  • Yes, search for a food, and then once you get the list of choices you will see "Add a Food to the Database" underneath. You can also add your own recipes that you use often (like a batch of salsa) to get the calories per portion.
  • 35% protein is about as high as you should go according to the USDA (range is 10-35% for adults over 19). MFP sets yours to 10% by default. Try upping your stats to 40% carb, 30% protein, and 30% fat.
  • I am SO glad you posted this. I am going over my sugar too...one glass (8 oz) of milk is 12 grams? That is 1/3 my DAILY recommended amount. I've been doing research on this and 24-36g is the amount of non-natural sugar you should have...so the added sugars found in packaged foods, etc. (not natural sugar like the stuff…
  • First, HUGE congratulations! You are extremely inspiring! I am closer to the beginning of my journey but I had to take the time to make this about being healthy instead of losing X pounds. I know this is not always an easy journey but every day is a new day. Good for you for doing this every.single.day!
  • Finally calculated my numbers today. Can't wait to check back here in a month or so!
  • I'd say that is definitely a victory! Congrats!!

  • I'm so glad you posted this. My right foot has been falling asleep on the recumbent bike lately. My laces are not tight at all. I've tried putting the pressure on different parts of my foot (toes, center, etc.) without luck. Any other ideas?
  • Recumbent bike and weights! I will be starting a Yoga class starting in a few weeks.

  • These are amazing victories...20 seconds to 30 minutes? WOW! Now that is some motivation!
  • Wow! That is amazing! Congratulations, you should be SO proud!
  • Sounds like me! Lost 30, hit a plateau and only kept 15-20 off. Now I'm back for good this time!! Looks like we have similar goals and I am almost as tall as you. ;) Feel free to add me. I've found the more people that are posting on my feed and are committed, the more motivation I have.
  • Wahooo, finally found my 5'8" sisters for inspiration!
  • Maintained 16.6 MPH for 35 minutes on the bike yesterday and didn't die (my fastest MPH yet)! Added 10 lbs to the weights yesterday and nailed it!
  • It's stories like this that keep me coming back and filling me full of motivation!! Amazing!
  • AWESOME!! I am almost identical in size to where you started and seeing your "after" is SUPER motivating!! Not many 5'8" women on here so THANK YOU for posting this!!
  • Congrats!! 10% is a big deal! I just joined a "slimdown" challenge and the challenge is to lose 10% in 12 weeks. I'm ready!
  • Number 1...set realistic goals. If you are not a morning person, don't say you are going to get up at 4am every morning and go to the gym. This equaled failure for me every single time. I work outside the home full-time and have 4 kids ages 5-11. It took me several years to figure out that for me, the best time to work out…
  • Congrats!! How exciting!! I cannot wait to be there. One pound at a time!!
  • Great post! I also would be all or nothing. If I didn't workout, I failed. It can be SO much easier then that. Now if I'm tired and don't want to walk on the treadmill for an hour, I tell myself to only do a half hour. 30 minutes is better than ZERO. Guess what...I've stayed on the full hour every.single.time. I'd eat a…
  • Quesadillas are super fast and easy and can be made any way you want them! I use shredded cheese and rotisserie chicken from the grocery store for the kids, and mostly veggie ones (onion, peppers, tomato, etc.) for me, and then have lots of things to "dip" them in (sour cream, salsa, guac, etc.). They are SO fast to make…
  • Welcome! I'm THE BEST at making excuses so I will only give tips on how to ensure success (and I still have a LONG way to go)! Make realistic goals that are achievable. Do not make a goal to work out every day for an hour at 5am. It's just not going to happen, and because I know I'm not a morning person, morning exercise…
