I am here. Been reading but not posting. The trip wiped me out. Started feeling better over the weekend but then was busy. Mia, my DIL had the surgery to remove the stretched out skin around her middle. It was quite extensive but she looks great now. She was basically cut from the middle of each buttock around the front,…

Anne, the best way to keep animals out of your bulbs is to make a wire box out of chicken wire and put it in to the hole, then add some dirt and the bulbs and more dirt, and cover the box with a lid of chicken wire. That will keep them from eating the bulb part. That won't, however, keep rabbits from "tasting" each flower…

Lisa, (hugs) Sylvia (hugs) Heather (hugs) Linda from Edmond OK. I just left your area this morning after spending a long weekend there. Now home in Iowa. Phew! Long drive- ten hours. Love to all.

Welcome ANOTHER MIRIAM! I so rarely meet other Miriams! I am still in OK City, heading home in about an hour. I have been reading posts but not responding. Love to you all. Type to you later...

Sylvia, I am so glad you are okay. I was really worried about you. Janet, I am in OKC. Ten hour drive, but it was lovely watching spring "come" as I drove south. This morning it looks like my sister is taking my girls shopping with their cousin (female- the male one doesn't want to participate). I am going to try to hit a…

Heather, your DDIL going home with Olivia the day after a C-Section reminds me of when I had my second son. I, too, went home but it was not voluntarily and it was without ANY backup. The girlfriend of my former husband's best friend had agreed to take care of my 2 year old while I was in the hospital and my former husband…

Olivia is adorable!

Beatrice is beautiful!

Janet, I will be at the Marriott in Edmond on Thursday evening through Sunday early a.m. I don't really control the schedule but we will probably be hanging out at the hotel most of the time (pool and kids). The room is under my sister's name- Ann Gilbert. My oldest (and very judgmental) sister was just here yesterday for…

Janet, what a wonderful photo! I have three sisters- two older, one younger, and also an older brother smack dab in the middle.

Wasn't her name Toni?

Spent four hours cleaning up part of the downtown park that I take care of. Cut off peony, aster, Russian sage, and sedum stems, and raked up all the leaves and debris. I also pulled up as much of the quack grass as I could (it spreads by underground runners). Stuffed everything in to 9 yard waste bags and a huge pile of…

DJ- more like a turkey! One big turkey! I feel like those chickens when I have the tub at 104!

I thought I would list my hot tub workout. First I do 100 pull ups holding on to the folded over top. I usually have to do these in sets of 25 since my hands hurt. Then I do 100 -200 of arm swings from straight out in front to the sides as far as I can. Then I do 100 arm lifts, palms down, straight out front and down to my…

Lisa, major bummer. You are definitely #1 with us!

Dr. Katie, I can definitely see the difference- much better muscle tone! Larissa, I have celiac too. I tend to eat my meals in pieces. I will make a bag of microwave veggies for one meal, then eat just meat the next. Since I am cooking for just myself, if just doesn't make sense to make everything for every meal.

Anna Linnel, I suspect we have met each other about ten years ago.

Marcelynn, I would suggest EVERYONE has to take a "nap" after lunch. The little ones will sleep and the big ones can read or lie there quietly. When I did in home day care, I did that in the summer, and I took a "nap" with them. Sometimes I would actually doze off, but often it just gave me a break from the noise and chaos…

For the first time in a week, my poor kitty's belly looks better than the last time I changed her bandages. The difference? Instead of using antibacterial ointments, I put a bandage soaked in HONEY on it. There is LESS pus and more healing! Wow! Cross your fingers that it continues to improve! She is sticky, but I can deal…

If I handled stress like some by not eating, I would never have had a weight problem! My problem is that I AM a stress eater. And my life has been full of stress. My mom wouldn't eat when she was stressed and I always wished I had been like her in that respect.

Heather, I LOVE bouillabaisse! Living in the middle of America, there is NO decent seafood available. Enjoy it double for me! Lisa, I am happy for you about the job!
-
Penny, wonderful photo! Love the collars and hats! They are like me when spring and sunny days arrive! Celebrate!!!
-
Oh Sylvia, I am just horrified! Poor kitty. I hope she is found. Please keep us informed. Sometimes I really hate people.

<---was 5'2" now 5'1". And I still have to shorten petites! And often they are far too high waisted, coming up to the bottom of my bra!

NSV- I have been wearing Women's size 20 jeans for YEARS. They were getting baggier and baggier, needing a belt to stay up. This morning I tried on a Misses size 18 jean that had been WAY too tight for YEARS. They fit and I wore them comfortably all day! The Misses sizing doesn't have added room for belly like the Women's…

Heather, that looks really interesting. I don't think I need more testosterone (being a more masculine female in some ways) but I definitely need to lower my cortisol levels! That is why my stomach carries so much of my fat!

Welcome back Terri!

Beth ((((hugs)))) Marcelynn, one of my sons lives in Washington Iowa with his family and I go there often, for shopping too. Less traffic, less people than in the IC area. Why didn't you stay? We could have been neighbors! I lived in IC when I was 8, then moved there in '93 when I escaped a bad marriage. Moved to a small…

Anna, I am in the Iowa City area. Gorgeous up your way. Marcelyn, didn't you mention coming from the Iowa City Corralville area?
