  • I am really impressed with your motivation and attitude! That is the best part of this site, seeing others get excited about changing their lifestyle is so encouraging to me, and helps me to remain or refocus. Keep it up!!
  • I would absolutely do the strength training first. Not only because most experts tell you that but from my experience I would hold back on my running speed so I would have strength left to do weights. Doing better strength training has helped my half marathon training considerably and in my opinion kept me injury…
  • Well said everyone, but I guess that is the main point of this site. I know I needed a, pardon the pun "gut check" when it came to the amount of calories I was consuming every day. Thankfully, it gets easier as your body gets used to smaller portions and healthier choices. The thought of BK now makes me want to vomit!…
  • You can do it! Nothing beats a runner's high!!! and it is a serious way to burn a ton of calories!! Just add a little mileage at a time and you will soon be running that 5K and maybe even on to longer races! Keep running!
  • Maybe changing up the DVD's migh help but I wouldn't cut out the running or any other similar cardio. Running has always been the best way for me to shape up and slim down my legs as well as the rest of me. Plus if you quit cold turkey on the exercise, it might mess with your metabolism a bit?? Good luck!
  • Mine is the same way. I peak around 180 and feel pretty comfortable running at this pace. I agree that a HRM would be a good investment and they aren't that expensive--definitely worth it. Everyone is different so everyone's HR will vary. Listen to you body and just use the calorie guide as exactly that, a guide.:) Good…
  • Send some my way!! ;)
  • I agree it can help and think how happy you will be when they fit properly again!
