I generally walk an hour to an hour and a half (total time walking to and from my gym, and perhaps the grocery store), as well as spend about 1.5 hrs in the gym lifting stuff. I'm at the gym 5 x per week, and get out for the brisk walks daily.

Bloody hell! Get a better doctor, STAT. No, it is not safe to be on Phentermine indefinitely. I personally wouldn't want to be on it for even a day. There are just too many negative side effects and risks you're taking by doing so. EVERYONE who loses weight is at risk for regaining it. Maintaining weight loss is difficult,…

I'm curious about that as well. In terms of my own experience, I have to watch sugars/carbs for medical reasons, and I find that certain types of foods really set me off and others not so much. For example, starchy veggies are ok with me, and so are most fruits. I can eat a small portion and have no problems later on in…

Yep. OP should really be paying someone to go in circles with her.

If you don't have any sort of blood sugar issues, the answer is no...you don't have to specifically restrict your carbs. I have to stay low to moderately low carb (up to 150g/day) for health reasons, but I don't think "carbs are evil". I love carbs, but have found I feel better and have less trouble staying within my carb…

I have to agree with the previous poster--why eat it if it makes you gag? I much prefer fresh tuna over the stuff in cans, which is what I suspect you're talking about. I also prefer tuna that has been packed in olive oil over any other sort, and especially the stuff packed in brine or just water. Ways to eat the stuff in…

Hello, I also have PCOS and am not on any meds. I've lost a little over 100 lbs, and am looking to lose around 20 more pounds. I've been eating a low to moderately low carb paleo diet made up largely of protein and veggies and healthy fats. I stay under 150g/carbs per day right now, but when I started out, I found I needed…

All of this, BUT/AND I like to do extended periods of IF and then switch things up and start having a small meal (by small I mean under 300 calories) each morning. For whatever reason, my body seems to respond well to the change in circumstances. I think for me, it probably has to do with cortisol levels.

All of this. Use your diet to lose fat/lean out. Lift weights to maintain your muscle as you lose the fat, and of course for personal enjoyment/relaxation.

If you're insulin resistant, it's important to really watch your carbohydrate intake. If that is the case, then I'd answer "yes" to your question. If you're not insulin resistant, just eat in a sustainable way....whatever that means for you. Generally speaking, most people don't find limiting carbohydrate to be a…

Fresh herbs from my green grocer. Dried spices from wherever I find what I need/want.

ALL of what FrkLft said, seriously. I do weighted squats with a barbell and kettlebells. I probably end up doing a bit of squatting most days, but I don't do it in the manner you're asking about, and I don't do a lot of volume/weight (for me). I follow a training schedule, so it's not like "squat until you're fatigued" or…

Paleo Water is ridiculous, totally agree. I think it should be mentioned that Jimmy Moore is endorsing it, which is even more LOLworthy, if you know anything about him. Equally ridiculous (but to be expected) are the responses from some of the MFP paleo evangelists to this thread.

Do not want. I like my meaty thighs.

I agree that you need to see someone about your relationship towards food and your body. Your posts make me suspect you're unwell. :flowerforyou:

Yay! You look fantastic--definitely turned back the clock. Nicely done! :drinker:

Yeah, you order a whisky. You can ask for a single malt, and the bartender or waiter will make suggestions (cause there are all sorts), or you can call your whisky by brand name if you know it.

Carbs: Mostly veggies, some fruit. Protein: Meats of all sorts, fish, whey protein Fats: Coconut oil, butter, avocados, olive oil, avocado oil.

Me too. See you in Hell, RML

Hi, I have PCOS, though my symptoms have greatly improved since I've lost 100 lbs. I also found that a low carb diet was important for me, as I'm also insulin resistant. I tried, but never could tolerate metformin, and though I took birth control pills to regulate my cycles at one point, I don't anymore. So at this point,…

Congratulations--you look fantastic! :drinker:

I'm going to assume that at 95kg you experienced plus size shopping, and I'd think you'd know that the clothing available to plus size women isn't exactly the sort of stuff most women would aspire to wear. In general, plus sized clothing is typically shoddy in its design and execution, is not flattering, and you pay…

Just echoing JesterMFP's great comment here, and adding a little bit of my own experience-- Like Jester suggested, it's best to think in terms of using your diet to control your fat loss, and then exercise to improve your overall fitness and performance. I think it's wise to add some sort of resistance training, whether…

Yay, Beeps! Looking lean and mean! :drinker:

You look great! You've really changed your body composition dramatically over the last year. :drinker:

Google for paleo and/or primal recipes. All sorts of good stuff out there.

WOW, this thread! I hip thrust and glute bridge, but view those as accessory lifts. I continue to squat and DL. I started hip thrusting and glute bridging as just bodyweight exercises, which I'm pretty sure is what Contreras recommends, and later added weight. I started with an empty barbell, as I did with every…

Yes, wrong. Do a bit of research away from the vegan/vegetarian sources.
