no, it only tells you to eat that much just to confuse you. they don't want to make it too easy, otherwise then everybody would be fit and they'd go out of business.

Some staples like milk and eggs are more expensive than a place like Fred Meyer. But most are cheaper than Albertson's. Organic stuff is more or less on par with other markets. The question becomes do you want to buy certified organic everything or not? As with anything else, use your head.

This requires an extremely complicated decision tree. Study this carefully. You may have to read it more than once If you are hungry later, then eat dinner. Else, if you are not hungry later, then skip dinner. Plan better tomorrow, regardless of whether you eat dinner or not.

No, fat will leave your body gradually, and for a great many people, the belly area is the last to go. All you can do is be disciplined and consistent, and have patience.

I got my #2 again this morning. It came with the hashbrowns. I did check the bag before driving off. I didn't even mention the mixup from yesterday because I hate talking to people. I didn't throw any food in anybody[s face. Order is restored in the universe. And now it's almost time for lunch.

don't waste your time with ab gimmick machines. get a holistic routine going. i should add... it's ok to work your abs, but that should be like 4% of what you do.
-
yes you do. you're looking for any little rationalization to buy into a quick fix scheme. snap out of it. come back to reality, where weight is lost by eating less than you burn, and long term success is found by understanding this simple process.

I wouldn't say it's bad for you. It just tastes bad, and worse yet, smells very bad in those stores.

Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press, and Overhead Press. I know you said no legs. Tough luck. Friends don't let friends work upper body only. Go to http://www.strstd.com/ and enter your stats. If you are Intermediate or better, start Wendler's 5/3/1. If you are less than Intermediate start Rippetoe's Starting Strength.

got some science to back that up?

If you want to eat clean, then I'm sorry you can't use artificial sweeteners or even table sugar, as they are processed/manufactured foods. If you mere want to live a healthy life, then you can eat either.

Work out hard. That looks good. Doesn't matter what you're wearing provided that it's comfortable and functional.

it made an enormous difference in that i was always hungry. i only followed the mfp recommended calories for sedentary for a short amount of time. i learned very quickly to bump up my intake.
-
lightly active or very active for sure. you might also consider just doing a TDEE-based approach. i would also cut down some cardio and start strength training yesterday, but that's getting off topic :)
-
low like BusyLady above, i have to jack it up to "very active" even though i'm sedentary at work and at home (aside from the vigorous exercise that i do 4-6x/week). if i put sedentary i would be hundreds of calories low every day.

Your BMF is purportedly counting your total energy expenditure. So you would eat at a deficit to that. If you get an outlier day here and there, like you did today, it's not worth fussing over. After a few weeks, you should be able to find your groove and get a sense of your average energy expenditure. All that matters is…

squats
-
how much exercise do you do? generally speaking the sedentary setting gives out crazy numbers that only seem to make sense for people in a coma or on bedrest. go with lightly active at a minimum, if not higher.

There are generally labels on food packages. I recommend that you read them and make an informed decision
-
i tend to disagree with 90-100% of this.

looks a little homely

Plug your stats into a TDEE calculator. That will give you your maintenance level. To gain, eat more than that; to lose, eat less than that. Following the TDEE-based approach, you do not worry about "eating back exercise calories", as they are factored in.

I've learned a lot here today. I can now honestly say I'm going back to McDonald's tomorrow with a plan of action. This is my plan of action: 1. break up with my girlfriend 2. send a child in to McDonald's tomorrow because I don't want to make anybody trip out that a grown up will eat that stuff 3. have the child explain…
