If I work up a sweat I log it. If I don't, I don't. Having said that, I don't log every single activity I do, nor do I log every single bite of food or do more than eyeball measure most of the time. Some people object to that.. it works for me. I also don't have a HRM and that also works just fine for me. You need to…

I was 295 lbs when I was pregnant with my second. I followed the gestational diabetic diet (I had GD) and throughout the whole pregnancy gained 4lbs (the doctor told me if I topped 300 he'd have to send me downtown to a different hospital so I had good motivation). I also walked every day. When I left the hospital I was…

congrats! you look great! Love your clothes too!

If you have that much to lose you definitely need to be eating more than 1200 a day. Make sure your activity level is correct, that you're eating as much as you should and that you're getting in all the water you need to be drinking. If that doesn't help check your sodium levels (BIG problem if they're too high). If that…

No, they're both 5lbs. But muscle is way denser than fat, burns more calories than fat, is much better for you than fat and is also more aesthetically pleasing :) However, if you took the same volume of muscle and fat, you'd have more muscle and then it would weigh more than fat.

The most motivational thing for me was to remember that next year I'll be a year older no matter what I do. How healthy I'll be a year from now.. now THAT is up to me. Time's going to pass regardless. What I can control is how I choose to greet it.

One of the hardest things I had to do this time was to tell my best friend she'd hurt my feelings. I knew it would devastate her to know that she'd hurt me and I knew that I would need some time to work it out -- I also knew that I was being unfair but I was hurt so I acknowledged that I was reacting badly but still made…

Your calorie intake and exercise levels sound good. Without being able to check your diary, I can only guess at the possible issues. My first suggestion would be to look at your sodium intake. This can have a huge impact on your weigh-ins (I had an incident with Munchies Mix last night and while still under calories I was…

it's not how others see me.. it's physically uncomfortable.

did you eat a lot of salty stuff? Got a period coming?

Getting under 250 was hard for me because it was a weight I knew I could maintain easily. I had to push through both a physical and a mental plateau which took a couple of weeks to do before I allowed myself to believe that I could get to a smaller weight and maintain it. I know I'll face the same challenge at 199 because…

Your sodium is too high. You also aren't eating often enough I think. I suggest incorporating a morning snack, an afternoon snack and an evening snack. You have some good choices in terms of fresh fruit and veggies. Try incorporating nuts, olive oil, avocados, seeds or greek yogurt.

short answer is YES you should eat even when you don't feel hungry to get up to your minimum calorie needs at the very least.

I like raw cabbage. I also make kale chips (just google it, there are recipes all over the internet) but those aren't terribly filling. They are a healthy alternative though and do help with the salt craving.

I like facial and body hair on a man. Most women don't.

3 things work: water water water -- drink at least 8 glasses a day. Don't be afraid to drink more if it's hot out or you're being active. plan plan plan -- fill in your food diary for the day in the morning. Know what you're going to eat before you eat it. move move move -- even if it's just cleaning your house, get some…

Serve yourself from the counter or stovetop -- do not bring the food to the table and serve from there (helps stop going for 2nds). Don't put the salt shaker on the table. Teach the kids to scrape off what they don't eat directly into the composting bin so you're not tempted to "help" them.

He always has.. though he definitely likes the added self-confidence I have when I'm more physically fit.

pretty sure you could find one made out of soft tofu. GL

Obviously there's more than just spinach in that can.

I really enjoy Everything Healthy For the Slow Cooker Recipe Book. Just watch the sodium in some of the recipes.

Can you not pack an insulated lunch bag with a little ice pack inside? They're as small as a purse and with lunch systems such as EasyLunchbox.Com and Planet Box Lunch or other type systems (there are easily half a dozen) you should be able to find a reasonably sized lunch system that includes space for an ice pack. Here…

I feel that way too sometimes. Then I look at a photo of what I USED to look like and think about how uncomfortable I was ALL the time and I realize that I may have a ways to go yet.. but I've also come a long way Baby!

My goodness woman! You're half the girl you used to be! You look fantabulous!
-
Do you recommend using the random settings on stationary bikes and other cardio machines to avoid this?

I'd rather have a body like yours than be small any day. Fit is sexy. Muscles (defined and toned not big and bulky) are super HOT!
-
Good for you!

Very cute! Nicely done.
