  • I don't even know what to say to those numbers except I dont think a BMR can be that low.... but regardless if you are asking what a TDEE is you need to read this.............> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12
  • Hey Larry- glad your here to take the first step! Everyone's journey is different here, some are shorter then others, but we will all get there by working towards our own goals. Personally I set mini goals for myself so I don't have to look at the "big picture" because it can be overwhelming. I myself am type 1 Diabetic…
  • I often use Dannon's Light & Fit Greek Yogurt. The macros vary a tiny bit depending on the flavor- but most of them are only 9g of carbs per serving and 7g of sugar :) and to me, they taste WAY better then any other greek yogurt I've ever eaten. I usually buy mine @ Walmart, so I'm sure most grocery stores carry it.
  • Not sure if you are diabetic or not as you didn't say. I have type 1 Diabetes and before I exercise I have to eat a fairly large carb meal without taking any insulin and I can still only work out for about 30-45 mins otherwise I'm already low. Even though my progess might be slower than others, I find comfort in knowing I…
  • Hi Shelly!! :) I am type 1 Diabetic myself so I can definitely relate! I wasn't very young when i was diagnosed, but at the time I was still in highschool. That's been over 10 nows... I belong to a group on here >> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/249-type-1-juvenile-diabetics It's full of Type 1's and also a few…
  • Just wanted to point out that this is not true for everyone, as far as it rising during excercise.. Before I go excercise- I eat a large carb meal. The other night was 85g and I only worked out for 45 minnutes. I did not bolus for my meal AT ALL. When I was done excercising my blood sugar was only 117.
  • Hello :) I am type 1 and I use an insulin pump. Food wise- I eat a balanced diet. I usually don't eat more the 45 g of carbs per meal. My snacks I have are usually not much more then 30g at a time. Sometimes if i make a fruit protein smoothie/shake I go a lil over that 30g rule tho :) As far as excercising. I have to eat…
  • At what age and what year were you diagnosed with T1? At the age of 18. What is your best A1c to date? 7 What's your lowest recorded blood sugar? 35! Have you ever been hospitalized due to diabetes besides your diagnosis? Hosp due to complications... including one below the knee amputation. Do you know any other diabetics…
  • I use the omnipod and since its tubless I dont have the problem of it getting in the way. Honestly, they are days that I forget i have it on... lol. I wouldnt trade it to go back to injections for the world. Absolutely love it. If you want to consider it I would talk to a Diabetic educator about it. My CDE had 3 or 4…
  • I am an omnipod user and I have been using it now for about 5 months or so. I absolutely love it. A big pro is that the pod you wear on you is waterproof up to around 40ish feet of water for an hour. I am not a swimmer but I do know someone that just uses vetwrap over it and they can swim with it. I like the fact you can…

  • My lowest I remember was somewhere in the 30s. It definitely can be scary! I hope you like the Omnipod!! I just started using it this past fall and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! :)
  • So far I'm loving it~! I can't get over much nicer it is then giving myself 5 shots a day! I'll take what feels like a small rubber snap against my skin every 3 days to 5 sharp sticks a day  I was very surprised how close my doctor was to the right carb ratio the first time. I went back today, as it had been a week…
  • The Omni Pod has no tubes or wires. you can check out what it looks like @ http://www.myomnipod.com/about-omnipod/ But essentially you wear a egg shaped deal that you change every three days and you get a "remote" like thing that looks similar to a cell phone or ipod to control it. They communicate similar like a computer…
  • Thanks for your post & tips! :) Strangely, the person I met with to set up my pump was a clinical service manager from Omni pod who uses the pump herself, and she didnt even say anything about using something to help take it off....lol I was just under the impression by the third day it peeled off easier, so I will…
  • Hello :) I am a T1 Diabetic. Right now I am on insulin injections, but I have just got approved for an insulin pump and will be starting to use that this coming Tuesday! It will be interesting to see just how much more effective it will be. It's seems to be quite the lil machine!~ haha. Since using MFP, my bloodsugars have…
  • Yes~!! Going thru it right now! I threw my smokes away on Tuesday. So I am going on day 4 of not smoking. The first THREE days really, really, really SUCKS. The cravings are the worst for the first three days, it does get better. I quit once before, and started back up. I'm going to say this. If YOU REALLY want to quit...…
  • yup this
  • When I first started here, I was full like that alot too. I think it was because I was eating the right stuff. Fiber keeps you fuller for longer, and I generally get most of my carbs from fruit and veggies, instead of breads and pasta. I dont cut them out completely but I did cut way back. I want to say after a few weeks-…
  • I would keep going but talk to him about how you felt before you started this, and that you want to be healthy. If he's that special someone, he will support you with whatever you do.

  • I've been around a short time, but I am going to put my 2 cents in like everyone and thier dog has. It's great you "care" about the people on your friend's list. THAT'S GREAT. But the fact is you're not just complaining about them. You are also complaining about random people's journals too. You don't know them... where…
  • Why wait? Don't feel bad. I just quit 2 days ago...lol So no, you are not alone!! I kept making excuse after excuse and I finally said NO MORE EXCUSES. I was here to get healthy, and I wasn't going to get that way when I'm still smoking :)
  •
