If all else fails,…
  • Not so much the shape as the width. She always had a very wide pelvis. Her pelvis became narrower due to her job delivering mail. It was still wide but not as wide. The muscle she built around her hips and pelvis pulled the bones in. But, like I said, that involved walking 8 hours a day, 5-6 days a week carrying a 50-70…
  • The only way my sister reduced the size of her hips was by walking 8 hours a day delivering mail for several years. Building the muscle around her hips pulled in and tightened her pelvic bones. I suppose you could replicate that somehow through heavy weight training.
  • If you really want a useful "cleanse" get a colonoscopy. When it's done you'll get a report and some awesome pictures.
  • Today I had an avocado and farmers cheese for breakfast.
  • Today I had an avocado and farmer's cheese for breakfast.
  • This is the truth. Reality is that most people in the USA can not recognize a healthy weight. Your ticker indicates that your goal is to lose 29 pounds. Most people would not be able to see that you are 29 pounds overweight just by looking at you and would be surprised to hear that you are.
  • NSV=Non Scale Victory I love all NSV's. Your's is great.
  • I took a look at your diary. Unfortunately the only way to get those morning fasting numbers down is to decrease your carb intake and get rid of the Atkins products. While Atkins products claim to be low "net" carb I would call them "slow" carb. The blood glucose reaction to them doesn't necessarily show up within the…
  • The proper response is, "Because I can." If they press the issue tell them, "Talk to me when you want to lose 11+ kilos." Go eat some bacon.
  • Easing into a low carb lifestyle doesn't really work. You just have to go for broke. Easing into it just prolongs the hunger and cravings. Off plan days will result in hunger and cravings the next day or two. Keep those to a minimum. You need to be very strict the first 2 weeks of going low carb. No fruit. No cheating. The…
