Welcome. Your ticker says you need to lose 179 lbs? I was going to suggest that you may not lose 2 lbs a week if all you needed to lose was less than 40 lbs, but seeing your ticker number changes that. If you do indeed need to lose the 179, then the first 40 should come off fairly easily. Just log everything you eat,…

The question is a bit confusing, but if I understand you correctly, here is my response- If you feel hunger because you are eating at a deficit, then in that sense, it would help you lose weight. However, some people are hungry even if they are overeating, due to what foods they are eating and their emotional levels, so…

Please DO NOT listen to the above advice. And please, no one else tell her she is fine at a BMI of 15. Heart failure could be right around the corner.
-
Yes, I agree with others above. 95 is way too thin for your height. You may have gotten a bit carried away with the dieting. How about splitting the difference and shoot for around 130-135?
-
Ah, if you are 140 lbs overweight, then you are either severely underestimating your calories, or you have a serious thyroid or other metabolic disorder. Have you been to a doctor about this?

Blackened means coated in spices and sauteed in butter. Then you add the asian sauce and you could easily have added 200 calories to the fish, which is already a bit higher than Tuna or other white fish. Don't sweat it tho. You made great choices for the rest of the day, and choosing the broccoli. Baked potatoes are higher…

Your ticker says you want to lose 12 lbs. You will get fired for being 12 lbs overweight? Weight loss comes from eating less than you burn. You say you are doing cardio and eating sensibly, but exactly what does that mean? Are you accurately measuring and logging all your food everyday? You can still over eat on 'sensible'…

^^Both the above posts. Weight loss isn't linear, especially for us women. I know you want the weight off NOW, but you have so little left to lose, it may take awhile. And you are in your mid 40s now, and the weight is harder to come off now than it was in our 20s. Look at a month at a time, instead of a week. If you can…

I am so sick of seeing people post this. It is rude, and certainly not helpful to anyone.
-
Not sure why you could not comprehend the previous post, as it was as clear as any of the other posts here so far. I believe the OP understands what she needs to do, now, and bless her heart she has been the most patient and gracious with all the conflicting advice that always comes with these posts. OP- You win the…

I am on a high fat low carb diet where my Fat intake is about 65% of my calories. Losing steadily. Eating fat doesn't make you fat, unless you eat more calories than your body burns.

Sweet!

You did NOTHING wrong here. Do not let anyone take away from the sense of accomplishment you should have for succeeding in creating a healthier body and lifestyle for yourself. With the way your dad has treated you all your life, and how the rest of your family follows suit, it is no wonder that you ended up with…

You look beautiful and healthy. I am blown away at how rude your family treated you. I don't care if they haven't seen you in a while, or if Skype distorted your image, or whatever. NO ONE who claims to love you, should ever say EWWW your face looks horrible. THEY are the ones with the problem here, and it is called lack…

You are a 42 yo man, functioning on less than 1000 cals per day?? I would not worry about the veggies as much as your lack of protein and healthy fats. And simply not sufficient calories. Listen, I understand some people need to eat lower to lose. I am one of them. But I am a 50 yo woman, partially disabled so not much…

My 13 yo son has declared that his first child will be named Alonzo. I sure hope that it is a boy!

WHOA! You are 68, doing those crazy workouts and losing on 1800-2000 calories?? You may be my new hero! I really want your genes. And your drive! And would love to see pictures. Bet you look amazing as well. Sorry to derail thread.. but... just... WOW. ETA, and you are a living example to all the youngsters out there, to…

So if I understand weight equivalents right, you weighed 138 when you started? And you are 5'7" and in your 30s? First off, that is the perfect weight for your age and height, so if you were just started to work out to tone things up a bit, then fine. Most likely, if you just started lifting and your muscles were sore,…

Many chronic pain sufferers such as myself, have found that strictly limiting processed sugars and grains, especially wheat, has an amazing effect on pain and energy levels. It can be difficult to cut them at first, as we generally reach for these items when we hurt or are tired, but if you can cut them out for 2 days, you…

Please be careful throwing that diagnosis around. Just because someone might actually eat that much, does not automatically make them anorexic. Some are under a doctor's care, or some other reason. Anorexia is a serious mental illness, not to be taken lightly. Thanks.

And somehow I get the feeling the OP is not REALLY 18.

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1175494-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants ^^THIS. And hopefully you are talking about NET calories and not actually calories that low?
-
He may also be able to eat a little higher than that and be able to lose. Shoot for 1 pound a week instead, and see if that gives him more calories.
-
I find when I keep my processed carbs and sugars lower, then my hunger is a lot lower. This means eating more protein, healthy fats, and lots of high fiber veggies. I have a feeling that the last item is probably a problem with him, so just try to find any veggies that he will eat and have him bulk his meals up with them.…

Where are you measuring? At the smallest point of your waist? Try measuring at your navel level, just above your hipbones. This measurement should not be more than 1/2 your height. i.e. I am 5'6", or 66 inches. The measurement at navel level should be 33" or less for me. It is still higher than that, so I am still carrying…

Yeah, odd sizes are shaped for a less 'mature' figure. And a size 5 is NOT the same size as a 6. I can wear a size 12 in ladies pants, but need a 17 in junior sizes.

I have been basically plateaued for the past year myself. But I know exactly WHY. I have been eating at MY maintenance level over time. Sure there are periods of time that I stay within my calorie goal, but then there are days that I don't log, or don't measure and log as accurately as I should, or fall back on…

Not of fan of oatmeal, as my mom would cook it on the stove in a slimy mess with raisins. My favorite way to eat oats now is this: 1cup dry oatmeal 1 cup peanut butter 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup chocolate chips drop by spoonfuls on a baking sheet and bake at…

Wait! You leave yogurt and milk out on the counter overnight? Please say you mean in the fridge.
