5 Ways To Sneak Exercise Into Your Life
1. Keep heavy cans (canned beans work good) or weights next to your chair at night when you're watching T.V. Do curls and extensions during the commercials. 2. Park farther away on purpose. For one you won't get as many dents and dings in your car and for two, you'll get your heart rate up. 3. Play music while you're…

Activity Level and Cleaning Calories
I'm going to first off say that if I'm doing a big cleaning I log the calories. If I build up a good sweat, feel my heart rate go up and generally am "working it" then yeah, I claim it. I've been claiming them all along and I'm losing so it works for me. I was initially set at sedentary because quite frankly I was, but a…

Did You Know? (Nutrition Tips)
I thought it would be a good idea for people to share some information about nutrition that would help clear up some misconceptions about certain food. For example, you should try to avoid cooking with olive oil. It has a low smoke point and you will lose important nutrients if you heat it. Best to cook with coconut oil (I…

Question for Informed Body Builders
I know you can't give an exact number, but what is a reasonable time frame for building one pound of muscle? (for both a male and a female if you know). I've gotten conflicting information -- everything from 1 week to 1 month. I know that immediate gain after bodybuilding is likely water retention, but I would like to know…

Potentially Embarrassing Question...
So I have a belly and have had one all my adult life. I've carried two children to term and wasn't small to begin with. I would like to amp up the intensity of my workouts but I feel very uncomfortable running or jumping or jogging because of the belly flapping up and down. So my question to other people with big bellies…

Markham Ontario FREE Wardrobe Ladies 4X
We're all at different stops along our journey. My journey is now past the time when 4X clothes fit me. I had someone lined up to pick them up today but it's fallen through (for the second time) so I'm putting them out there for any MFPers who want them. It's a full wardrobe (tops, bottoms, pjs, bathing suits, dressy,…

Calorie Cycling MFP Style
So I hit a plateau a few weeks ago and got stuck. The first thing I did was change my activity level from sedentary to lightly active because I wasn't as sedentary as I'd been before. The second thing I did was look into calorie cycling. So I went to the calculator that everyone posts a link to and it looked pretty easy…

From 330 to 265
There's not a HUGE difference when your start weight is 330 but there is a difference. Still wearing the same clothes for now but I'm hoping to start going down sizes soon. (the jeans in the second after pic are jeans I couldn't wear before so that's something :) )

Might not be a success to some..
But I simply LOVE that I have enough strength, flexibility and stamina to clean my own house now. I don't have to rely on my Hubby to wash the floors or do the heavy vacuuming and I can clean the house without wanting to keel over and die. Being able to do my job (I'm a stay at home mom) is a HUGE success to me!

Exercise water?
Do you count the water you drink while exercising in your 8 glasses a day? I try not to since I'm sweating but I confess, sometimes I do. Do I need to try to drink even more on days with a vigorous (for me) workout?

Oh Sodium You're an Evil Witch
So this past w/end I had a little cheat night because it was my pre-birthday bash and we had Chinese Food. I knew I'd retain a little water but Holy Moly! By Monday morning I was up 4.4lbs!!!! Now I'm a big lady so I probably retained a lot of water but WHOA. That was crazy. Fortunately after drinking huge amounts of water…

Newbie
Just joined up on the advice of a friend. Been watching what I eat and trying to get more exercise in for about 3-4 weeks now and managed to lose 10.5lbs so far. Slow and steady wins the race right? Got a loooooong way to go but my main goal is just to be healthier.
