QFT. I've been in ketosis for almost a year. I average 20 net grams of carbs a day. My brain functions just fine. A whole lot of other functions have improved dramatically.

Why is she your best friend? Why are you allowing someone to treat you that way and continue to call her friend? Friends are friendly not verbally abusive.

Click on HOME, then GOALS, CHANGE GOALS, select CUSTOM, then CONTINUE. Change your macro goals there. In my opinion you cannot eat too much fat as long as you are meeting your protein needs.

I used my immersion blender last night for the first time to make mayo in a mason jar. Worked like a dream. I didn't even have to drizzle the oil. Just put all the ingredients into the jar, blended it starting at the bottom and slowly working upward. It was done in about 1 minute.

Also, flax meal, coconut oil and bullet proof coffee.

Most people feel terrible the first 3-4 days on a low carb diet. The 5th day is wonderland. LOL! More fat: Fattier cuts of meat, homemade mayo, cooking in butter or lard, olive oil on salads, very dark chocolate (80%-90% cacoa), avocados, bacon, bacon and more bacon.

That's a pretty common allergic reaction to wheat. Sweets tend to have wheat flour in them.

On all of my cholesterol reports there are numbers for Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides and "non-HDL".

Great post. It made me go back and average out my monthly losses. I started keto and have been strict keto since the beginning of May 2012. That first month I lost 23 lbs. The second month, June, I lost 4 lbs. Since then I have averaged 7 lbs a month. So, why do I do keto if it doesn't cause me to lose 23 pounds every…

Yes, strenuous exercise will raise your BG. You burn glucose when exercising. If you burn too much your liver will dump more glucose into your blood stream to keep you from crashing thus raising your BG level. However, if you test again 1 - 2 hours after your workout your BG should be back down Exercise will also cause…

The toxins in your skin are rising to the surface as your body is cleansing itself. You will notice a great improvement to your skin once the breakout is over. Drink lots of water.

I just bought an immersion blender. I'm going to try this. It would be great to be able to make it right in the mason jar. This is the recipe I've used. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/whole-egg-mayonnaise/ I like it because it uses the whole egg. I'm going to cut it in half next time because I don't get it all used before…

I think your TDEE is off. I would suggest dropping your calories by 100 each week until you start to see weight loss.
-
You only have to lose 1 pound at a time. My goal is always to weigh less next week than I do now. Don't focus on the total It is too overwhelming. Just 1 pound is enough.

The most aggravating thing with diabetes for me is how everything affects blood glucose. If I have a head cold, higher numbers. An injury can cause higher numbers. Medications or any unusual stress on the system can cause higher numbers.

I didn't realize that "18" was referring to the "other scale". LOL! Yes, that is very high.

Ray's Place, Kent Ohio Stuffed Gourmet Burger, 6 oz. of fresh ground beef stuffed with a mushroom duxelle in the center then topped with carmelized onions, bleu cheese and a balsamic reduction with lettuce and tomato. You need to set your food diary privacy setting on public so that others can see it. A really good resource is bloodsugar101.com It sounds like you are hypoglycemic. Hypoglycemia is the flip side of the same coin as diabetes. You are most likely insulin resistant. Your body over produces insulin because your cells aren't…

I can have the exact same meal and my bg level will range from 85-105. This is not an exact science.

One of the issues with a low carb diet is that your gut flora (good bacteria) doesn't get enough sugars to stay alive and healthy. Lack of gut flora can cause constipation and other digestive issues. Get a good probiotic and/or add foods that have probiotics to your diet - good yogurt with live cultures, raw sauerkraut,…

I would like to know what kind of nutritional advice all the subjects were given. I would also like to know if the fruit eating group and the limited fruit eating group were eating differing amounts of total carbs.

You need to go to a surgeon and see about getting your gallbladder removed. It's not going to get better. Don't suffer for years with a diseased gall bladder. Until it is removed you will have to decrease your fat intake or you will continue to suffer attacks. Those attacks are very bad on your pancreas. Until then, eat…

From: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/ghee-recipe/index.html?oc=linkback Ghee does not need refrigeration and will keep in airtight container for up to 1 month. I'm going to try to make ghee in the near future.

I second the recommendation of a keto diet. It works. It will lower your blood glucose levels and your cholesterol. My macros are set at 5% carbs, 20% protein and 75% fat. Keeping the fat macro at 75% or higher has significantly smoothed out my BG levels. I'm not on insulin so you may need to have more carbs to avoid an…

I can't see your diary so I don't have specific recommendations based on what you are eating. Here are some things I've learned in order to get the fat macro over 75%. You can't just add fat to raise the ratio. You have to lower the the others. Lowered my protein: only 3-4 oz of meat at a meal. 1 egg instead of 2.…
