How is your sleep and nutrition?
-
You don't need to "cleanse" to feel better. You just need to give yourself good balanced nutrition. Your body will "cleanse" out whatever it has to. You just need to feed it what it needs. 3 days of juice or whatnot are not what it needs :) Glad you contacted Morebean. She seems to be very level-headed and knowledgeable.
-
Right,. You were even more vague. You were asking for a cleanse that "works". What does works mean? What are you trying to accomplish, specifically? Morebean13 asked this earlier and you did not answer.

I just find it paradoxical that they boast a "judgement free zone", yet judge and discriminate against weight lifters.

One could argue that inhaling unicorn horn powder is the magical weight loss secret. Doesn't make it less idiotic. Open your mind to science.

no excuses. http://articles.elitefts.com/training-articles/531-and-40/
-
of course it works. look how fit all the guys who who chronically *kitten* are....
-
Quite honestly, ditch the exercise calorie micro-managing, and go by your estimated TDEE minus deficit. I switched to that method a few months back and it has saved me a lot of time and trouble. And it works just as well.
-
Despite your disclaimer, cleanses are bogus. Don't be a sucker.

Copious amounts of room temperature cheesecake? Peanut butter by the cupful? Fats are the most calorie dense foods, so keep that in mind.
-
Trick question. You don't do lifting and HIIT in the same session.
-
That sure is progress! Nice going! Have you found that you are able to gauge progress in other, more relevant ways, like how you look in the mirror, how your clothes fit on you, how you feel?
-
Unfortunately, the OP seems to have some disordered thinking around body weight. Best course of action would be to stop weighing herself.
-
strictly speaking, eating a deficit will cause you to lose weight. exercise will cause you to become stronger and help preserve your muscle mass.
-
no, you are not going to gain 7-20 lbs of muscle eating at maintanence for a few months. probably not even with steroids.
-
that's the problem. either you're couting calories or you're not. if you're doing it half-assed then your results will be half assed.

Yes, i have protein powder virtually every day. Why? because it's a simple way to take in some calories and protein. convenience factor. There is no difference in taking it vs not taking per se; it's just another food, like chicken or eggs. Given unlimited time and resources there would be no need for protein powder. I…

Unicorn hoof powder. It's good with almond milk.
-
I just go ahead and indulge.
-
Why replace it? Surely you have room in your cals and macros for a few slices of bread per day?
-
As you get used to it, increase the intensity.
-
No, it means you are gaining strength. Also, a common mistake on this website is that people think you need to be a doctor or scientist to be able to refute nonsense or state anything factual. You don't need a degree in exercise science to understand the difference between strength and hypertrophy; just as you don't need…

The bowflex to the best of my knowledge is an exercise machine, not a body composition analyzer. I don't see how your bowflex can help you conclude anything about muscle gained or loss. Remember, mass is not necessarily tied to strength. When specifying bench press weight, the standard is with a barbell. Try 310 with a…

Best way is to develop a thigh gap. The size of one's calves are inversely proportional to the size of one's thigh gap. The best equipment for this are a bottle of alcohol, a scalpel, a dremel tool, and a mityvac.
-
Eat at a regular TDEE. But you will gain weight. I guarantee it. Some people have to learn the hard way.

cavemen were extremely healthy and lived for a long time.
-
Oddly enough, "listen to your body" would be the right answer in this case.
-
Make a decision beforehand whether to splurge or play it cool. If you decide to splurge, then splurge, if not then play it cool.
-
work out smarter, not longer

MFP also subtracts out exercise calories (using some undisclosed algorithm), which is why it adds them back in when you exercise.
