Not lifting enough?
So I've started lifting and I love it. My concern is that I am not lifting enough. How do you gauge when you are lifting the right amount of weight? My husband used to play football so he packs it on way too heavy for me or so I believe. He says if I can move it than use it. Right now I'm working light with high reps..i.e…

Help!!!! I'm addicted to Steps!
I can't be the only one. :# I'm constantly checking for the next update. How many steps did it take for me to walk to the bathroom? Strangely satisfied to feel the vibration of being halfway to my goal...the little friendly vibrate or chirp to let you know Hey! Almost there. The fulfillment of reaching my goal and the…

Kids at the gym?
So last night I got to the gym around 10pm. About 30 mins later a woman comes in with her daughter that honestly couldn't be more than 12 years old. I watched as she well I don't want to say "forced" but told her to get on the treadmill and then the elliptical. At first I kept thinking why is she out so late when she has…

When you eat late at night...
Where would you log food that you eat after midnight? Sometimes I go to the gym late and by the time I get home it's technically the next day. Would you log it with the previous day's food or current breakfast? Or does it really matter as long as it shows up somewhere..

101 Things to Give Up for Lent
So it's Ash Wednesday and beginning of the Lenten season for many of us.. This year I'm having a bit of a mind block on what to give up because I don't think I overindulge in much. I saw one suggestion that said give up honking... I can't do that, Some people need to be honked at when they are firmly on their breaks at a…

A gallon of water...Is that really necessary?
I've read different articles. Some say the standard 8 cups (64oz) a day, some say a gallon and some say your body weight (in lbs) divided by 2. Is this based on fitness or activity level? So what are you guys drinking a day? I've been sticking to 64oz. I have a desk job but do manage to workout 30-60 minutes at home 4-5…

I mean truly like the grim reaper is ready to strangle whoever comes in the vacinity. So with everyone trying to maintain healthy diets do you or don't you at work or in public bathrooms? On the…

Would you ever admit it?
So I have a friend who everyone gawks at. I mean, yes, she is pretty and in good shape. She does work out almost every day and doesn't eat sweets or carbs so I applaud her hard work. BUT...she's had plastic surgery. She complained for years that after having kids she couldn't get rid of her "pooch" so she had lipo and a…

Okay so a co-worker has resigned after 8 years so we just had a big to-do for her. of course we had cake because what's a celebration without cake? So I ate it. It was good. I haven't had sweets in almost 2 weeks. I did make sure to drink a boat load of water 1st so I wouldn't overdo it but yes I had 2 pieces. Now I'm full…

So for lent, I chose to give up alcohol and my favorite sweets -ice cream, cake and cookies. Since then I have lost of few stubborn lbs and seeing a decrease in my weight! So as it gets closer to April 17th I'm wondering who else has been successful at what they gave up for lent and do you plan to keep it rid of?

1 week on MFP, looking for people in the Atlanta Metro area. Maybe even some workout buddies whose schedules are as crazy as mine? :-)
