Thanks you so much. You guys are definitely right about the exercise. My anxiety has gotten way better. I've been thinking seriously about therapy just for myself (I'm already in family therapy). I think it will help. It's a relief to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you! Know that you are not damaged goods! You are an amazing individual with experiences that both alienate you and make you extraordinary. Keep moving forward, no matter how much you struggle. I've been there, mentally and financially. We are stronger in the places that we're broken (don't know who said it but it…

For me, a shorter challenge seems to work better. I'm doing my own personal one I guess for the 5 weeks til Labor Day, but I will definitely join your challenge.

Hey! I don't like talking to myself either:) Add Me if you want

I'm going to bust my * this next 6 days! Excited for the next challenge

This may or may not work for a while, but for your health and overall weight loss, you will need to start eating your exercise calories back. Netting under 1200 on a regular basis is not healthy and actually slows your metabolism. I'm not an expert but I've done alot of reading and tried lowering and increasing my calories…

Thanks so much! People who have never experienced anxiety have a hard time understanding. It's always nice to know I'm not alone. And you really opened my eyes to something; I do have more doubts and paranoia when my anxiety level rises. Thanks!

Yes yes yes...your net should be 1200 AT LEAST with the amount of calories you are burning per day. I had the same problem: I hit a plateau I increased my caloric intake AND added strength training. Strength training builds muscle, which helps to burn fat; try adding it in 3 times a week.

Yep, its down to the bare bones. A few of us are still hanging on. This week was rough for me too; even though I did exercise a few minutes every day, I did no strength training and I can tell. I've weighed a couple times this week and I think I will have a gain tomorrow, but I'm going to hustle really hard today and in…

I'm definitely feeling good...finally into the 170s and going down! Even if we don't reach our challenge goal, we lost some... and this ain't no easy journey if I can speak plainly lol...Congrats Everyone for sticking in there!

Awesome Week! I won't hit my challenge goal either but I'm shooting for another 4 lbs by Memorial Day. I'm just so happy that I broke through that plataeu!

I'm transitioning and already thinking "why am I doing this again?" I have about an inch and a half of relaxer left, but I cut off about 7 or 8 inches! I wear sew-ins for protective styles right now until my hair gets to about chin length. Then I am going to experiment of course. But right now, I'm having a hard time…

100+ days here, in GA though, but you can add me

Welcome to all of those who are just beginning. Just have the mindset that this is a process and there truly is no end result. There will been setbacks, but the key is to not give up. You have to adopt healthy eating and exercise as a lifestyle if you want to reach and maintain your goals. We all need support...you can add…

Welcome! MFP is awesome! There are plenty of supportive people and lots of valuable info. On top of all that, you can see what you're eating and be accountable. 120 days strong...add me

I agree...It takes TREMENDOUS dedication, and our lives get so busy that it can be almost impossible at times. But we're all here for the reason, and that is to make a permanent change in our lives. Most of us want to lose weight and be healthier, some want to maintain. But we all want to change in some way. Everyone…

No stereotypes about black women...I'm so shocked I almost fell on my big lo' *kitten* and messed up my hair weave (both of which I do actually have:)

Already on it... Saturday I started jogging in the mornings, today was my second day. I'm only doing about 20 minutes now, but I already feel so invigorated! Last week I added strength training to my regular workouts as well. My anxiety has been trying to hinder me lately, after weeks of being pretty anxiety free, but I'm…

Am I too late? Check the profile pic...though I've lost alot ( *my SO says "please don't go" to my hips and *kitten**)

Welcome!

what everyone else said pretty much. You are not eating enough to be doing so much. I use my BMR and TDEE, but I use them as a scale. I eat no less than my BMR requires and no more than 20% less than my TDEE. I have increased my calories yet again because I keep being told I'm not eating enough either. So, I have yet to…

Wish I could see the pics (my work computer blocks them), but Great Job on your journey and thanks for offering some motivation to your MFP family. I really needed that!

Food is definitely an addiction, especially if you enjoy it as much as I do. But don't give up! All is not lost; You've accomplished amazing weight loss. Change up your routine a bit if you can-take a walk in the park, a new workout vid, or just put on some music and dance for an hour. We all hit rough patches; I'm in one…

This. You should definitely not be using shampoo every day. That is what's causing your hair to be dry and brittle. Cut the shampoo back to about 3 times a week and co-wash (wash with conditioner) on the other days. ~licensed cosmetologist

YAaaaaayyyy! Starting weight: 180.6 Goal weight: 166

The last two weeks have been really rough but I've managed to log and finally lost a pound last week. I feel like I'm getting back on track. I think this week will be better. I won't be weighing this week but next week. I'm hoping I can keep from getting discouraged that way. Have a great week everyone!

I'm in the midst of exactly what you're feeling as well. Like thunderwoods said, small steps. Joining the mini- challanges helps me. We have one about to start now- Memorial Day Challenge- it's a little longer than the ones we did previously, but I believe it will still help stay one track. Counting carbs if fine, but get…

While you are sedentary, you should be fine, but definitely increase your calories if you begin to exercise. I exercise 5 to 6 days a week and dropped my calories last month to 1200. I stopped losing weight and began to inch back up because my body was holding onto the fat. Even though I was not hungry, I do feel my body…

Starting: 180.6 Memorial Day Challenge goal: 166 UG: 151 For this challenge, I plan to weigh in every 2 weeks, exercise at least 5 times a week for 30 minutes, and lay off the fries, fried foods, and sodas.
