  • I do it late at night when the house is quiet and everyone is asleep. I shut the TV off and throw on a Youtube vid. If you have an 30mins to an hour to watch your favorite show then you have time to workout.
  • Weight loss is all about Calories In/Calories Out. Plan meals ahead of time. Start by pre-packing lunch for work if you don't already do so. Don't graze when the class has a 'party'. I know all about it, I worked in an elementary school! Find some 15 minute workout videos. Google vids like Leslie Sansone walk at home if…
  • What you are doing wrong is focusing on "dieting" When you say you're on a diet, it tends to be a short term quick fix. Re-wire yourself to make a lifestyle change, something you want to stick to going forward. Focus on Calories In/Calories Out. Weigh and measure, be honest, patient and believe in the process.
  • Blog about it. It helps me. Use the 'my blog' and write down your feelings. In the morning early. When you eat, when you binge, when you had a good day, when you make a good choice, when you make a bad one. You'll begin to see a pattern as to what's going on. For me, it was a huge eye opener.
  • Forget about the fasting, and exercising for right now and concentrate on eating within your calories. Not 500, 600, 700 below it. Eat at your calories or within 100 calories of your set amount. Make sure you are weighing and measuring everything. If you want to rid yourself of something, Drink only water for 1 month. A…
  • Don't be frustrated. It's a learning process. Looks like you've only been a member for 1 week. Give it time. You'll get the hang of this and figure out what works best for you.
  • Not sure how you are calculating calories you are consuming but you may be eating more than you think. Something is off with your deficit. You do not need to drop your calories. I'm 5'2" 155lbs and I'm still losing with 1300 cals a day and 8,000-10,000 steps. I know it's the go to answer but you may really need to start…
  • My 1st piece of advice is to stop "dieting" Make this a lifestyle change. A diet is a short term fix and usually restrictive and unsustainable. Take this day by day. Be honest and patient and you will see lasting results! ;)
  • Learn to balance your meals. Stop being so restrictive and you won't crave as much
  • I sit in the sauna at the gym...Best relief!
  • Yep! Every evening. My husband works nights so he comes home around 7am and leaves around 4pm so when I get home at 6pm I make it before I go to bed. I can't get in the bed if it's not made. Something very strange about that to me. It's like unfinished sleep from the night before... yeah, idk
  • Eating in the sauna...Really? WTF? One time a chick opened a can of sardines and started eating it in the sauna... Oh and on the subject of sauna, spraying your lotions, perfumes, oils or whatever the effff chemicals you got scammed into buying in the 1st place because you are certain it helps aid in weight loss is not…
  • I always calculate my calories burned at 70% of whatever the equipment says so that was I stay in a safe range
  • I'm 39 and this time around I'm finding it easier than ever before. Maybe cause as I'm getting older Ive learned to be more patient. Not to look for quick fixes and be dedicated. Sucking it up and buying a food scale a few months ago was the best decision I ever made because it is all about calories in/calories out. I was…
  • How are you calculating 1200 cals? Are you weighing everything. Is it possible you are grazing at work?
  • Sounds like when your wife got pregnant you got pregnant to.. Don't be disappointed. It's just time to drop the baby weight. Been there, done that. Effed up, back 5 steps move up 10. It happens. You did it before, you will again. Slowly and healthy for your son. I'd get a bike and go bike riding with him. Won't feel so…
  • I was just on another thread saying that I do occasionally still eat fast food like Burger King but instead of the usual 760 calories Whopper w/cheese I get a whopper no cheese no mayo and now that's 400 no side and a diet soda. And you truly don't have to burn 1000 cal a day. losing weight is all about CI/CO I exercise to…
  • Plan in advance when eating out. For instance if I have to get fast food like Burger King I'll order a whopper but that's 760 so I'll tell them no cheese and no mayo, now that's 400 calories which is much more manageable. Chick Fil A I tell them not to butter my bun and so forth. Most chains are pretty accommodating.
  • Welcome back!
  • What actually bothers me is people losing almost a pound a day. Hmm, well I guess not bother so much as worries me. They are constantly updating their weight and it shows up on my feed. When I look at their diary they have 2000 only eat 1000 and exercise 700 off. As much as I want to say this is not healthy, I've been…
  • Ummmm...yeah, yes you were. You are complaining. Why does it bother you anyway? They aren't asking you directly. They aren't flooding your inbox with messages of Please Anthony you look so young and fit please help me. If you don't like seeing it then hide the motivation section from your view then carry on. Goodbye, good…
  • Not sure of your stats, or starting weight or how much you have to lose but first off it's only been 9 days. Since your diary isn't open no idea how you are tracking your food. give it 30 days. Log everything! get a food scale. More than likely you are overestimating calories burned and underestimating calories eaten. And…
  • Back in my day trading baseball cards was a hustle!
  • Stay within your calories. That's your biggest focus and if you don't have one you may want to invest in a kitchen food scale. It makes a world of difference

  • You just gotta stick with it, good or bad and continue to learn how to make good choices and when you make a bad one how to move on. I've been there so I understand. 5'2". At my heaviest 220lbs now 155, 20lbs to go!

  • If your logging is right you may want to work on stretching out your meals some. Smaller meals every couple of hours and see if that helps

  • Back in my day drinking water from the outside hose was 100% acceptable
  • Congrats on deciding to make a change. honestly you don't have to cut anything out of your daily intake. Just watch your levels that MFP gives you and stay within your calorie goals given and you'll lose weight just fine. When you start to deprive yourself of something it could lead to binging so be careful of that.
  • Back in my day a car phone were for rich people!
  • Not sure what your intake is currently as opposed to what you were doing but if MFP has you set for 1800 for example and you were used to eating 3000 then take your calories up a few, maybe 2000 for about a week then next week drop down. It just may be too extreme if you are just getting started.
