Sara does look amazing, and she works hard for that body. That is why I didn't say it was IMPOSSIBLE, but close. I don't know what Sara's waist measurement is now, but it is probably not as small as it was when she was in her 20s. Sara looks dang good, but she is not super-skinny like the OP appears to want to be. Sara…

The easiest answer may be to wear higher waist pants that aren't as tight. I see that you are 46. Hate to tell you, but as we get around this age, our hormones change and we start carrying more weight in our midsections. It is next to impossible to get back the slim waists that we had in our 20s and 30s. At 120 lbs, you…

Didn't mean to be rude, just surprised at how often this question is asked. If someone asked how much a 'glass' of water counted, then I could understand that question. But asking how much a 'cup' of water is, doesn't make sense to me.

bump for later:smile:

When I was your age, if weight came on fast, I could lose it fairly quickly as well, as long as I hit it before it got too comfy. You can probably lose 15 of it pretty quick, and may have to work a bit for the last 5. You can do it, tho.:flowerforyou:

AAAAANNNDDDD there it is. This is some dude trolling for girls to send him pics in a pm. Nothing more to see here.

The 'normal' female in America today wears a size 14, and is at least 30 lbs overweight. So if you are eating like a 'normal' person, be prepared to stay at the weight you are now. Why can you not afford to eat Paleo anymore? If you were very strict Paleo and only eating grass-fed beef, and organic everything, then I can…

To your original question re recipes- You can do a lot with veggies to keep things from getting tiresome. My recent fave is zucchini. I either slice it, place on cookie sheet, spritz lightly with Olive oil spray and sprinkle with garlic and other spices, then broil til starts to turn brown around edges. If I don't want to…

If you are asking what YOU should do on that day you hit goal weight, and the days that follow, then other than celebrate with a new par of jeans and take some goal pics, there shouldn't be any major changes in your daily life. It sounds like you are losing very slowly at this point already, so by the time you hit your…

I'm sorry, but that is just scientifically impossible to gain over 10 lbs if you were truly only eating 700cals a day, EVERY day, for 10 weeks with no cheat meals. It takes 500 cals a day OVER maintenance to gain 1 lb a week, so that would mean your maintenance cals were only 200 cals a day?? Just would not happen.

Did your dr specifically recommend Slimfast? Or just suggest any meal replacement? Slimfast is very high in sugar and low in protein. I would ask if you could use a protein shake that has higher protein and less sugar. I have heard of people having good results with Medifast as well, altho they generally gain it back after…

Ironic post is ironic. :noway:

What percentage of your diet is carbs? On some 'high carb' diets I have seen, some people are eating up to 80% of their diet in carbs. I cannot image ANYONE who is Diabetic or IR being able to control their blood sugar on that high carb level, unless they are on a very low calorie as well, and even then, it is questionable.
-
Then the easy answer here is for you to cut back on your carbs. That seemed to work better for you, and you were able to do it for 17 weeks, so it is sustainable for you for awhile. Just be careful when you do start to add them back in at whatever point you choose. Add them slowly, and keep an accurate calorie count. You…

You apparently haven't seen all the various entries for foods in the database. So many of them are wrong, it is hard to know which one to use sometimes. Follow what it says on the bag for one serving uncooked. See how much that makes after cooking to determine if you actually eat that much. If it is too much, half it, and…

Don't judge the husband too harshly. The OP has battled anorexia for many years, so her husband has most likely been thru hell and back with her. She is definitely NOT recovered from her eating disorder, and it may be that her husband had to finally leave the situation for HIS mental well-being. I was married to an…

I will make some assumptions here, based on the OPs profile and posts in this thread. This guy is a competitive eater, and now wants to go on a juice fast for 2 weeks to 'jumpstart' his weight loss. He has a real problem with extremes and moderation. I don't believe he understands the concept of simply eating less food…

has no one else noticed that this guy is a 'competitive eater' yet does not know how he gained weight? And now he is going on a juice fast for 2 weeks to lose weight, which he admits will only be water weight and that he will gain it back when he goes back to eating food. He seems to have a real problem with extremes. And…

During liposuction, the fat between your skin and muscle is liquified and removed. This basically separates the skin from the muscle, so wearing the compression garment afterwards for a few weeks is done to help the skin adhere back to the muscle and not hang loosely. It is not the same as when you lose weight and the skin…

As for complications of eating at 1400- short term, probably not a whole lot of bad effects at your age, other than not having the energy to keep up with 6 days a week workouts. You could do it short term and probably lose your weight fairly quickly, but I would suggest throwing in a high calorie day once a week to keep…

I think you are confused about what BMR is. It stands for Basal Metabolic Rate and is the number of calories your body needs to maintain your current weight at complete rest. If you intend to return to MAINTENANCE level calories after you cut, then you would need to eat at your TDEE- Total Daily Energy Expenditure. Which…

Sam's Club is the large lot members club like Costco. It is owned by Walmart. It is awesome. Except when they stop carrying things I love- like the Torani syrups!!
-
Cash and Carry stores are apparently only on the West Coast.:grumble: That is a great price!
-
Thanks for the feedback! Sounds like I will stick with the Torani brand. I was really wanting to try the German Chocolate cake from Davinci, but glad to hear it was a disappointment. I found a Sams Club in a nearby city that says they have all the basic SF flavors in stock, and they are $5.62 a bottle. Actually cheaper…

'Cheat foods' are generally carbs. Make sure you get your protein and healthy fat goals in for the day, and then if you have room for the 'junk foods' then have them. Just log everything.

LCHF (Low Carb, High Fat, moderate protein) works very well for many people with PCOS/insulin resistance/Diabetes. You can find some groups on here, and can connect with others that are succeeding with this plan. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/411-low-carber-daily-forum-the-group- Here is a thread with some good…

I agree with most of what the OP said. Losing weight CAN BE very difficult for most people. I mean, if it were EASY, then NO ONE would be overweight, right? Everyone has different needs, and different responses to changes in diet and exercise. Someone 100+ lbs overweight, that regularly eats 5K+ cals a day, can 'cut back'…

It is very interesting how certain foods can affect different people in different ways. I have a friend who had debilitating migraines that were pretty much stopped after he cut out gluten and aspartame. He tried each one separately to make sure it was both that caused the migraines. I don't seem to have a problem with…

Too much caffeine can make you jittery and clench your jaws, which can exacerbate TMJ. If OP were to slowly switch to decaf diet soda, it would help. Don't switch cold turkey or you will get massive headaches from withdrawal!
